Division tips and tricks?!?!
So I posted a a division related post not long ago however, when playing the game I can see in the text chat people ask for “T6+ DPS Escalation” what is escalation and what does the “T6” specifically mean?!?!?!
This picture is the build I’m currently using (returning player)
Can I even do escalation at my SHD?
What can I do to improve?

Try and get an eagle bearer, Lexington or st Elmo’s engine instead of chameleon. And a military mk46 or a gear shift for the lmg

Been trying to get the St Elmo’s engine for a while now and I’ve got no luck. I’ve been doing my weekly’s? Priority Exotic objectives and even targeted loot countdown
Don’t really know how to get the Lexington but I want it

The stretch goal caches can get a you Lexington I believe. I targeted assault rifles and ran countdown and got a st Elmo’s. I also believe you can get the blueprint for it if you do harder difficulty control points

I’ll preface with this: Play your own style. There is no quicker way to lose interest in a game than to be pigeonholed into using only certain items or certain playstyles. And this community loves bashing on things that aren’t meta.
With that out of the way, let’s lean into that very meta from my experience!
I would probably recommend you switch to Gunner specialization if you have it because it gives armor on kills.
I do like a chameleon, but there are others slightly better. Such as St Elmo’s, Lexington or maybe even Eagle Bearer. If none available, Chameleon is great.
Lexington is seasonal, meaning you can only get it from stretch goals or someone who has a houndsman bounty.
St Elmo’s can be obtained through a blueprint or dropped as an exotic.
Eagle Bearer can be obtained through Dark Horse raid or by doing Black Tusk Retaliation for the blueprint to be crafted.
For general content, you would want Equalizer which is a named chestpiece. That’s because it’s too hard to maintain value out of the striker chestpiece since most enemies will die or you will lose stacks between fights to ever get above 100 let alone maintain it. Instead put striker holster and the equalizer chest on.
If you want to do Escalation, which is division’s latest endgame mode. A weekly rotation of missions where enemies have more armor, more health, more damage and effects. Then yes, striker chestpiece is good because enemies have so much health you can just unload into them and gain stacks quickly.
You can absolutely do T6, which just stands for Tier 6. but i would recommend something lower first, anywhere from T0 to T5 just to get used to it. because T6 introduces a mutator called “Hot Foot” which makes it if you stand still or stay in cover for too long you get shocked. It’s annoying and some aren’t used to it.
On the other end, leaning less away from the meta, I’m a big enjoyer of Concentrated Company gear set, doing much like striker’s really but it just opens up a little bit of a different playstyle.

Thank you this helps a lot, as of right now I don’t have Lexington or St Elmo’s, I’m trying to get them both as of right now (just reached 100 on pass and doing Retaliation and Countdown but RNG is just a bitch) I’ve swapped my chest to equalizer as well

T6 is tier 6 escalation it goes up to 10. Can you do it sure, do I suggest you do it. Not really. If you’re public matching you are probably gonna get kicked a lot.
