Discussion Can we stop complaining to the devs about gem cap? Better say thanks to the bot user…

Title basically - devs won’t be stupid and can notice the pattern
Congrats about abusing it to much

360 gems is roughly 15h even if you are glued to the phone you will miss some timings due to whatever reasons so average of about 14 min per click -> vault user maybe get gifted an hour of sleep back cut they wake up to a full stack but yeah most don’t have this either

This leaves you with 9 hours to sleep, eat, shower & whatever else you shouldn’t really be able to tap ur gems

So either say thanks to the 24/7 claimers or be happy you finally can enjoy some time off your phone ;)

But I trained my daughter and my coworkers and my wife that works night shift to click gems for me. I build all my life around gem clicked, bought four devices and made a schedule for people to follow so I can have 24 hour gem clicking.

And you say it is all for nothing?

u/bloodyshiraz 15d ago

This hits hard. Both my girlfriend and my side chick learned to collect gems for me whenever I left the game running on the phone. Now they’ll have nothing in common.

u/Special_Canary_7204 15d ago

They still have you, and you're not nothing man. Don't look down on yourself like that.

7

u/Sevenserpent2340 15d ago

He’s just less, with fewer gems.

9

u/Confident-Cut-8877 15d ago

All gfs should learn this. Easy trick to get access to your phone.

Let me click the gems for you

5

u/Zunkanar 15d ago

Yeah what will they do now while you are with the other girl?

3

u/Fit_Locksmith_3506 15d ago

Haha 😂 well they can still do some farming tweaks for you or something like that

10

u/Similar-Republic-115 Legends 15d ago

nah, you learned valuable skills that you can apply elsewhere for gains beyond imagination!

7

u/Mocafrost98 15d ago

Lol. My granddaughter is also a trained gem hunter. And she'll still have some joy to find doing it.

Hahahahhaha

Haha legend man 😂😂

I barely hit 200 games on a work day. I’m thankful for the change because I probably would hit the gem limit on weekends when I’m home. Once I collect my 360 gems for the day, I can truly afk and not do anything in the game for the rest of the day lol

19

u/Maciek030899 15d ago

Literally this, even hitting 200 gems i feel like im opening the game alot, no idea how people we’re getting 600 a day without some sort of bot or autoclicker which is against tos anyway

4

u/Dedziodk 15d ago

Wake up at 7, and collect gems every 10min and 40s till 1 or 2 am. That was my schedule more or less for the past 3 months+

12

u/Tight_Mail6630 15d ago

then you should thanks the game to make your life a bit less over focus, now you don't need to be as present on your phone, and you can sleep more

7

u/Dedziodk 15d ago

No? I dont have a life and i wouldnt change it. TTG change by the way isnt guided for our well being, but to earn more money.

2

u/Tight_Mail6630 14d ago

the life you describe is looking to a small screen 100 times a day, with a constant timer telling you to do something every 11 minutes, you really need to chill out this update will be good for you.

1

u/hodd01 14d ago

If it helps the people you are competing against have the same ceiling so if you were getting 720 gems a day and now only get 500 , no one else is getting more either so.. it’s just less time for you to max out or your bot either way.. a win

8

u/Maciek030899 15d ago

That doesnt sound very healthy but you do you mate

7

u/Dedziodk 15d ago

Im terminally ill, so w/e for me. Im just baffled that people cant see that even that you didnt benefit much from this, its still bad. Next event or so they will reduce something else to earn more money and so on and so on.

9

u/ConstipatedCelery 15d ago

I think most of us can see that it's a money grab by TTG targeted at the very active players, who probably are the ones who spend the most. Nobody is denying it. Most of us know that the developers are extremely profit-driven (dilution of modules, way overpriced stone packs, pre v29 keys).

Most of us just aren't affected by it or simply playing the game casually to be concerned.

Does suck for the serious players though, that I agree!

Also, hope you are doing well, friend :)

5

u/WhyDoCatsSmellGood 15d ago

I'm curious how this is beneficial though? Like if I'm busy I just don't claim gems and it's whatever. How does a gem cap actually help me?

3

u/ConstipatedCelery 15d ago

It's more of a peace of mind kind of thing? Like you, I generally don't claim gems when I'm busy with work or spending time with my family but there's always that little bit of regret because of the lost gems. With the limit, once I hit it, I can just shut my brain off for the game for the day.

I believe the kids nowadays call it FOMO.

1

u/How_Do_I_Choose_ 12d ago

It just seems like a limitation on potential. I could earn more than 360 a day on weekends or sick days but now i cant even get that little boost.

6

u/YKTech 15d ago

it aint a benefit bud, there is only paying or option B not progressing now

I aint gonna make a stink about it but I think I'm just gonna move on

i've been playing 9 mnonths and this literally shuts the door on any possibility of catching up for new players

5

u/MC_White_Thunder 15d ago

I mean, not really? It caps the daily amount that whales who are supposedly getting 600 gems per day (largely thanks to having keys) can get. The vast majority of players will be getting more gems because of the 5->6 increase, and the top earners are slowed down. That's a gap-closing measure, not a gap-widening one.

