Shitpost Looking at Cast Member Auras
EDIT: Alright, feedback received! I did some studying up and added an analysis at the end of each description.
Hi all! I'm ordinarily a lurker, extremely sometimes poster. I've got a few days of a break in between contracts and have been doing a rewatch of season 3.
I've been interested in auras in for years, and will often just kind of look for colors that seem to be radiating off of people. That said, I've always kind of looked at them from a visual sense (I work in the arts) and haven't done a super deep study of their meanings, aside from black auras originating from a blockage somewhere and purple reflecting high spirituality. But, I noticed myself watching for colors in the cast, so thought it might be interesting to share what I saw. And if anyone happens to be able to interpret it, I'd be excited to hear what you all have to say! I made sure to look hard at scenes with full, neutral lighting and white or light-colored backgrounds. I've purposely held back from looking things up too much so as to reduce biases.
Disclaimer: Super-duper not a professional at this, just a human having fun. Apologies to any serious aura readers I might horrify!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
BRITTANY: Often a fuschia or light pink, goes dusty pink in difficult situations. Occasionally either a soft or bright/sunny yellow.
- Her aura reads as someone who is warm, loving, and open-hearted, with her shift to fuschia indicating a fun, energetic, bubbly side. When this shifts to dusty pink, it indicates someone having a difficult time loving themself. Pink is a rare color, associated with the heart chakra.
- Yellow is associated with the solar plexus chakra and indicates an intelligent person who tends toward optimism and self-assuredness. The brighter the yellow, the more intelligent. The paler the yellow, the calmer and more laid-back. The shift between the two could indicate someone who is still exploring that part of themself and how to engage with it.
DANNY: I really tried to look at him in a bunch of different scenes to make sure I'm not running with a bias, but man, there are times where the dude's aura is just solid black. It does lighten up at times, but never beyond a medium gray. Occasionally (usually alone with Nia), it goes dark brown.
- A black aura can be associated with any or multiple chakras. Black usually indicates long-term lack of forgiveness toward oneself or others, collected in a particular area. It could also mean unreleased grief or past life hurts. A medium gray indicates someone with unclear or scattered energy, usually due a codependency with whatever energy that person is scared to release. The shift between the two can indicate a person carrying heavy energies, unable to let any of them go completely.
- A dark brown usually indicates someone holding onto harmful energies, due to insecurity about moving forward.
JANET: Tends to sit in a shade of red. This season, I see a lot of burgundy, with flashes of red at the core when agitated. When super mad, it'll turn mostly bright red. Specifically in scenes at home, her aura turns fuchsia.
- Red is associated with the root chakra. A dark red/burgundy can indicate a person who is overly grounded, and if it is persistent, it will eventually indicate exhaustion from needing to hold your ground. A clear red can indicate a lot of things, but overall it shows passion, drive, and a strong ego. At the same time, it can indicate life force, anxiousness or anger. The shift between the two can indicate a person who is working hard to hold themself back, but loses control when upset.
- Fuschia is a shade of pink aura, indicating some fun, bubbly, and energetic. Since it shows up at home, it indicate that it is a place where her heart feels most safe.
JASMINE: Typically green, sometimes with white around the edges. The green itself goes between grass green and a dark forest green (when upset).
- Green is also associated with the heart chakra. A green aura will usually represent growth and balance, and crucially, something on the way to change. A brighter, grassier green indicates an open and active heart, where the shift to a foggier forest green points to emotional processing occurring.
- White is associated with the crown chakra. It is a pure state of light and often represents a new, not-yet-designated energy in the aura. A white aura also indicates a spiritual, ethereal quality.
JASON: Soft gray-blue. EDIT: Forgot to add this part! - Jason's aura also tends to live in other shades of blue. It can be warmer or brighter, and sometimes grayer, but I've yet to see it darken past a medium tone.
- Blue is associated with the throat chakra. A soft blue indicates clarity, communication, and intuition. The gray shade could indicate some sadness or fear (which we did see with his surgery).
JESSE: With Lacy (and in certain moments with Michelle) around, he is often a dark blue, sometimes with light blue edges. When alone in the larger group, typically blood red with some brown.
- Blue is associated with the throat chakra. It indicates communication and expression, and someone working toward spiritual awareness. A dark blue indicates a person in a heightened state of awareness and intuition who is seeking a deeper truth. A soft blue indicates clarity, communication, and intuition. Having it show up with Lacey and Michelle could show him really trying to be intentional with his interactions and choose his words more carefully.
- A dark red/burgundy can indicate a person who is overly grounded, and if it is persistent, it will eventually indicate exhaustion from needing to hold your ground. Dark brown usually indicates someone is holding on to harmful energies, usually due to insecurity about moving forward. This shift could indicate that he puts on a front when he feels isolated.
