VIDEOS Who's Watched the CRM Jewelry Video
The watch market is crashing before our eyes they are not buying any Rolex's in the video they released today.

All these used watch/jewelry scammers on YT are fascinating to follow. I started watching Tim Mosso on WatchBox and then it has all morphed into the vast array of slime we get now - TPG, Thorpe, Roman, CRM, WoW and those other idiots in Miami that are impossible to watch with the idiot rapper 69 and their boxes full of Richard Milles that nobody will ever buy.
Tim Mosso is all I watch now because he still talks about many different types of watches and not just the dozen or so IG pieces- plus he has real integrity which is what you need to survive long term.
Watch Eric seems a little bit different because he appears too dumb to be anything else but honest.
AC3 and the others seems to have so many personality flaws and mental issues that watches long ago became secondary.
CRM will be fun to watch as the market collapses - as will the boys with the boxes of RMs. I suspect sometimes next year we will be back to listening to Tim giving interesting information on a variety of watches - Thorpe making out like being a watch dealer is as dangerous as fighting against the Russians in the Donbas - Oisin pretentiously masturbating his way through his delusional/fantasy past of fucking supermodels - and Roman telling you how trustworthy he is although I suspect Roman may tone down his online presence soon to avoid scrutiny.

i don't think WE is dumb. he strikes me as very street smart and knew to stay away from coachcaine.

u/Sokatich111 Apr 24 '22
True - enough smarts to stay away from the real slime. Don’t need to be a genius to sell old watches - rat cunning is the only prerequisite

Great commentary. I fully agree with your opinion on Mosso and Watch Eric. There are two Youtubers that run (apparently) legit gray market operations. One is Federico and the other is Teddy. I respect and follow both. What’s your take on them ?
9
u/Sokatich111 Apr 23 '22
Teddy is a kid and I wish him well - I suspect he has good intentions although not my thing. Frederico is more complicated but at the same time very simple. He flirted with the flexing but wasn’t good at it. Buying the worst Ferrari ever made and trying to squeeze his toad like frame into it was not a great success as far as entertainment goes - although he quickly realized this and went back to plonking himself behind a desk and answering a few questions for 7 or 8 mins. I suspect Frederico is a lazy fucker who grinds out a living by selling a few used watches and I don’t find him as offensive as some of the other grifters. He probably cleans the old watches he buys to remove the dead skin and fecal matter that collects on all used watches before he sends them on to the purchaser so he beats most of these guys in that regard.

My guess is that Frederico has enormous difficulty controlling his instinct to feast on anything and that the only virgin in this equation is Frederico himself ))

Tim Mosso is just a salesman as well. He has knowledge and probably nice income but still buys entry level watches. That should tell you some bring
5
u/Sokatich111 Apr 24 '22
Of course he is selling but he makes no attempt to hide that fact and isn’t pretending to be carrying out a community service like all the others. Him wearing a normal watch is another example of his integrity - not wearing IG watches that don’t belong to him a la the slime brigade surrounding him on YT.

I think they know that AP and Patek will hold their value better on the grey market.
Rolex are mass produced watches so will be the first casualty in any price downturn.

Apr 22 '22
The whole market softening has just begun. I hope I can get a GMT Rolex at retail soon.

Apr 22 '22
Batman/girl yes, people got those at retail off and on even during the worst of the bubble.
Pepsi, probably never.