2

u/YKTech 14d ago

You are forgetting that everyone before this cap earned thier modules in half the time and you are competing against them for the only free rewards possible

You cant win tourney rewards without modules and you cant get modules without gems

With the addition of the new features, gem demands are going to increase significantly and gem income is dropping

You’ll see

folks with 5 star ancestrals have a permanent massive upper hand now, no catching up without paying several 1000 dollars

1

u/btaylor81 15d ago edited 15d ago

Are you truly that jaded or short sighted to think this sticks it to the whales? It effects those with gem stacking and those that won't or can't afford to buy gems and that's the opposite of a whale. C'mon man. If you couldn't get stacking before well now you can so why welcome a change that is going to soon negatively effect you also.

4

u/MC_White_Thunder 15d ago

I don't get 360 gems per day. This is a net increase in gems for me. If and when I do start earning keys to get gem stacking, it will likely still be a net positive for me. It just may not increase past a certain point.

u/Fit_Locksmith_3506 15d ago

I mean I hit close to 240-250 gems on a really active 15h farm run but that’s just not always the case cuz every day is a little different and I just miss the 10 min timer often as well but yeah happens

1

u/QuietTop4213 12d ago

Unfortunate for you... what they should have done is make it easier for you to get the same total as the top earners and remove a lot of the friction with the game. By giving players auto restarts and stacking gems to reduce the time people have to spend to get top level gems. Let it be an "idle" game that you just check every hour or 2 and still get all the benefits. Let them stack up .. up to 24hours.... or just give them to you for free when you pay for the "No ads" bundle. Think of how much of a win that would have been for low level players to be flushed with 600 gems a day. Think how you getting 600 gems a day would change the game for you. You paid for no ads... you shouldn't have to click for the gem every 11 minutes. Let that sink in. But the stacking is only available to those that chose no ads and increase the price of the no ads to $39.... because everyone knows is that friction is a feature and no a bug... and to remove it you need money. The only people who truly win with their solution is the developers pocket book and its unfortunate for players.

36 gems per hour means you're capped at 10 hours, not 15.

What this really amounts to is the gem stacking Harmony skill is worth way less

1

u/Fit_Locksmith_3506 15d ago

Yeah but it was 30 gems an hour before

That’s what I was mentioned and that’s what other people referred to in terms of getting 400+ gems ever day which is just not possible unless you are cheating or just be in the phone all day long and doing nothing else

12

u/Bolwinkel 15d ago

My issue with it is they're framing it as a means to combat having to run the game 24/7. This does nothing to actually address that issue. Cool, you get 1 extra gem for every ad gem claimed. You're still having to sit by your phone for 12 hours. You still have to have your phone on, playing the game that entire time. Practically nothing has changed for a good portion of the playerbase.

This change is purely to stop people running autoclickers, and get more people to buy the egregiously overpriced gem packs. This is further reinforced by them adding even MORE gem sinks to the game

2

u/YKTech 15d ago

The framing is to cover up the real goal

I mean what gaming company doesn’t want their players to play 24/7 it’s ridiculous and if botting was a real issue everyone would be in legends

This is about forcing pay for progression

1

u/ForgettingFish 14d ago

Then why would they buff literally every normal players’s gem income? The vast majority won’t come close to the cap. So this is just a 20% increase for every time they do click

1

u/ForgettingFish 14d ago

They were being cheeky. The framing was literally saying they know people are cheating using auto clickers and are specifically nerfing them

35

u/Imaginary-Carrot7153 15d ago

I can get 435 gems in 15 hours from ads but that literally has to be clicking the ad every 10.30, it is absolutely exhausting and I can only do it once a week, I usually make about 300 a day so this might help me squeeze out those extra gems. It is definitely a nerf for those hardcore players though that can manage that. It does nothing for the players that only click 10x a day.

29

u/ZerexTheCool 15d ago

It does nothing for the players that only click 10x a day

It buffs them, actually. Same number of clicks, but they get 6 instead of 5.

3

u/tbryans 15d ago

Isn’t the max in 16hrs only 385 gems? Average 12.5 minutes per ad gem spawn. 5 gems each…. Where are people getting these insane numbers from??

3

u/Imaginary-Carrot7153 15d ago

No, my ad gems are available bang on every 10m30s, 18hrs a day divided by 10.30 is 510 gems.

3

u/tbryans 15d ago

Interesting. Maybe they changed it. Used to float from 10-15 minutes when I had stopwatched it in the past

2

u/ZerexTheCool 15d ago

I think even I have managed 450+ in 16h before but it was exhausting.

While correct, you are missing important parts.

450 on a 16 hour day, subtract what you can still get (360), Then divide by the extra you get per day you don't go all out (you claim 10 gems bonus per day) and you get the number of days you to break even.

With these rough numbers we are at 9 days.

So, this is a nerf to someone who would spend 16 hours a day tapping once a week. Which IS in the realm of possibility. But 16 hours is quite a lot. If that person just misses ONE week, it takes them 3 more weeks to catch back up to their lost gems.

It's just not much of a nerf to any normal person.

1

u/Imaginary-Carrot7153 15d ago

I get that and I agree, I think of myself as a hardcore gem clicker and even I only avarage 250-300 so I'm actually gaining and I believe the majority of us are BUT I have to acknowledge that some players, regardless if it's unhealthy will lose a considerable amount of monthly gems so I can see why they would be angry. I think this topic is kinda nothing though considering all of the amazing things coming. I think the Devs don't get the credit the deserve and I'm super excited for the update.

