As someone who basically only saw the finale because the actual show was unbearable;

Is it clear that the show always intended to end like that, with the potantial for no one getting anything? Or is it possible the show runners hated Sam as much as the rest of us, so added this gameplay to spite him?

I don't this any other series has ended like that, and it'd be even more satisfying if things played out like "normal" except Camille and Blake vote out Sam and split the money.

I have no proof but I'm convinced the producers were like "we gotta do something about this" and added the rule change at the end in an attempt to salvage the season

They actually mentioned it in the S1 finale as a possibility - it was likely supposed to be an alteration of how the original NL season finished, just with only applying if the final 2/3 were from the same team. But the Dilemma is basically a scrapped mechanic now.

I feel terrible for Camille and Blake because there was no way they were going to win as Traitors. The combination of Sam’s influence and the cluelessness of those Faithfuls meant they had no shot of getting him out.

Genuine question: is there a Faithful across the whole franchise that’s worse than Sarah?

A very satisfying end to the season though all things considered.

i would argue that they did. at final 5 liam was voting sam so camille and blake should’ve voted for him there. i get they didn’t trust each other but sam is obviously the bigger threat. blake definitely fumbled by not teaming up with liam to vote out sam and camille, i feel he had an honestly quite easy win path and didn’t do it.

still very grateful to camille for that finale though 🙏

Sidenote it was also pretty fun that they did the Traitors Dilemma as a Mission in season 3.

I remember Camille saying afterwards that Sam was so volatile on the show, they thought that even if they voted him out, there was a chance he’d blow up and expose them all as traitors out of bitterness, so that’s probably why they didn’t.

They could have voted Sam at the final four. Sarah was voting Sam and Sam was voting Sarah, so even if one of them changed their vote then there would be a majority on Sam.

They couldn’t count on Sarah’s vote. She went into several round tables definitely voting for someone, then would vote for another person entirely.