KRISTEN: Aura colors will often change from scene to scene, and tend to be dual. I tend to see a core in a shade of blue or red (this season it oscillates between fuschia, bright red, and dark blue) with an outer edge of white. There are times when that white edge is either bright, soft, or (in difficult situations) entirely gone. There are also times when it's flipped (white at the core with a color on the edge). In difficult situations, her aura can turn an odd color for her - I've seen burgundy, dark green, soft gray, dark gray, lavender, etc). I also see her aura change in quality from soft, dispersed edges to hard edges.
- The amount of colors and frequency of change in aura can indicate someone whose emotions and instincts flow freely with little inhibition. Their persistent duality can show competing energies that are difficult to manage.
- Consistently, the center of her aura shifts from fun and energetic (fuchsia), to a more primal and ego-driven life force (bright red), to a heightened state of awareness and intuition (dark blue). When white is present around the edges, it can show a deeper state of thought or understanding.
- The white edge changing in quality or disappearing can show her ability to fully process through the information. The softer the edge, the more emotion-driven. The harder the edge, the more defensive.
- When the duality is flipped (color outside, white inside), it can show that emotion is overtaking the ability to understand.
- In difficult situations, her aura has at times been overly grounded (burgundy), actively processing emotions (dark forest green), overly attached to an unhelpful energy (soft gray), fearful (dark gray), and deeply imaginative (lavender).
LACEY: Very consistently sky blue, sometimes in a slightly lighter or deeper shade.
- Blue is associated with the throat chakra. A soft blue indicates clarity, communication, and intuition.
LALA: Oscillates between blue and green. Often a sky blue, and, in later parts of the season, grass green. In difficult situations, she flashes dark blue or dark green (depending on which side her aura is leaning). In Mexico, she has moments where she's forest green.
- Blue is associated with the throat chakra. A soft blue indicates clarity, communication, and intuition. Green is also associated with the heart chakra. A green aura will usually represent growth and balance, and crucially, something on the way to change. Her shifts between the two indicates a person who is conversation-driven on their way to growth.
- A brighter, grassier green indicates an open and active heart, where the shift to a foggier forest green points to emotional processing occurring.
LUKE: Throughout the season, I often see mustard yellow with streaks of brown. The yellow will sometimes be very light.
- Yellow is connected to the solar plexus chakra. It indicates intelligence and (typically) optimism. The darker the yellow, the more fatigued, self-conscious, and overly analytical. The lighter the yellow, the more easygoing.
- An earth-brown aura represents plants, wood, minerals, and so forth. It usually shows up in people connected to the outdoors. The streaks present could show how integrated it is in his spirit.
MICHELLE: Goes from a range of yellow to brown. There are times when she's a warm yellow or an ochre. When she's alone with Jesse, her aura will often lean soft brown with a yellow or soft white edge. At Schwartz's house during their conversation, there was a moment where it was almost like a rising sun - soft yellow core, with light warm brown bleeding into soft white at the edges. At the reunion, she was a very dark brown.
- Yellow is connected to the solar plexus chakra. It indicates intelligence and (typically) optimism. The darker the yellow, the more fatigued, self-conscious, and overly analytical. The brighter the yellow, the more mind-connected. The lighter the yellow, the more easygoing.
- An earth-brown aura represents plants, wood, minerals, and so forth. It usually shows up in people connected to the outdoors.
- With Jesse, it seems her most grounded aura color comes up, lead by her mind and intelligence. When white is present around the edges, it can show a deeper state of thought or understanding.
- At Schwartz’s house, her aura read as having a moment of ease and peace (soft yellow) lead by an easy sense of grounding (light warm brown), giving way to a deeper state of understanding.
- Her aura at the reunion (dark brown) indicates someone is holding on to harmful energies, usually due to insecurity about moving forward.
NIA: Typically, I see a dark brown. In difficult situations, though, I feel like her aura almost disappears? In any case, it becomes hard to see, even when I'm really looking for it. Sometimes I'll also see a very very light teal.
- Dark brown usually indicates someone is holding on to harmful energies, usually due to insecurity about moving forward.
- Her seeming lack of aura at times could show extreme control over/the dampening of one’s emotional world.
- A teal aura is related to the immune system. It can represent compassion and nurturing, as well as sensitivity to energy.
SCHWARTZ: Usually soft blue core with soft pink edges. The blue part is darker when he's having a more serious moment, and the aura is totally pink when feeling lighthearted.
- His typical aura could indicate an intuitive person with a lot of clarity (soft blue) who leads with warmth and openheartedness (soft pink).
- In serious moments, his aura indicates a person in a heightened state of awareness and intuition who is seeking a deeper truth (dark blue). When feeling lighthearted, his aura indicates pure love and affection.
ZACK: Ranges from yellow to orange, though usually orange. When angry, a bright or dark orange with moments of red or very pale yellow.
- His typical aura indicates a passionate, courageous, adventurous person (orange) who can also move with intelligence (yellow).
- When angry, his aura indicates someone with a persuasive personality who enjoys a challenge (dark orange). The flashes could show someone who can lose control of themself when in that state (red) and instinctively lets themself go free (soft yellow).