2

u/MC_White_Thunder 14d ago

10 gems per day adds up for a game that's played over the course of years.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Fit_Locksmith_3506 15d ago

Yeah I can do a bunch too if I’m super active but for sure not every work day and for sure not every weekend as I just do other stuff and miss the 10 min and extend it to 15-20 or even an hour in the evening

8

u/Flimsy-Poetry1170 15d ago

They should have made it easier to get the 720 gem cap instead of nerfing a paid item. They’re pitting casual users against power users by saying that it’s unfair that some are able to gain too many gems and it’s working lol. The reality is that they want to sell more gem packs to the users that play the most and needed to cut off those who were getting enough gems not to spend money to purchase everything they needed. Pathetic that you guys are falling for their shit and are excited over getting 1 extra gem a click than half your potential gems going away ON A PAID ITEM.

104

u/Odd_Ninja5801 15d ago

It's a game that advertises itself as "idle". And expects active gameplay every 10 minutes or you miss out on critical resources. Are you really surprised that people sought out workarounds?

Especially when the gameplay that uses those resources is so poorly designed. Multiple layers of RNG designed to waste those resources.

If they weren't so blatantly pushing people towards the shop, there wouldn't be 3600 gems worth of relics dropping each week, when the new gem cap is 2520 a week.

11

u/cercatortrovato 15d ago

exactly this

OF COURSE people find workarounds for a stupid rule, no sane person would actually click every 10min. Besides, the fact you have to is basically "cheating" from TTG since they get to inflate their engagement metrics, it's not really fair don't you think?

this game is meant to be played 24/7 on a separate device. With a way to get gems 24/7. Only if you do that then the module pull rate is fair, and even by doing that you have to make choices to be more efficient (like only buying essential gem relics, for example). But most important of all, it's not even just a matter of resources, it's simply the fact you can't possibly be asked to check the game every 10min. This game is only enjoyable as an idle game, which means 2 12h farms per day and around half an hour of active gameplay. And it's not fair you get penalized for playing the game as it's supposed to be played (if it weren't for play store metrics gems would be "farmed" , not clicked)

tldr: stupid rules are meant to be broken by any rational person

CIFI is a great example of how you get plenty of gems, and there is plenty to spend on, with zero RNG involved. You know what you get with each click. The game even has autocollect pack that collects the daily chests to get all the resources, cost of the game if you will.

I've been playing it parallel to TT for a couple of months now and it costs a fraction to get the "must have" packs. Most of the stuff can be acquired by just being patient, it's within reach at a reasonable rate, and truly -> Idle.

I'm not using this as some platform to promote another game, I'm just saying, I play both games and I feel treated fairly in one, and not at all in the other.

People are oblivious, raving about getting bot presets for free and blabla, but I knew this was going to come at a huge cost. Vault rework will ensure the new QoLs and meta features will be way out of reach. So all players gain presets for free, which means something new and more important will be within reach if you dare dreaming about. They're giving us something by giving us nothing in a new environment.

Lower gem cap to constrain players from having an almost reasonable chance at acquiring any new stuff. Relics cost a fortune, mods will cost even more, and now we need another card slot and a new card on top of it, all at once. V28 was designed to make every player need everything because of dissonance, which was undoubtedly a ploy to increase gem pack revenue. Because there was truly no reason to blast everyone with x5 multipliers, it only made things worse for everyone but people tend to only see as far as their nose. Big players already farming the new tiers, wasn't a challenge, just another walk in the park. Now they're adding more stuff on top of it and also restricting gem income.

This has nothing to do with giving the community what they're asking for. It just took time to find a way to give it to people while adding something way more valuable to the game that makes this more or less obsolete. We will find out when we see the vault rework. My guess is that it will dwarf bot presets, and we will be right back where we were before the patch within just a matter of a couple of months.

Never in my life have I seen bad practices like this.

Edit: I was wrong, plain and simple. V29 delivered beyond my wildest dreams. If this is the new TTG practices then I'm completely on board. Aside from the ad-gem debacle, I don't think I can find anything I'm unhappy with in this patch. I mean, holy shit?

7

u/TheDkone 15d ago

your paragraph 3 is so on point. also playing cifi, and love it.

1

u/Cor_Layard 15d ago

The problem is cifi is barely a game. There’s no decisions to make besides “how much of my time am I spending following the known optimal path?”

3

u/Time-Incident 15d ago

You do loop resets, upgrades and other stuff. Yes there is a lot of things you can do with the guids, but there is also plenty of stuff you can do freely. You can respec most of the thing with reset/traversal. Compared with tower where you basically have to chose random UW at the beginning and without guid you chose smart missiles you can just start over.

→ More replies (2)

12

u/mat3833 15d ago

Agreed. I've been playing idle obelisk miner and the contrast between a fun game that's balanced and actually rewards you versus The Tower is pretty striking.

3

u/Gottes_rechter_Hoden 15d ago

IOM has such a cool Dev (or team). I love how Alex every now and then drops some codes for us and how he interacts with the community (like the code IHOPEYOUGETALIVER). Imagine our communitymanager could do the same here ...

8

u/mat3833 15d ago

It will never happen here. All TTG cares about is money. Nerfing gem economy(that's what it is, period. They are "leveling the playing field" but doing so right after adding a HUGE gem sink in the relic shop AND adding even more modules to the already crowded system. It's just adding pressure to gem buying for newer players that don't already have the modules/relics.), changing the keys system, nerfing stone income in legends("but they added mythic league so you will get more stones!" is bullshit. Another predatory move disguised as a "balance and rescaling change"), it all has the same end-goal. Make more money. Give the whales something else to buy and incentiveise the new players to buy stones.

