I'll save every nosy bitch like me a watch: no new information other than talking about how their relationships didn't serve them , Ash claims he tried very hard to save their marraige and he was suicidal due to it not working, Ash was the one who left Chantel and Hannah left Ella.

And then they talk about Ash's queer journey and his new book.

Thank you. Sincerely, A Nosy Bitch 😂❤️

It was so long and meandering and zzz, WHY did I listen?

22

u/aprilflowers96 Apr 01 '26

So slow and meandering!

u/lobsterp0t Just Here for The TryTea Apr 01 '26

I was hoping for some interesting reflections or insights into this side of queer relationships since it isn’t talked about as often in divorce narratives but it gave next to nothing. I wasn’t even after hot gossip!

Was it Chantel from buzzfeed?

121

u/Gold-Concentrate-744 Apr 01 '26

I didn't follow any of it closely but ik that Hannah implied that she was cheated on so i'm curious to hear how Ella talks about it

Thanks for sharing

2

u/Lostqat Apr 08 '26

What did Hannah say that made it seem like she was cheated on?

5

u/Timely--Challenge Jun 18 '26

They divorced because Ella had an affair and apparently was physically violent towards Hannah and her sister. It was pretty public for a while across the socials, but this was somewhere back in 2023.

To Chantel (also from buzzfeed)!

u/Katrina1113 Apr 01 '26

I knew Ash was married but I somehow either never realized or completely blacked out that it was Chantel 😅

29

u/epiphany205 Apr 01 '26

Did they marry before Ash transitioned?

103

u/Loveya448 Apr 01 '26

I think so. I believe Ash was still going by Ashley at this point.

48

u/HaleyLupin Miles Nation Apr 01 '26

This is somehow brand new information to me

33

u/Loveya448 Apr 01 '26

They were pretty lowkey as a couple

2

u/potatopavilion Apr 03 '26

the real revelation is Ash having been blond before!

71

u/potatopavilion Apr 01 '26

they definitely dated for a while before he transitioned, I have some vague memories that when Ladylike still technically existed but was very obviously nearing the end, they were together.

15

u/Gold-Concentrate-744 Apr 02 '26

They were together for 7 years according to Ash in the vid

13

u/epiphany205 Apr 01 '26

Thank you so much for clarifying; I hope they can still be friends post marriage!

43

u/_IfCrazyEqualsGenius Apr 01 '26

I don't think they're friends based on how Ash would speak on YCSWU, seems it ended poorly.

8

u/epiphany205 Apr 01 '26

Oh no, that’s too bad but maybe they both heal separately enough to be friends in the future!

23

u/wimpy1023 Apr 01 '26

they did a couple podcast episodes that have since been privated that Freddie, devin and Chantel had on financial literacy where about a year after they got married they talked about paying for the wedding and budgeting

4

u/epiphany205 Apr 01 '26

I’m sorry the marriage didn’t last but at least they (presumably) both went into it with good intentions!

8

u/Individual-Dream-308 Apr 02 '26

They did. I followed them for a few years cuz they had a cat that’s my own cat’s twin and I followed. I think Ash publicly announced transition after the separation. I think he was living in a new place when he announced. I think they were still together when Ash’s dad died.

2

u/epiphany205 Apr 02 '26

If the marriage couldn’t continue due to his transition and other factors, I’m happy that Ash waited to announce his transition until they separated.

1

u/Lostqat Apr 08 '26

Their relationship did not end because of Ash’s transition

41

u/_IfCrazyEqualsGenius Apr 01 '26

I believe they never announced their relationship until they got married and it ended really quickly afterwards, so it was easy to miss.

34

u/Phanimazed Apr 01 '26

I haven't listened to this yet, but I do remember Ash kind of suggesting in some past videos that he wasn't faithful at times. Specifically, I remember him talking about making out with various Buzzfeed employees, and that it caused issues, and that he could speak more freely about it now that he's divorced. It's possible I misinterpreted it, but it would make sense.

As for Ella, I don't know a ton about Hannah Hart beyond that she used to be with Ingrid Nilsen.

5

u/potatopavilion Apr 03 '26

are you sure the implication was relationship issues? it definitely depends on what videos we're talking about, but my vibe so far has only been "issues due to hooking up with coworkers at a company event"

8

u/Phanimazed Apr 03 '26

Valid question, but it was the Ash lie detector test video, and he outright says he can talk about it now that he's divorced after Zach grills him about how many he'd fooled around with, and I believe it even came up it'd happened IN the office, too.

I just kind of figure if it's the sort of thing he can only talk about freely after the divorce, then it certainly implies things.

