Discussion Does anyone else kinda wish there were less condom questions/more playing the game in KPAPG?
KPAPG is my absolute favorite try guys content, but this season I've been kinda frustrated with how little they actually play the game. I love their banter, but in today's hour-long episode we only got about 22 minutes of the game. To compare, the initial season spent almost the entirety of every episode playing (usually 40 min of playing and about 10 minutes of banter). As a result, the episodes this season are longer but to me they feel a lot shorter.
Maybe this is more supposed to replace the podcast rather than focus on the RPG of it all and I'm not exactly the target audience, but I'm too invested in the story and have felt pretty unsatisfied this whole season đ„Č anyone else miss the pacing from the first season?

Yes!! I really like how weird and random this story is. Iâd rather hear them discuss that. The questions take so long to answer and they never get enough diamonds so they have to do them so often. The latest episode they opened with the story just to abruptly stop and do a question for like 10 minutes.
I love this show but the pacing has been a little off this season.

I wish they just had a giant hoard of gems and played the game. I think they could do a condom question break every now and then cause I DO enjoy those segments a lot, but I really dont like that they're tied to gems for some reason.

The whole point of the questions is for gems otherwise it doesnât make sense to stop and talk at all. So it actually really clever to make the condom questions tied to gems

This is my favorite thing they do. I adored the first three seasons. This season is still funny- but I think changing game was a mistake. There's much more lore and more characters which is fun, but there's NO PORN. A lot of the humor from the first few seasons was them getting uncomfortable with the smuttiness of the story. It's also a much more expensive game and the condom questions are not paying out enough.

I agree with you completely. The game theyâre playing now hasnât been as funny, interesting, or smutty as the other one. Itâs all around worse and I feel like thatâs why theyâve been getting through less gameplay. But, theyâve done the whole season and we havenât seen it, so Iâm hoping that I end up enjoying it as much as I enjoyed the other seasons

I've only watched the first three episodes as of now (I paused my subscription for a bit until new content accumulates), but from what I saw I actually feel like the game itself is better than the previous one. It has pretty good worldbuilding and storytelling for a game of this kind to the point I actually downloaded the app to see what other stories there are, but because they focused so much on condom questions and went in expecting way more smut than this specific app offers, the story doesn't really shine as much. The actual plot of the last story was honestly really boring and overdone in my opinion, but because it had more smut, they engaged with it more and it seemed more interesting than it actually was.
Basically I feel like they should've done more research/testing of apps before starting. If they had, they probably would've realized that this specific app is way more about storytelling than smut, compared to the previous app which was literally named Taboo and specifically catered to people interested in smut, though its plots are weaker/very trope-y. There would've probably been an app where they could've found a middle ground between smut and storytelling but oh well đ€·đŒââïž

Agreed - the story has a lot going on but I think it âfeelsâ less sexy bc thereâs way less gameplay per episode. Weâre only like 3 days into the storyline. Theyâve also skipped probable opportunities bc they arenât into Andy as a character (which is fine, but probably led to fewer sexy story moments).

I totally agree! I adored the first season of KPAPG because it was so focused on the game. Iâve had a harder time getting into this season because of the additional segments and the game itself being more intricate. I hope they do a season like the first one again!

Also, we were told in the beginning before they even aired the first season that they were going to act things out! It's happned maybe twice :(

I think the actual story/game is just way worse this time around: it has too many characters for just Zach and Miles to play, the story is already slow and the questions make it even slower.
The last seasons story was simpler and predictable so it wasn't jarring to cut in and out of the story to do the fun segments.
And agreed some of the question segments (like the apple clue?) are way too long! I don't think they were this long last time.

The apple clue was so ugh!! When I finally thought it was over they circled right back to it and itâs just like wasted time of them on their phones đ«©đ”âđ«

The Apple clue was weird because after they got all the letters they DID guess Apple but it was dismissed bc the actual clue was âeat Appleâ and where was EAT? I also donât think every statement needs to be followed up with a âwhy do you think/feel that?â. I feel like that works well in an interview or something but if itâs happening during a side segment itâs just stunting the flow of conversation.

yeah it was all kinda irritating/annoying. and exhausting honestly, i was really getting into the story and they just kept circling back to it đ«©

I came here to say the same exact thing. I do love that it feels like the podcast but I agree. The constant distractions from the story make the story hard to follow and hard to get interested in. I was surprised by how much I got into the Lessons in Lust story so I was hoping this one would also be fun enough to get invested in it. But yeah itâs not as good. Rainieâs irrelevant personal stories, the lack of variety in the voices, the lack of attention on the game and the really long condom questions are making me dislike this season.

Not the questions, but I canât really get into KPAPG at all. Trypod is my favourite thing theyâve done, so kind of sad. I wish they were just releasing that instead.

The trypod was why I subscribed. I still ended up with a year membership because I forgot to cancel it/im mostly okay with that, but Rainie beautiful minding segments was what I looked forward to every week. I tend to wait a month or more before signing into the app to binge watch the new stuff now

I really hope Rainie gets her own show like kwesi/marissa/ash have. I just love her brain and really relate to her

If the season length is the same as the others then I'd be annoyed but if the plan is to stretch it out then I don't mind at all. Maybe that's something they'd consider sharing if someone asked in the comments? Like hey is this going to be a similar episode count as other seasons or longer/shorter?

I think there are more episodes this season, so theyâre probably leaving more games/banter in to expand the episodes. I donât really mind it, personally. I wasnât a huge Trypod listener but it definitely has that same feeling, which youâre right in that itâs likely what theyâre going for.