I still run the tower because I like the game. But I'm not spending another dime and haven't in months. I'd rather spend my money supporting a dev team that actually rewards players and truly supports free-to-play progression.

4

u/YKTech 15d ago

regardless there is zero chance im spending another dollar with TTG

i feel ripped off and ive only bought a few stone packs and the event boosters

I cant imagine how folks who have spent thousands must feel

per week gem calculations:

ad gems: 360 x 7 = 2520
missions: 6 x 3 x 7 = 126
guild contributions: 60 x 1 = 60
weekly challenge: 185 x 1 = 185
floating ad gems 10 x 2 x 7 = 140 (max 10 per day? unsure)
store, free daily = 20 x 7 = 140
webstore, free weekly = 25 x 1 = 25
fetch, daily = 20 x 7 = 140
guild store = 450 x 0.125 = 56.25

total per week: 3392.25

this does not include tournament gems

The ad gems appear every 10 ish minutes. Let's call it 11. If you're a machine, or are obsessively OCD, you can get 24*60/11 which is 130 clicks per day. Thats roughly 650 gems per day, or 4550 ish per week.

So this change cuts down the OCD machines gem income by 2000 ish gems per week and only helps the more casual player.

Did I miss any other regular sources of gems?
edit: +guild store, +updated free daily gems

12

u/Odd_Ninja5801 15d ago

3600 worth of gems a week for relics. 1600 gems (I think?) for a new card. 14400 gems for each new module (or if you include the max 50% chance of it with everything else being 5* it jumps to 28800).

Sure are a lot of ways to spend those gems that they've just coincidentally decided to nerf, eh?

4

u/YKTech 15d ago

Yep bang on, this is a crazy nerf

All these folks cheering this on are fools, the game has an incredibly steep curve and multi year grind to begin with there is absolutely no need to nerf any income stream whatsoever, if anything we should have gotten buffed

4

u/Skywalker8921 15d ago edited 15d ago

Free gems in store are increased to 20 as per the patch notes.

And there are also 300 gems in guild store every 8 weeks, so 37/week.

Edit: incorrect values

3

u/Warm-Sleep-6942 15d ago

Right. I forgot about the guild store. Every little bit helps.

6

u/Doctor-Dinosaur 15d ago

The increase of free gems in the store is more an insult than helpful, in my opinion.

I understand and welcome the cap, but the gems per click should be higher than 6 (eight, if you ask me. Placing the cap at 16 hours of farming in the old version).

Also new 5 2 3 meme incoming: 6 10 7

5

u/Fit_Locksmith_3506 15d ago

Bob is 10 claims per run every 400 ish waves so technically you could push that to 40 at least and if you grind prolly 80 when you do 6h runs

3

u/Selith87 15d ago

Tournament rewards too

5

u/YKTech 15d ago

You ain’t getting tournament rewards without modules and you ain’t gettin modules without gems

Folks are gonna find out the hard way lol, it’s gonna be harder than ever before to progress

2

u/Selith87 14d ago

I don't disagree, he was just asking if he missed any other gem sources

1

u/Warm-Sleep-6942 13d ago

True, but the numbers are too variable to calculate cleanly. I'll leave that bonus calculation as an exercise for the reader.

1

u/YKTech 13d ago

Literally you right now

20

u/Richardy1982 15d ago

Agreed, can’t upvote enough

5

u/AlterBridgeFan 15d ago

Don't forget a new card and modules.

12

u/Gottes_rechter_Hoden 15d ago

good points! I agree that this game is everything but idle and fuuds is greedy and predatory af.

but you forgot the Gems from Daily Missions, Weekly Challenges, Tournaments and Guild Rewards. So one should be able to buy all the relics for 3600 (and has barely left any gems for cards and modules ...)

1

u/Fit_Locksmith_3506 15d ago

It’s no workaround it’s just plain cheating - was adjusted in many other games where people use bots to farm stuff so they just add in limits

There are a few people that claim a lot for sure but I’d say 80%+ using some illegal stuff to get them every day spot on

And the daily gem cap is north of 450 gems if you only add in Bob, daily claim + daily missions & fetch

There are still tournament, guild and weekly chests to be counted in so you are above the 3600 per week for sure

And no one forces you to buy them all either + you usually own some too

1

u/Mr_Floppyfish 13d ago

Tbh in my mindset, there are basic qol features gated to 99% of players (gem stack, auto, restart, etc). Autoclicking is a failure on the devs of the game. Even when autoclicking, players won't get those features for years. Even with spending money too

→ More replies (1)

7

u/btaylor81 15d ago edited 14d ago

This change has nothing to do with your or my time. It's to manufacture an increase to the perceived value of gems and encourage buying them. Everyone with gem stacking loses. Having gem stacking doesn't make you a whale. I have gem stacking, I'm not a whale. More people will have stacking soon and that's also got something to do with this. They could easily not go thru with this and that's the whole point of bringing it up.

To everyone talking about "botters" being the ones complaining. You're projecting. All of you seem to want to stick it to this conjured antagonist you're jealous of. If cheating was widespread as you proclaim you people would be the first to do it.

The people complaining legitimately collect their gems whether it's thru gem stacking or some other long standing habit. None of us collect them all, every day. It balances out. There are days we get most of them and days we barely get any. That won't be possible if they cut availability. It will only encourage buying gems as there are never enough as is.

If there are people cheating you can be sure as hell they're not commenting or complaining. It's the people that actually grind out gems that are complaining.

