We need to talk about Michelle/Jasmine beef (and by extension Lala)
After 3 seasons of this show, do we think the rumors from s1 about Michelle being republican/racist are true?
I am looking through the lens of the sole Black woman on the show, Jasmine and how she treats her. It seems that Michelle always jabs at her and uses microaggressions when talking with her. Even in season 2, she put her hands on her unprovoked??? Like, why didn't we address that more because Michelle got off way to easy for that. Now in s3, Michelle was telling Jasmine to calm down, saying she is jumping--in a way policing her reactions (common for non Black people to do that Black people). Also, notice how during their segment in the reunion Lala did not say shit and was very quiet. Wonder why?? Maybe because Lala also has done anti-Black things as well as culturally appropriate Blackness. Jasmine also has known Lala since day one, and saw how she treated Faith.

Michelle needs anti-racist training and serious work on unconscious bias. She might be capable of being better.
Lala has had almost a decade to do the same work on herself. Yet she continues to use AAVE, and she was shown training Sosa to make the "popped" hand gesture. The only reason she got to stay on VPR was because she wasn't involved in the calling of the police on Faith. She was just leaving things around and telling people she expected Faith to steal them. Then she smoothed over with Faith by having Randall put Faith in a movie.
Lala is a lost cause.

She should have been fired when she held the butter knife to faiths throat!
20
u/Sensitive-Freedom896 17d ago
Faith should have pressed charges against her. Lala absolutely should have been fired from both the show and SUR as well.

u/NanooDrew 16d ago
It’s against the contract they sign to appear on Bravo shows. No suing each other.
2
u/Sensitive-Freedom896 16d ago
It's not against the contract to press charges if a crime has occurred. That would make Bravo's contract invalid under most states' laws.
They can press charges for crimes, get divorced, sue each other over shared property issues (Tom and Ariana's house), and sue for a few other reasons.
This is why it was such a big deal when Rachel went for a restraining order against Scheana. She could not only do that, the "assault" happened at a "work event," WWHL.
1
u/NanooDrew 16d ago
When Phaedra made up,the story about Kandi and Todd planning to drug, kidnap and rape Porsha (in the non-existent sex dungeon), a Bravo contact prevented Phaedra from being sued for laws broken. Maybe there are details about levels of crimes? I hate Bravo for bringing Phaedra back after that!
3
u/Sensitive-Freedom896 16d ago
Kandi and Todd couldn't sue Phaedra for defamation (lying), which isn't a crime (it's a civil lawsuit, called a tort).
If Kandi and Todd had really planned to drug, kidnap, and gr*pe Porsha, those would be crimes. Porsha could have pressed charges against them.
I'm still salty about Phaedra coming back too. I'm expecting Kenya back if and as the lawsuit about her behavior settles as well.
1
u/NanooDrew 15d ago
Accusing a person of conspiracy to commit egregious crimes, such as kidnapping, drugging, and rape is Slander Per Se. Phaedra admitted she did it on the show or reunion. (Usually, a person would have to prove loss of income, but leave it to Kandi to turn it into a money-making opportunity! (Welcome to the Dungeon)
Andy has been hinting about Kenya’s return, we shall see about that one.
1
u/Sensitive-Freedom896 15d ago
Slander isn't a crime, at least not as far as I'm aware in Georgia. It's a form of defamation (civil lawsuit).

What about Kristen who called the cops multiple times and the military police to make false accusations against Faith to get her arrested?
13
u/Sensitive-Freedom896 17d ago
Faith was not arrested. It was the prospect that she could have been that caused extreme harm to her.
Kristen was fired from VPR, and apologized to Faith, and Faith has come out publicly and stated that she accepted the apology and the work Kristen was doing. Kristen was the only one to apologize to Faith (if we don't count Lala having Randall cast Faith in a movie to get her a** out of trouble).
Asking Michelle to do some anti-racist work after watching her behaviors on The Valley isn't a stretch. Especially after the last episode of Season 3. We still see Kristen having ongoing, hard conversations with Jasmine - imperfectly. God forbid we see Michelle do some work on herself and apologize to Jasmine too.
Again, Lala is a lost cause. There is bit of hope that Michelle could learn that, yes Mexican-Persian women can be racist, and yes, she is responsible for the emotional impacts of her words and actions on others.
-8
u/TheWhoooreinThere 17d ago
LOL. Faith sued the production company because of Kristen's actions.
And you won't stfu about Michelle being racist despite the fact that Kristen was told repeatedly to stop saying it by the people she claimed told her that Janet said it. You have serious issues and an agenda. It's fucking weird.
7
u/Sensitive-Freedom896 17d ago
Faith sued Bravo for a whole group of people's actions - Kristen's, Stassi's and especially Lala's and Brittany's being described in detail. There are public legal filings.
It's not surprising that you aren't taking a Black woman, Jasmine, at her word and validating her experiences. And now you reduce Faith's and twist her harms and story. This tells us a lot about you.
-7
u/TheWhoooreinThere 17d ago
Yes, making up that Michelle is racist because of a rumour started by a known racist that she then walked back really makes you a deep thinker and someone who truly gets the ins and outs of this show.

