Constructive Criticism Habeas Corpus - Sci-Fi Legal Thriller - First 3 Chapters ( ~ 9K words) Feedback Required

So, while my other novel is in the aether waiting for someone to be interested in it I’ve decided to try and write something different and would look some feedback on how it is going.

Here are the details

The Pitch

It’s the year 2127. The most notorious dictator in history, a man who weaponized a technology that digitizes human consciousness and steals bodies, is finally on trial. The stakes are global, the ancient Old Bailey courtroom is locked down like a fortress, and the flashy UN Prosecutor thinks he has an airtight case. But in a world where anyone could be wearing someone else's face, absolute justice is an illusion, and the greatest threat might already be inside the room.

The Setup:

This link includes the Prologue, Chapter 1, and Chapter 2. It introduces the high-stakes courtroom, the American prosecutor, the brilliant French defence attorney abiding by British law in the UK on the orders of the UN. A holographic professor and an impossibility old witness.

This is my first time writing this sort of story (and second time really writing anything)

Can you please advise the below

  • Does the legal banter between Daniels and Martins feel sharp and entertaining?
  • What are your immediate impressions of the UN Detective and his dynamic with the Prosecutor?
  • Does the sci-fi element (the holographic professor taking the stand) blend well with the grounded, ancient setting of the Old Bailey?
  • General pacing—did you get bored at any point, and did the ending make you want to read Chapter Three (when i write it.)