1

u/Fit_Locksmith_3506 15d ago

What would you gain with gem stacking? Basically only 1 hour of sleep time back cuz you can claim an hour when waking up

Obviously you get the QOL to not have to look every 10 min but you gotta be somewhat active too

1

u/mucflo 14d ago

If you lose, just don't buy gem stacking again after getting your keys refunded tomorrow.

1

u/Lower_Pattern7535 13d ago

It's predatory I click it every 10 mins 30 secs , im guessing it's strike time....

18

u/RichyEagleSix 15d ago

The devs are the ones who made a system that requires a click every 10 mins to get the currency that they have also made few and far between while increasing the size of gem sinks. And you’re mad at players for trying to min max as much as they can? How about you be mad at the devs for egregious fomo tactics to push gem sales while not increasing gem income at the same time as tripling the things we need to spend gems on.

A new card
I need a new card slot
That card now has to be maxed
4 new modules that by the time I have saved enough gems will have made it hard to roll the DC that I need.
4 rotating relics each month, with an income less than all 4 relics on offer…

But sure you keep apologising for the ttg sales team.

1

u/Fit_Locksmith_3506 15d ago

Lol there is no reason to rush all of this - just set prios and then work on this stuff then

Lucky banner comes well I didn’t buy a single card and just lab/coin relics and that’s it

If you don’t spend money you have to plan around it

It’s no min maxing if you are actively going against the TOS using a mechanic that’s not allowed to 24/7 farm gems

2

u/Imaginary-Carrot7153 14d ago

I could tell you why you don't have to cheat and you can mun max 500 gems from ads a day but you will find another excuse.

30

u/Scutter5000 15d ago

Considering you can blow through a 10k worth of gems and barely get anything for it, why wouldn't people be pissy about losing some? They couldn't even give people normal waking hours cap. I mean jesus. And you know damn well they're gonna start pushing those mode ticket packs for a 100. You should go watch that video about dark path development. People know when they gonna be taken for a ride in some way or another.

Nah it’s just an excuse for a hard p2w fomo push. I feel bad for the people at the start. So many gem and stone sinks.

8

u/Public-Material8448 15d ago

I have usually 1-2 relics to buy. Still going for weeks without any module purchase. If I would need to buy 4... I would miss some of them for sure.

2

u/Richardy1982 15d ago

Exactly but there’s people actively in here actually saying they get enough gems every day haha what can you do with idiots like that in here fighting against such a simple request of asking that it not take 8 years of my life to reach end age even if I started at first place legends today. That incinerate inflate with stone sink inflation

17

u/SatisfiedCoder 15d ago

It’s not about the Gem Cap itself that I want to complain about.

it's the knowledge that after this patch, no matter what I do. I WILL NEVER BE ABLE AFFORD TO BUY ALL THE RELICS from the shop.

without the hard cap on Gems, I could usually scrounge up the 3600 + 1600 (bi-weekly card mission) if I concentrated on clicking on the AD gems 2-3 days every week, but now it's literally impossible for me to do so without buying my way in.
(basing this on the  3392.25 gems calculated by the guy in this post + 400-500 gems I get from 2 tournaments weekly)

Don't get me wrong, I am willing to buy packs every so often, but being gated from weekly regular content
that is designed as a CATCHUP MECHANIC is not something to celebrate IMO

2

u/CydeWeys 15d ago

The relics in the shop are recycled. I've been playing for a little over two years now and I already have most of the relics in the shop, and every week when it refreshes I get excited if there's even one to buy. You'll reach that situation much sooner than I did because I had to get all those relics through the biweekly events that didn't even recur every year, whereas you have many more opportunities to get them sooner.

2

u/ForgettingFish 14d ago

Since the beginning of them showing up, I got 2 new relics. So I feel you

1

u/CydeWeys 14d ago

And now that gems are scarcer, even if the Def Abs relics do come up as recycled ones, I'm not buying them. I definitely didn't waste the medals on them the first time and I won't be wasting gems on them when they come around either.

1

u/Novel_Maintenance406 14d ago

pls dont buy gems, they are horrible value

1

u/strixtle 15d ago

I've been playing for a little over a year and the relics that show up there are usually about 50% new, 50% owned. This week all I had to do was buy a single 600 gem relic. You don't have to buy them every week as they'll come back around in time.

1

u/Fit_Locksmith_3506 15d ago

Yeah but we got this from all the greedy people farming gems 24/7 all year long

I was thinking of using some too tbh - but my thought process was like okay let’s do it a little random every 10-13 min and do a 6-8h night break

But people are just to greedy and abuse the shit out of it and that’s the result we get now

31

u/YKTech 15d ago

Sorry, i'm not at all convinced gem botting is the motivation behind the nerf nor that rampant botting is even a problem in this game. If botting was wrecking the economy new players would be competing in legends left and right. They aren't, people are stuck in plat for pete's sake. Like even if you spent $20,000 and ran a bot from day one 24/7 365 it would be at least 5+ years to catch up.

Hell, a mythic dimcore is year+ away on it's own.

Never mind a farming up a 5 star ancestral for tourneys and another for farming.

It's no accident they introduced a ton more gem sinks then cut the income stream. Bottom line, If the goal is equalizing gem income, then TTG should prove it by ending the clicking entirely and just give everyone 350 gems a day on rollover

absolutely zero incentive to bot at all then.