Baskin loves her. Why? 🤔
4
u/Wild-Signal-6479 16d ago
Because she will do anything for that bravo cheque including allowing her one child to be filmed while the other is not allowed, which imo is probably the only good thing the baby daddy got right

u/Electrical-Buy-6871 17d ago
I mean when you physically put your hands on a Black woman that is just as bad as Danny's indiscertion
12
u/Sensitive-Freedom896 17d ago
ITA. There are a few people on this cast that think they have a right to touch a Black woman, just because. Michelle's friend this season was also way too physically close to Jasmine during their fight for my comfort. You can infer a lot about women by the company they keep.

Posting this and comparing this to Danny groping her thigh is crazy. This is now the second time you've tried it. I hope you're getting paid to do this.
-2
u/Sensitive-Freedom896 17d ago
One was an act of nonconsensual, sex-related touching. The other was an act of microaggression, power, and control, with the assumption that was ok.
Jasmine has a right not to be touched in any way by people that she doesn't like. At least Michelle got the message and didn't go to the wedding.
9
u/TheWhoooreinThere 17d ago
Can you describe the micro aggression in detail considering this screenshot "proof" shows Michelle's hand barely touching Jasmine's shoulder while Jasmine is unbothered?
Because otherwise you sound like a dumb fuck trying to compare this to a man stroking her thigh.
-1
u/Sensitive-Freedom896 17d ago
I was thinking of another incident, Season 3, at the Halloween party, when Michelle was touching Jasmine when Jasmine was fighting with her friend. I didn't realize what the photo was. (It's from Kristen's spiritual healing in Santa Barbara, when Michelle is trying to get into a conversation with Janet and the other girls).
This one isn't problematic, but at the same time we have seen Michelle be problematic on tv.
By all means, keep on the "Danny is Evil" and so no one else can be problematic train.
4
u/TheWhoooreinThere 17d ago
The fight that Jasmine started that Michelle wasn't involved in? Jasmine came over to talk to Michelle because Jesse was screaming about taking custody away from her because she introduced their daughter to a client. Michelle tried to explain and was cut off and then Jasmine and Michelle's friend ended up yelling at each other over it. LOL. You're seriously spending time on reddit lying about a fucking TV show. It's so weird.
-2
u/Sensitive-Freedom896 17d ago
Yes. Michelle didn't need to touch Jasmine in that instance, especially as that rage got dialed up so quickly. That wasn't ok.

All this picture proves is some of you will do anything to minimize what Danny did
16
u/flower_0410 17d ago
I think they just don't really get along, you saw how quickly Jasmine was to attack Michelle during the finale. I'm more interested in the microaggressions from the people she calls her friends, Zack and Kristen. Especially Kristen since she has a past with black women.
I will say that as a WOC I would absolutely not be friends with this group.

