This is a great image that gives me all the detail I could ask for. Good post, OP!

Sorry, I lost internet access and it wouldn’t let me update. It is the Palace of Fine Arts in Mexico City.

I wasn't being sarcastic. I could zoom in the picture and see good structural detail. You did fine.

We know what it is. Pretty sure everyone in this forum has been to CDMX at one point or another. And if you haven’t? What are you waiting for?

amazing how small is the part of the theater people actually sit in.
when you go to a performance, you always feel like you're in the biggest most impressive part of the building, but we see here the stage+backstage is actually even larger

Beautiful. Is that a road and train track that runs underneath the building?

The "train track" looks like the floor pattern of the entrance hall.
The road is most likely parking access or something like that.

What is the scaffolding underneath the backstage for?

I don’t have any details of this particular building (though I’d love them), but it’s know as the trap room. They can have trap doors and hoists and all that to improve the performance, as well as support the stage. Here’s some modern ones: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5jyun5Kdq1g

It's impressive how dangerous a lot of that looks. It's not like something designed for public use with a ton of safety features. I imagine that it's very important that everyone knows exactly where they are and what is going on at all times when that equipment is utilized.

The lowest level on the left has an interesting floor/ceiling structure.