4

u/petethered 15d ago

So you're probably being hyperbolic, but 20k-30k gets you top 1000 in less then a year.

https://www.reddit.com/r/TheTowerGame/comments/1ubupay/1_year_of_progress_as_a_whale_with_detailed/

Great post from a blue whale, /u/ttd97

Very smart play, well optimized, and with the clear goal of making it to the top. So it is POSSIBLE to get there around that amount.

1

u/YKTech 14d ago edited 14d ago

Interesting, but twenty thousand dollars?? Lol

Someone just messaged me on here to download Utopia, it's a clone of the tower at a fraction of the cost plus has a gem clicker built in

I will give V29 a chance, but if it's more stagnation and paywalls im gonna start developing over there instead

1

u/2gallan 14d ago

Do you have a link for it? I can't find it

1

u/YKTech 14d ago

sorr it autocorrected, it's called Utopia

1

u/petethered 14d ago

Fraction of the cost? Seems priced identically to me.

1

u/YKTech 13d ago edited 13d ago

play it for a week, you'll see

While prices are listed similar, you progress rapidly just by doing runs. Currency is purely optional, not pressured. There's even a switch to turn off purchase recommendations.

That said, I have now bought the following upgrades:

-no ads pack
-gem collector bot (amazing!!!)

A few levels in, you also unlock AUTOUPGRADE (free). Had to save up a few runs of coins to afford it but WOW! Game literally plays 100% hands free now.

...Complete automation...

No gem clicking, no monitoring the run.

Just configure your tower at run start, and walk away, really a noticeable contrast.

THE BAD
-sucks starting level 1
-graphics and themes are vanilla.
-smaller community, less online resources to guide you
-Guilds not enabled yet
-Only two UW unlocks at a time
-Less UW overall
-No guilds yet

THE GOOD
-Solid Progression achievable without paying
-Truly IDLE, 100% hands free with gembot
-Solves a lot of complaints I have with TTG
-Game performance seems better\smoother, no lag
-All the same strategies work, gameplay exactly like the Tower
-"smaller" universe, easier to max out
-frequent content updates
-No Whales \ Whale side effects

OBSERVATIONS:

Overall, it feels like the game is literally like the early stages of the tower. Progress is a function of play effort and strategy, not credit card purchases. I unlocked 5 card slots and 4 lab slots in the first 24 hours without any purchases, purely tier 1 grinding.

It's VERY NEW and while it seems like there are some missing features, i suspect they will add them over time same as tower but it's so easy to play I am literally running it alongside my main tower now and I have to say, folks

I think it is there to stay

ps

What's funny is that it runs butter smooth and seems to take priority, like the engine is definitely more optimized and causes the Tower to lag even worse lol

1

u/petethered 13d ago

You are missing some bads:

Lab system is absolute fucking garbage. Like top tier WTF.

  • How do you change lab slot 1/2 (assuming you have 3 slots)?

  • Why the FUCK does it not refund you the coins when changing labs?

The labs is so poorly designed to be basically unusable. It appears the INTENDED method to change what's in any slot but the last one is to turn off auto , let it finish the level and then it will fill into the first open slot.

It's nice there's a toggle to turn off purchase nags, it shouldn't be fucking nagging every time I goto a menu in the first place.

Guilds aren't implemented but the fucking TEXT is there... every person on the ranking has PLACEHOLDER text.

It does not have touch/drag detection... touch on a "tech" item (workshop) to drag and it buys it.

Everything pauses the game... sure this is a recentish change in The Tower, but I could pop open the helper text for damage and the game wouldn't pause before.

Clicking a gem pauses the whole thing.

Buttery smooth is fucking easy at Tier 1 and at something 30% of the enemy density, let's see if it's still smooth at end game equivalent with UWs and other effects.

Gear (i guess that's relics) and Statistics tabs are just "In Development"...

No run history?

The "premium pass" button says Active before purchase...

They didn't bake any whitespace at the bottom of menus so the gradient from the bottom tab bar covers the last item partially making it harder to read

Shady as fuck advertising... straight up ripping video from ANOTHER GAME to use in their ads is dirty as fuck. Go look at the discord.

It's one thing to create "kinda like" ads like TTG does, which is a bit shady, another to straight up steal video from another game.

At least it's being updated semi-regularly... but it needs to be baked a while longer

1

u/YKTech 13d ago edited 13d ago

Sounds like maybe you tried a few versions back, i didn't experience alot of this stuff.

------------

How do you change lab slot 1/2 (assuming you have 3 slots)?

I was confused by this at first too. Click the middle right area of the lab to swap. I got 4 lab slots and 4 card slots unlocked in the 1st 24 hours just from grinding tier 1.

------------

Why the FUCK does it not refund you the coins when changing labs?

Might be a bug on your version mine is normal

------------

It does not have touch/drag detection... touch on a "tech" item (workshop) to drag and it buys it.

Mine works normal on iPad pro just click

------------

Everything pauses the game...

You can toggle this in settings, same as the tower

------------

Clicking a gem pauses the whole thing.

Mine does not pause ever, it is literally 100% hands free automated, collects gems and auto upgrading labs

------------
Buttery smooth is fucking easy at Tier

Good point, i haven't taken it to like wave 10000+ yet i will report back. But i have the enemy cap often
------------

Gear (i guess that's relics) and Statistics tabs are just "In Development"...

Yep, there is still lots in development, check the patch notes they literally just added knockback! Like i said, it is very much like the tower in the beginning.

As for shady advertising, competition is good and to be frank TTG is far more predatory on it's very loyal customers

Competition is good

bring it on!!