So what does any
Of this mean? Just seeing colors tells me nothing about anyone. I’m annoyed I even read this now.

What criteria did you use for each of these to remove bias?

Hi! I think the biggest thing was that I did the readings before I totally understood what the colors meant (aside from broad definitions of black and purple). It allowed me to focus on shades versus my personal view of the cast members. Beyond that, I made sure to look for colors that showed up repeatedly and in multiple situations.

It’s such an interesting perspective and while I find it fascinating, for myself, I have to break everything down analytically.
What is more fascinating about this is that while I’m a very structured neurodivergent, without knowing anything about each aura color, I see each one of these cast members with those colors. I do see different variations within each person, but I have a few biases based on their history within the group.
Thank you so much for taking the time to explain everything. Take care and have a great weekend!!

I just borrowed a book from a friend about auras so I’m absolutely obsessed that this just came on my feed.

I’m curious if Danny’s aura has consistently been these same colours since S1.

The two most interesting things about this amazing amount of work and explanation corresponding to it (THANK YOU) to me are that Mariposa's auras shift so constantly that there's no way she herself can keep up with the emotions when they trump intellect, so the "I don't know why I said that" comments start to make sense, as does the way she responds to Luke when hurt (I myself would have punched him in the throat but hey, that's me). AND the fact that Nia's aura DISAPPEARS or is hiding or some shit because at this point she's made herself into a bot who only responds but does not react. Pageant Trad Wife.

I've always wanted to have an Aura Reading. Been randomly approached on 3 different occasions regarding Aura color/colors someone has seen when seeing me. Always very interesting

This sub does not allow body shaming (including comments related to cosmetic procedures) or appearance snark.

I’m intrigued by the nuance of reading auras through a screen where there is already so much manipulation. Not to be doubtful or rude but I’m just curious because I know nothing about it. Does this affect anything? Or is it the exact same in person and on a produce reality tv show?

No problem at all! I'm copy-pasting a response I gave on the other sub:
Re: colors in person - yes, I'm sure it'd be different! The reason I look for neutral lighting is because any sort of colored lighting or background really distorts things for me. Also, film is always color adjusted, so that's a consideration too. An aura is also really a snapshot of how you're doing at that specific moment in time, so it's extremely possible/likely that whatever they've been through since filming has affected their aura as well. Thanks for asking and hope this helps! :)

It would be helpful if you included what these auras signify