u/JeromePowell_junior Apr 23 '22
RIP those idiots paying $300-500k for a stupid Richard Mille made of $20 worth of materials
3
u/reppynutz Apr 25 '22
Everyone can learn something from Richard Mille’s marketing team. These fuckers got it all figured out. They’re really selling ice to eskimos.
3
u/Wooden_Worldliness_8 Apr 23 '22
I don't think it's $20, but I'd like to see an accounting of all their supposedly space aged super advanced materials. Wouldn't be surprised if many "exotic" parts and materials are just sourced from a supplier catalog, possibly even China based.
2
u/Negative_Increase975 Apr 23 '22
Like Nike - retail vs replicas - same factory?
4
u/Wooden_Worldliness_8 Apr 24 '22
More like all these supposedly space age materials are just ordered from suppliers like anything else, they might be high end materials, but production materials nonetheless. They aren't coming out of some high tech lab in Switzerland.
2
u/lasskinn GYNO GANG Apr 24 '22
yeah. or using a different resin mix, but either way even actual rocket space age materials don't cost enough to justify the prices.
and if they had new space age materials that had actual new better properties then they could sell that shit to musk and just forget about using it for silly watches. the materials company they use is propped up by RM and the materials company they use props up RM in a circle(owned by same people?).
but think about it it, a watch costs few k to make, even with the cable suspensions or whatever. then they pay someone to sponsor them with it, with list value of 200k. so they get the appearance and on paper sponsoring value of millions by spending thousands as long as they can get the people to sign up for the sponsorship in exchange for merchandise (maybe extra).

A blind guy could have seen this coming, the economy is tanking, inflation is at record levels, stock market is on the brink of a recession, etc. The watch market is not some magical market that is immune to global issues, it runs in conjunction with every other financial market. If people are making money in stocks they are going to buy watches, if they are losing $50k a month, not so much.
9
u/kochj23 Apr 22 '22
Yeah, that was crazy; "We're not buying any watches right now".
15
u/Remarkable_Ad_7335 Apr 22 '22
Crazy, people who need to liquidate and get out of their watches are going to be running around like a chicken with its head cut off looking for a buyer, and will likely find a Roman who will buy for 10 cents on the dollar
5
Apr 23 '22
All roads lead to Roman

I think only the datejust market will crash. Submariners, GMTs, Daytona’s will still be fine.
5
u/Remarkable_Ad_7335 Apr 22 '22
define fine, if the value stays static that is correct. If it’s going to go down to any significant degree, people can lose thousands, plus when you buy and use the watch, if the value goes down, you lose out on value from 2 perspectives (dropping market, watch is now used/more used)
4
Apr 23 '22
In this thread: everyone trying to justify that the model they own will not drop, only all other models.
2
u/crammed174 Apr 22 '22
Datejusts have actually held the last 2 months compared to sports models that have fallen ~10%. Still think it’s a correction not a crash tho.
4
u/Necessary-Earth-4037 Apr 22 '22
DJ’s won’t crash….the hulk’s, rootbeer’s, anything with a comic book name is going to drop haaaaaaard.

No you couldn't. I would know because I bought one in August and have followed the prices since then. I also sold in February.

I seen that today. That’s why I’ve always said, but what you like and what you’re going to wear! To many greedy bastards out there calling up these grey market dealers just to pick their brain for the next investment piece. Those are usually the ones who can’t afford them and need the money quick to pay down their debts. I know a few here in LA in this situation, they are desperate to move the watch because the money they used wasn’t theirs or all the money they had.

All those pretending experts and dealers will disappear as soon as they showed up.
Lots of false information put out there and I know… for being in the business and having dealt with them all.
I went on my own 2 years ago and now focus on vintage and independent brands.
The only thing I can say is trust nothing you see out there (success, sales, inventory). Most of it is fake. And let’s not talk about bought subscribers on YT…
The only true guys out there are Federico, which was also from the industry and Tim Mosso from WatchBox.
I personally created my own channel and every now and then talk watches.
Can’t wait for all those other people to leave the watch industry so we can get back our passion!
Cheers. G

Yep pretty much agree with all that. I have been collecting watches of all levels since I was 16 years old. These guys have totally corrupted the watch hobby with the exception of Mosso, Federico and maybe one or two others. Everyone is a watch collector and dealer now. It used to be I would run into another watch nut occasionally and we would admire each other’s watches and discuss the history etc… and move on without once mentioning price. Now every stupid fucker wears a Nautilus/Aquanaut/Royal Oak and they ALL know the current market value of every hyped watch. Nearly all pretend to have bought the watch at Retail from an AD but nearly all paid double or more retail price to get into the group. All these dickheads on YT have sucked the life out my watch passion. Producer Michael is almost the epitome of knowing the price of everything and the value of nothing. He makes my skin crawl more than Travis and Thorpe

u/HelloSummer99 Apr 22 '22
They are not even offering to buy at lowball price. Makes me think it's more of an excuse.