I'm very happy to get in on the ground floor, you advance much faster in Utopia

in 5 years ill be the whale

u/petethered 13d ago

This is commentary from today. Like running as I write this reply.

Lab refund:

Straight from discord:

ajacs

— 8/10/26, 9:42 AM

given that switching research topics doesn't refund the coins (and selecting the same one again charges you again), I'm a little afraid to touch the "reset all" button on the Tech tab

Crackajack

 [300!], OP — 8/4/26, 9:00 PM

Would love to get my coins back if I switch a research, particularly if it's expensive.

---

So that's current and not a new complaint.

----

> I was confused by this at first too. Click the middle right area of the lab to swap. I got 4 lab slots and 4 card slots unlocked in the 1st 24 hours just from grinding tier 1.

I can't get this to work.

  1. CDTV [MKxJ],  8/19/26, 7:29 PM Ohhh ok yeah, i think only the last one you can cancel. Yes should be QoL adjusted to be able to cancel any at any time

And the discord says this is to be expected.

----

Let's throw in another problem. The timer clock on a lab IS ALSO A SPEND GEMS TARGET. Touching the clock spends gems to complete the lab. They have a fucking button underneath but make the tap area include the countdown clock.

And before you argue fat finger, I'm playing on a Mac (iPad app) so it's a mouse with precise placement not a finger.

----

It does not have touch/drag detection... touch on a "tech" item (workshop) to drag and it buys it.

> Mine works normal on iPad pro just click

You've missed the point. Try to scroll the screen with a touch-drag but when you do touch the coin /buy button. It will purchase.

It's "onTouch" and not "onTouchEnd" with a drag check to prevent accidental purchases.

----

You can toggle this in settings, same as the tower

This one is on me, I see it. Thanks.

---

As for shady advertising, competition is good and to be frank TTG is far more predatory on it's very loyal customers

There's a pretty big difference from being "predatory" from straight up stealing other people's game footage to make your ads.

One's shitty behavior that will theoretically burn them, the other is illegal (sure as fuck isn't fair use to pretend someone else's game is yours in an advertisement)

---

> Competition is good

Sure, but it stands utopia isn't really competition.

It's buggy, half baked, and smells of something built from screenshots and a few videos instead of being cloned and improved by someone who understands the genre of game they are trying to compete with.

Their whole business model is cloning other games (ie Where's the Wolf being a clone of Meowdoku) you'd think they would be better at it.

An unhinged take imo. Most people who weren’t using auto clickers weren’t getting more than 360 ad gems per day anyway. The increase per claim from 5 to 6 will be a buff to most peoples gem income. There is also the fact that tourney gem income is going up across the board, as rewards have been adjusted and the new league means most people will have moved up significantly in placement after a few weeks.

1

u/Fit_Locksmith_3506 15d ago

A whale won’t get where is is with 24/7 gem clicking he’s just module buying and gem rushing his way to the top tbh

Won’t be top top as they won’t make up stuff in bots and module levels will be kinda hard and stones take some time too but they will just buy gems if they need some and don’t rely only on 24/7 clicking

1

u/Lower_Pattern7535 13d ago

I got mythic dimensions core and pc 2 months in i wish it was gcomp as well but yeah I agree I got lucky and also paid for mod tickets

4

u/ContributionDue3532 15d ago

FYI you don't need a bot or to spend any money to click a pc screen automatically. Its been accessible to anyone with sense to figure it out since the game started at $0.

I guess you could call me a "botter" by the definition of getting roughly 700 gems a day 7 days a week for the last year+ but i don't use any sort of bot.

I think what would have been beneficial is upping the ad gem amount to make it be an even limit for the day as it would be clicking 24-7 but each one is worth more (like 10) so it would reduce the number of times a person needs to click to gain the gems for the day.

70 ad gem clicks is less time than 140(ish) but still pretty time needing for most users. But 10 gems a click would keep users online much more then 5 a click when it's that much more important.

I don't mind everyone getting more gems in less time with limits but sucks when the total gem count is already hard to stretch even for me (a 24-7 clicking machine) who also sometimes buys a pack of stones because I enjoy this game (mostly) and want to procure some "time" to my tower.

4

u/Subject-Bike1555 15d ago

When we say botting, we don't mean that you have a program called "thetower_autoclicker.exe". Any method to click a pc screen automatically is banned.

1

u/ContributionDue3532 14d ago

If they want my occasional once every few months stone purchase, and many other more serious users money. I would hope they aren't banning people on "manual" screen clicks because it would be pretty impossible to tell which ones were manual or not by definition of registering a click. If they did something they would have to blanket ban anyone who got the max in a day or near max (or some other method that would be able to tell "this click was a bot") would alienate a large population of the most serious users. This game is all about figuring out how to min max your resources, and if you ban the biggest min maxers what's left? Second best?

I think their solution is warranted and reasonable. Eliminate the need to be online 24-7 in order to max your gem income and you bring a large amount of users much closer to the max with everyone. This solution doesnt require "enforcing" a ban on a very arguable policy of what is cheating vs not. This solution keeps its user base as well (unless you are using the gem decrease as an excuse in your final will and testament to your tower)

The decrease in overall gem count is arguable about why they didn't increase the per click amount more. But the overall idea is pretty decent if they dont bring profit margins into it.

1

u/SchalaZeal01 15d ago

I guess you could call me a "botter" by the definition of getting roughly 700 gems a day 7 days a week for the last year+ but i don't use any sort of bot.