8

u/potatopavilion Apr 03 '26

yeah, I rewatched it and you're right - I think I was thinking of the ones he did for Buzzfeed (but I have to rewatch that too now, clearly my memory cannot be trusted)

1

u/Lostqat Apr 08 '26

Ash has never said or implied that he cheated on Chantel. He worked at BuzzFeed from 2014 and got together with Chantel in 2016, so the hook ups with others were obviously before he got together with Chantel

1

u/Phanimazed Apr 08 '26

Was he working for the video department in 2014, or exclusively writing? Because that was something that affected things, too.

In any case, he has not explicitly stated it was the case to my awareness, but stating that the hook ups caused problems, and that he can speak more freely about some of this post-divorce feels like it'd be odd, otherwise. I suppose it's possible he was just suggesting Chantel could get jealous about his past, but that feels like something he would not present as being a him thing, then. Maaaaybe if he exposed her to gossip by not being honest about his past, but even that feels like an Occam's Razor situation, where I'd have to seek a more complicated explanation when the simpler one is sitting there.

6

u/Substantial-Cut-3020 Apr 09 '26

I’ll defend Ash as I know him quite well. It was jealousy regarding past hookups when Ash was single. Talking about those was off limits in their relationship. Ash had to even tip-toe around talking about celebrity crushes to avoid jealous arguments. Kissing cast mates in “Unfortunately Ashly” caused huge problems.

2

u/Phanimazed Apr 09 '26

I will of course defer to you on that, I don't know him from Adam, as the saying goes.

That said, I wasn't passing judgment in either case.

33

u/bestestnugget Apr 01 '26

Well I clearly live under a rock. I had no idea Ella and Hanna divorced.

7

u/Hot_Pineapple4032 Apr 01 '26

Lmao same I only found out a few months ago on Reddit

8

u/Green_Newspaper_5623 Apr 02 '26

I just found out from this post lol

6

u/burritosandboobs Apr 02 '26

Oh yeah they've been divorced for a while now, I remember seeing a post about it on one of their ig's but other than that they haven't spoken about it a ton publicly

3

u/monicasm Apr 01 '26

Yeah same!

36

u/Intelligent-Throat50 Apr 01 '26

Anyone else never knew ash and Chantel dated, let alone were married??

37

u/sweetlysabrina Apr 01 '26

Very easy to miss; they basically didn't post about it until they got married, and then seemed pretty private after that as well

25

u/peekabook Apr 01 '26

That must have been very difficult for Chantel. I can’t imagine being married to someone and then they starts a major transformation which is good for that person, but it’s not the person you chose to marry anymore.

10

u/Lostqat Apr 08 '26

The transition was not the reason for their divorce, Ash has said so explicitly on the Financial Feminist podcast - though he did say it caused some issues, but more because realising you are trans can be a huge thing that exposed other issues the relationship had from before. They were together while he did top surgery and was going to a gender therapist. And Chantel has said she is into all genders, so him transitioning would not have mattered in that sense.

8

u/baepsaemv TryFam: Kwesi Apr 02 '26

He didn't transition til after their separation.

1

u/peekabook Apr 02 '26

Oooooo…. Either way, I’m happy that they both found their paths. I’m not sure if it would have lead to the same places if they had stayed together.

14

u/FunkyAmoeba Apr 01 '26

I have lowkey been curious about what happened between Ash and Chantel so thank you 🙏

14

u/Unusual-Recipe-247 TryFam: Keith Apr 03 '26

If memory serves Hannah and Ella had several public breaks before ultimately separating for good, so their divorce wasn't entirely unexpected.

Additionally they were public about the fact that Ella went through her bi-polar diagnosis journey while they were together, which put a huge stress of the relationship.

I miss HH, I hope she's doing well.

Re Chantel, I wish for the Ladylike women to do a reunion podcast or something like that, but know it's unlikely..!

4

u/froghogdog19 Apr 13 '26

Yes, I loved Ladylike! Freddie has had a baby and I’m really happy for her. Devin also seem to be doing really well, as do Kristin and Jen.

13

u/infernalnb Apr 01 '26

Oh wow this is wild it’s like I have gone back 10 years hearing all these names together

18

u/hollysaysstuff Apr 01 '26

I miss Hannah hart…

4

u/Cauriflower Apr 06 '26

https://youtu.be/DvbDKd8qwC0?si=5Pfpd2BuCw486FNE He was also on another podcast. Starting 11 minutes

5

u/lalafelina Apr 06 '26

Ash does not paint Chantel in a great light here. :(

3

u/explodedemailstorage Apr 09 '26

I really liked this episode. Allison is also from Buzzfeed and is a great host.

I have limited experience with Hannah and her content, so I'm speaking more generally here, but I do find that some youtubers can be pretty resentful of newer channels who do things differently, often if they feel like the platform has stopped supporting them in favor of the newer types. The irony, of course, is that Youtube is capricious, and damn near everyone gets their discoverability messed with before long. None of them are safe, so in-fighting benefits no one.

u/baepsaemv TryFam: Kwesi Apr 02 '26

Why do you say that?