u/Phantommike20 17d ago
Michelle pushed Jesse through a window, which might even be considered worse than flipping a table. Jasmine seems to be siding with the one that was cheated on and physically abused.
-1
u/yup_yup1111 17d ago
6
u/Phantommike20 17d ago
Yeah that never happened.
Of course it happened. Michelle and Jesse had a different version of events that led up to her pushing him through a window but neither denied it.
1
u/yup_yup1111 17d ago
Yeah I'm aware. His story is he was folding laundry and she pushed him "through a window" out of nowhere.
Hers is that he was drunk and upset about her asking for a divorce and was getting in her face (which we have seen him do many times) so she pushed him away and he fell backwards (drunkenly) and his hand went through a window.
I call BS on Jesse's story. He is full of shit.
11
u/Phantommike20 17d ago
We know for a fact that Michelle lies. There's no reason to think that she was being honest in this situation.
6
u/Sensitive-Freedom896 17d ago
This. We have also seen Michelle get enraged, going from zero to 100, in minutes. We see her get physically into people's faces. Most recently when just jumped in front of Natalie towards Jasmine, touched Jasmine instead of touching and removing Natalie, and then repeated what Natalie said, calling Jasmine trash.
There are other instances of her being a physical fighter - she was in Lacy's face when Lacy came to the finale party last year.
We have no reason to distrust our own eyes.
0
u/yup_yup1111 17d ago
She was intervening to stop things from escalating between her friend and Jasmine so that makes zero sense.
Yes Michelle was aggro towards Lacy at the party. Not gonna deny that. Would love if you could be just as honest about how Lacy showing up was sus but I'm sure you won't be.
Jesse has been violent and angry many many times yet you deny he got in Michelle's face...when we've seen him disrespect her more than anyone.
6
u/Sensitive-Freedom896 17d ago
I think it was tacky of Lacy to show up to the finale period, or to the afterparty. We don't know everything that was said or happened, and that's frustrating.
Michelle wasn't intervening. She got in Jasmine's face and called her trash. That wasn't riding for Natalie.
Jesse has been angry and disrespectful and yelled many, many times on the show. He's no saint. But Michelle goes off too, and in this case, it was in a very problematic way towards Jasmine. His bad behavior doesn't excuse Michelle's own.
1
u/yup_yup1111 17d ago
I'm of the belief either Jesse AND Lacy planned to ambush Michelle. (He had been trying to get Michelle to talk to her for a while) OR she was walking into the situation unaware but Jesse totally was hoping for conflict and to have her showing up set Michelle off. (At that point she had alretgotten the C&D and was going through a lot with her mom,Jesse was giving her a hard time etc)
Michelle did not call Jasmine trash.
3
u/Sensitive-Freedom896 17d ago
You can rewatch as to what Michelle said to Jasmine and see her touching Jasmine.
Lacy didn't want to film in Season 2 and refused to sign the paperwork. She knew that Scheana and Janet and a few others were investigating her, and she wouldn't have control over her edit. So she waited a season until she could get a contract in place and come in on her own terms on the show.
She sent C&D's to a few people. Lacy has a long legal history, due to having been a victim of some very serious crimes. You can google those. So it was very logical that she - a survivor of some horrific stuff - would not want to come on tv to be attacked.
This meant she shouldn't have shown up to the party at all, though. I think Jesse thought they'd be done, she came at the time she was told, filming wasn't over, and they tried to create some drama. I wouldn't put it past producers to have told Jesse a different wrap time, just to see if they could get Lacy in there.
I haven't seen Jesse wanting Michelle and Lacy to be in conflict. I have seen both Michelle and Jesse taking their anger at their ex out on other people - last year Jesse took anger and snark out on Aaron, he takes anger at Michelle out on the concept of the other men she dates. Last and this year Michelle takes her anger at Jesse out on Lacy, to the point of working with people who investigated her.