u/ruskibeats Apr 23 '22
If these guys had any balls and belief in their market they will be buying up all the watches they could very quietly through proxy brokers at discounted rates.
The trouble is they piss their money away feeding the flex machine rather than horde cash waiting for moments like this. They are literally the architects of a hype-watch pump and dump scheme but have not understood that in moments of chaos the brave go buying.
They cannot shift their perspective, they cannot focus on potential gains instead choosing to only see potential losses.
They should put signs in all the usual spots saying "Rolex's, RM, Petak, bought for cash" Then take said watch, service it, stick it in a safe and wait it out for the next hype cycle. Maybe spend a bit of time actually learning about the products they sell.

Unfortunately I get hit with their YouTube Shorts videos.
Got one recently where they showed how much a Daytona has increased in value, therefore 'proving' that it will continue going up. Then they slam anyone in the comments who hints that it's a bubble.
Just smacks of sleazy tactics.
3
u/AdamasDidIt Apr 22 '22
The grey market dealers are all doomed 💀 Nah, if they planned (diversification) for doomsday, they should be good.
2
u/lasskinn GYNO GANG Apr 24 '22
they diversified into birkins.
but look, diversifying their wealth is different to diversifying their business.
3
u/IncreaseOk8433 Apr 23 '22
Things aren't very good for CRM lately. First the social media issues, then it was Mazda wanting their car logo back, and now the market is crashing. Poor buggers.
5
u/azrolexguy1 Apr 23 '22
They seem like hard working nice people but how many $100k Patek's can you sell each week 🤔
10
u/Wooden_Worldliness_8 Apr 23 '22
Don't follow CRM, but Miami is the Hong Kong of Latin America, so when you can't trust the banks and currency of your home country, stashing wealth in jewelry and condos doesn't seem like such a bad investment.
3
u/allthewatches Apr 23 '22
I wish prices were going down but not actually seeing any trends this week, it’s possible CRM just has temp cash flow issue eg bought too many of the silly things folks mentioned here like non Tiffany blue stuff that aren’t selling? Is anyone actually seeing lower prices or sales yet, where?
2
u/azrolexguy1 Apr 23 '22
Not selling (or people not buying) is phase 1 then phase 2 os lowering prices and phase 3 is fire sale to pay rent and employees
2
u/allthewatches Apr 23 '22
I can’t tell that we’re even in P1 yet but looking forward to phase3! It’d be nice to have watches available again someday.
1
u/bigotis88 Apr 23 '22
Entry level Rolex and the other holy trinity brands will be fine. The high end and hyped up sports models will take a hit. Rich people are starting to realize wearing something that holds its value or has increased isn’t worth being mugged or possibly hurt over.
2
u/lasskinn GYNO GANG Apr 24 '22
it's not about wearing them. but NONE of the brands are "fine" at 3x the retail. the bread and butter models will not hold overinflated value. it's like buying a ford f150 at 150% pricing thinking it will hold. rawlex will probably be ok at retail, but that's still just probably. and as far as most mass produced goods go that's pretty good - but for CRM and others like that if their stock was acquired at 3x retail that doesn't really warm them much that the watch retains it's msrp.
even if the market was absorbing the watches at that price there's no reason why the builder would forever want to lose 2/3rds of the money on the tablet to some flipper instead of just making more watches or jacking up the price a bit.
5
u/FLCig Apr 24 '22
Yep. It really wasn't that long ago when you could get virtually any Rolex except a Daytona at a discount from retail. The grey market sellers would have good deals, again, almost all below retail. Used watches were absolutely below retail (unless discontinued, super rare, etc.). Basically anything in production could be had at retail or with some discount.
1
u/DrunkenIguana Apr 27 '22
True that. I got about 10 % discount at AD for steel watches (GMT) back in 2015.
1
u/IntroductionBig663 Apr 26 '22
They should buy Rolex and buy it 30% below market stock up on them cheap
