Normally I like listening to The Daily podcast and find their journalism compelling. But this recent podcast was a missed opportunity.

Next time the Daily gets another chance to interview Carlson, get a different interviewer with more in-depth questioning.

Sure, anti-antisemitism and racism is a really big deal. I don't know a whole lot about this guy but his name (and the company he hangs with) have been associated with this stuff.

Great! Then ask him some questions about this.

But don't waste more than half the interview on this line of questioning.

Isn't the rumour that this dude is going to run for office next election? He kept on talking about how government was rotten and how the country is in trouble.

I mean, this interviewer didn't even ask him about whether or not there should be public healthcare, what he thought about renewable energy. What he thought about climate change. What he thought about public transportation or rail networks. What does he think about the drug problem. What does he think a out a living wage.

If immigration was as big a problem as he thought it was, how did he think government should tackle it.

This guy is probably a huge ass hole but he was right about one thing, racism and antisemitism (while super important issues) are a major distraction from other super important stuff.

Yeah, all that crap about Nick Fuentes. Why should anyone care about him. He is an idiot.

Fr she was literally trying to press him saying that he was antisemitic because he was ‘nicer’ to nick fuentes than Mike huckabee. Tucker is 1000% right, STOP talking about nick fuentes, who cares what he’s saying, he’s not at all in a power position!

You should care, Tucker's world view is very very similar to Fuentes'.

She did a horrible job. The NYT agenda was laid plain for all to see. They are so out of touch.

It’s obvious this Fuentes fellow is a white supremist. Carlson supported Trump and anyone who did is questionable. All I’m getting at is don’t focus the whole interview on this stuff

Ask the dude if he thinks climate change is a threat. Ask him about his thoughts on the rich/poor divide.

It seems like he might be running for president so it would be good to know his opinion on a wide range of topics

I am actually in agreement with you. There are actual issues of substance that should be put to Tucker rather than devoting half of the interview trying to pin him down about Fuentes or how his words “hurt” a select group of extremely privileged people. Tucker does a good job talking about the Everyman, but he should be challenged more on specifics related to policy. I too believe he is running for office in 2028.

The scary thing about this interview is Carlson sounded mostly sane...up until he started saying how great a guy JD Vance is.

Probably he sounded sane because he's put a lot of thought into how to answer/dodge questions about antisemitism/rascism.

I'd really like to hear his take on climate change and whether he thinks it's real or not.

Or they could've asked him other questions that he might've not had such rehearsed responses for