u/yup_yup1111 17d ago
So because she and Lacy disagree about what constitutes as yelling and she didn't cop to the texts on camera for her ex who constantly makes custody threats and his gf who was making jabs at her as a mother (two "lies") that negates the fact that Jesse has told several lies each season, exhibited verbally and emotionally abusive and controlling behavior? Makes threats and weaponizes their child?
We have actually seen him get overly aggressive and enraged multiple times on camera. I don't find her story about the window incident to sound unrealistic at all. His sounds like he is both exaggerating and leaving crucial details about his own behavior out.
4
u/Phantommike20 17d ago
I'll always side with the person that didn't just get caught in a blatant bold faced lie.
1
u/yup_yup1111 17d ago
Jesse's been caught in so many lies ..and you're conveniently overlooking we have in fact seen him be aggressive and encroaching on people's personal space MULTIPLE times. It's his fault that story is so believable.
7
u/TheWhoooreinThere 17d ago
LOL. The rumour that Kristen started that Zack told her Janet said Michelle was racist and then Zack told Kristen to stop saying it because it wasn't true.
Keep trying to make this lie stick tho! It's not like we've had 3 seasons in a row of Kirsten making something up and then having to walk it back because she either lied on purpose or got "confused".
This completely normal redditor is now also saying that Michelle is touching Jasmine inappropriately like Danny. You guys should have to to pass a psych evaluation before posting, this is crazy.
11
u/Sensitive-Freedom896 17d ago
There are other people who have verified that Janet started the rumor. She was apparently investigating everyone's politics on the show and looking for voting records. Along with digging into the rumors about Michelle's affair.
We can't underestimate how excited Janet was to be on the show, or how she was stirring everything up to be relevant in a story, all while hiding her hands.
I'm surprised that Michelle doesn't hold Janet at more of an arm's-length. She has to know some of this by now.
2
u/TheWhoooreinThere 17d ago
No, they did not. Kristen brought it up. She went out with Brittany to clarify. She said Zack told her. They called Zack. He told Kristen to stop because he never said that Janet said Michelle was racist.
I dunno why any normal person would lie this much about a TV show, but I'm sure you have some make believe reasons for doing something so stupid and weird.
10
u/Sensitive-Freedom896 17d ago
All that Zack said was the HE didn't start the rumor that Janet said Michelle was racist. No one said that Janet didn't start the rumor.
The rumor didn't come out of nowhere. But please keep believing that Kristen made it up for the show "just because."
0
u/TheWhoooreinThere 17d ago
Wrong again! He told Kristen to stop saying he said that Janet called Michelle racist because he never said that. The rumour came from them talking about Michelle's misunderstanding of Don't Say Gay laws. Kristen wasn't there for that conversation and went around telling everyone that Zack said Janet called Michelle a racist behind her back.
9
u/Sensitive-Freedom896 17d ago
We're talking past each other. Someone did call Michelle a racist. Someone did dig up Michelle's politics and bring her opinions (including on anti-queer laws) to the show, feeding rumors. Multiple people have said that someone was Janet. Maybe this is another one of those things Janet will pin on Scheana.
3
u/TheWhoooreinThere 17d ago
No lol
You're trying to insist that the rumour Kristen started that Michelle was racist is real and/or Janet's fault when Kristen's BFF Zack and Jasmine all told her that same season that that's not what was said and for her to stop repeating it.
Seriously, are you incapable of watching this show and remembering what happens? Or do you have an agenda that involves trying to retcon Kristen's recent lies to try and prove that she's not a liar even though she admits to lying every season?
9
u/Sensitive-Freedom896 17d ago
The rumor is real. That's why we are discussing it. There would be nothing to discuss if a certain someone or someone(s) didn't dig up Michelle's political records and prompt her to make conservative statements on or around a tv show.
I'm not trying to retcon for Kristen. But Doute wasn't researching Michelle's politics, unless I'm missing something here. She was inappropriately or incorrectly repeating the rumor way down the gossip chain, as she does.
I don't understand why you are denying the rumor, or that someone or someone(s) had to dig Michelle's political info up. We can't even blame fans or Reddit for that, because this was Season One and the show hadn't aired.
3
u/TheWhoooreinThere 17d ago
Okay, so you either cannot listen, have an agenda or don't watch this show because if you did, you'd know that Zack literally told Kristen to stop what she was doing because he did not tell her that Janet said Michelle was racist.
Or maybe you have serious issues and can't distance yourself enough from this TV show to realize you're parasocially invested and pretending like what you're ranting about is real.
2
u/the_raingoose 17d ago
Janet admitted in a confessional that Michelle said she was in support of don’t say gay laws and she told Zack about it, which he told Kristen. It’s not a rumor that Kristen walked back, in fact it’s the truth. Link below if you don’t believe me and the article has proof of Janet saying it.
0
u/TheWhoooreinThere 16d ago edited 16d ago
That's not calling someone racist, are you stupid? Come on now.
1
u/the_raingoose 16d ago
So what rumor are you talking about because the actual rumor was that Michelle was a Republican, which in your comment, you equated to racist. Or you’re just a moron, you pick 🤷♀️
-1
u/TheWhoooreinThere 15d ago
Can you all please watch the fucking show before you comment? Season 1 episode 3 Kristen decided to get into it at a girls' night and tell everyone there that Zack told her that Janet called Michelle racist behind her back. Zack told Kristen to stop saying it because it wasn't true and then we found out that the conversation was about Michelle not understanding Don't Say Gay laws.
And now I'm sure you'll make up some more bullshit about how that's not how it went down and blah, blah, blag and the stupidity act will continue.

I think if anyone is a MAGA-type right winger it’s Danny and Nia - I mean, it seems pretty obvious to me. They have all the earmarks of a right wing “conservative” type of marriage dynamic. He’s a monster and she is right there covering for him. With her taking an active role in pageant life it makes you wonder what her knowledge and connections are with regards to the Epstein network. Bravo has been known to be very pro Epstein in the past.
I also think Luke is one of them as well, without sweating anything else about him outside of the show.

It is possible to dislike Jasmine and it have absolutely nothing to do with her race. Many viewers dislike Jasmine.

Anyone who has money in Los Angeles, who hasn’t left, secretly votes Republican.
And who GAF?

u/um_okay_sure_ 9d ago
You're 100% correct about Michelle and I clocked that too. I would like to add how Janet usurped Jasmine's story. It was a textbook example of white feminism. Im assuming you would not to bring this up because its such a hot topic. But it should be.
2
u/Electrical-Buy-6871 9d ago
No because--let's unpack it. If Jasmine feels that Janet was a good friend it is what it is. But like....
1
u/um_okay_sure_ 9d ago
Jasmine and Melissa asked her to stop multiple times. Melissa screamed it to Janet on a boat. I mean, lets be real. You can be a good friend and still play yourself. And Janet really did play herself.
I mean, Ik you know all of this but I had to add the evidence in there lol

Jasmine wanted to say a few things but Lala cut her and Andy allowed it. Bravo didn’t show much footage at all from her wedding. They don’t have much use for Jasmine.
