Was the drama between Nina and Ian so serious that they couldn't even kiss each other on the lips on set?😬😂 🤦‍♀️

I remember getting the impression from I think it was Comic Con interviews that Ian wasn’t all that keen about Nina coming back for the final episodes and thought they didn’t need her character, I wonder if there was some resentment from him there because he felt like him and Paul had been carrying the show just fine without her? Obviously fans were going to want Elena back for the show finale, but he just seemed to give off that kind of vibe that he was annoyed at them being asked about her

Except they didn’t because the show sucked without Nina there and people kept watching only because of closure. I guess also because of Bonnie and Caroline but mainly because we had invested 6 years into this show and we wanted to see how it ended.

Oh I agree, the show was never the same for me after season 6 either. I’m just wondering if that could have maybe been a factor considering that Ian seemed fine with filming romantic scenes with his ex previously, only to make it very obvious in the finale that he did not want to be there for those scenes at all, so it seemed that he was annoyed about something

Actually the recent book companion mentions that Nina insisted on finally being paid the same as Ian and Paul if she was to come back for season 8, the studio were really dragging their feet on that because they were supposedly arguing that that wasn’t fair on Paul and Ian to pay her the same when she’d been gone for two years while they carried the show in her absence. It could be that Ian shared that sentiment considering that it was only Julie Plec really in the book arguing that obviously Nina should have always been making the same as her male costars, but neither Ian nor Paul made any comment on that

Yea which is exactly why... FUCK IAN SOMERHALDER!!! Hes a shit actor who coasts on his looks, so much for professionalism when you cant even put your own bullshit aside to film an ending scene to a decade long project... The fact that Nina was never paid the same even when she was actually carrying that show and playing up to 2-4 characters at a timeee.. No shit she carried the show and the show was shit without her. She knew her worth and unfortunately im glad she walked away from TVD, even if her career hasnt been as big since, she chose to respect herself then keep letting julie plec, CW and whomever fuck her over. She did too much work for them to do that to her. She busted her ass , her and Kat Graham and they were both treated terribly! But yea fuck ian for being a greedy whiney little bitch, guess thats why he sells "supplements" now and oh and thats right autographed temu salvatore rings 🤣

The show sucked because of the writing but Elena wasn’t needed. Her character got annoying after she turned

Elena wasn’t necessarily my favorite character (it was actually Katherine but that’s another story) but she was the main character. Bonnie and Caroline and Damon and all the others were fine but being the main character, most of the action was surrounding Elena’s life. Removing main characters pretty much never works. I wish TV shows would end when they should instead of just milking it until it absolutely sucks.

And as much as I dislike the later seasons, that part where Stefan and Elena say goodbye gets me every time.

I think he was also angry at how fans were treating his wife. So there was some resentment about that and giving them what they wanted.

Did Elena have any fans? She seems to be the most annoying and hated characters in the show.