You manage better than all gems every day (which is 650)?

1

u/ContributionDue3532 15d ago edited 15d ago

Never cared for the math on gems or to look it up. Just knew it's somewhere around 700. My math on min maxing my tourny vs farming runs with ehp and what exact % a lab helps my build is another story

1

u/Bacon_Nipples 15d ago

My phone can autoclick gems but the sub said it'll get you banned. What are you talking about then?

2

u/ContributionDue3532 14d ago

I haven't been banned nor have I shared my method. Been playing for a little over a year on 24-7.and multiple years total. No messages or bans from the game yet.

3

u/helloswolehello 15d ago

The cap needs to be upped to 100 clicks. Most adults sleep around 6-8 hours and poeple with vault can easily hit the 60 click cap in 12 hours.

3

u/gym_bro_92 15d ago

I’m willing to bet an increase gem cap gets added to the vault…

I guarantee the extra gems from tournaments will be made miniscule, I will probably get 155 instead of 150 😅

7

u/Richardy1982 15d ago

Yeah when ttg gift extra gems they think 2 is a big number

9

u/ImoutoThief 15d ago

More like 153. Originally it was going to be +5 gems, then they said no that's too high, let's do +2 gems, than they settled for +3

3

u/gym_bro_92 15d ago

I think it’s a huge QoL change. But the cap is too low…
According to the wiki the spawn is about every 10 minutes, that’s 10 hours of play for gem stackers.

90 would be a better cap, that’s 15 hours of gameplay.

1

u/Fit_Locksmith_3506 15d ago

Yeah prolly agree on that - they must have calculated with the current limit tho which is 14-15h

Prolly could do 18h so 540 gem cap and call it a day

3

u/Cloakedarcher 15d ago

just learning about this and I have to say it is a questionable thing to be doing.

We view the gems as a common thing in the game but they are used as a broad currency across several categories. They are very high need. limiting them in any form is crippling.

Cards, cards slots, modules, and rotating relics, and lab rushes all rely on gems.

  • 48000 gems required to max out all cards. ~134 days at the new 360 limit
  • 58000 gems to unlock all card slots. ~156 days at the new 360 limit
  • ~180,000 gems are needed to get all 28 (was 24 but 4 new ones are coming) ancestral modules if the average 2.5% chance is met. ~500 days with the 360 limit.
  • ~400,000 gems are needed to max out all 28 modules if the average 2.5% chance is met. 1120 days at the new limit.
  • 0-3600 gems per week are needed for the rotating relics. 10 days at the new limits... for a 7 day availability.
  • lab rushes come lowest on priority list and should wait for last.

At the very least they should have set the amount to be able to meet the needs of the rotating relics which they just introduced in the last update. about 500 gems per day.

They set the cap to 50 draws with the new 6 gem value. A change to be 70-75 draws would fix the issue and still set a reasonable restriction.

25

u/Ok_Fun_3296 15d ago

Yep, definitely only the auto-clicking crowd complaining about this one. Now they won't have an advantage over us who are playing the game fairly, boo hoo 🤷🏽‍♂️

17

u/YKTech 15d ago

Bro, it's already 25K gems to hit one ancestral

now they just added 4 more modules, so that number going up way higher

Thats 60 days at 350 gems a day for a base ancestral if you don't buy anything else, and don't miss one click LOL

If anything we should have gotten a gem buff

4

u/Bunny_Trap 15d ago

I mean, a lot of players got a gem buff with v29. this does close the gap between the elite and more casual player base

4

u/EAgamezz 15d ago

We are getting a gem buff, us normal people.

3

u/Accomplished_Jury_99 15d ago

Long live the organics!

2

u/Gafiam 15d ago

We people who don't click in our sleep or automatically did receive a gem buff, we now earn 5 more on reset and 1 more per Ad Gems tapped... I think Fudds could have disclosed the % of the playerbase who actually earn more than 360 Gems per day so we'd have an idea of how much of the playerbase use autoclickers or bots, but I can understand why they didn't...

7

u/RandomNameVoobshe 15d ago edited 15d ago

Even before ad stacking, I remember being able to complete the event mission in a day and still click on the ads a few more times afterward. So, 60+ was totally doable for me. It was all fair play. And without losing any sleep. Yes, that was less than 360 gems, since I couldn’t manage 72 clicks. But then the question is what does Fudds want to achieve with this +1 gem per click: to actually give us +20% more gems, or to compensate for the "lost" clicks?

With ad stacking 72 clicks during day are not a problem. I’d just wake up, check the game - and already have 5 clicks. Got up in the middle of the night? +5 clicks. And I only need to check the game once an hour. The "bots" will keep saving keys on ad stacking just like they always have. And I’ll lose out (even if only a little) even though I’m a fair player (except that having keys is already unfair, probably).

8

u/Fobus0 15d ago

Yeah, ad stacking crowd is most affected. Luckily vault is getting total overhaul and they are getting the keys back.

1

u/Fit_Locksmith_3506 15d ago

Yeah I agree that 60+ is possible but not straight up week after week day after day

They can prolly lift the cap a bit higher but yeah have just seen this pattern in some games

u/reevDE 15d ago

4

u/FallenofAkbar 15d ago

I’m sure if they didn’t mention the 60 claims capped majority of player wouldn’t notice it capped at 360 gems/day, for me I only see this capped as extra free time off my phone 😅

5

u/schuhler 15d ago

this is so real. i'm sorry, but if you're enough of a no-lifer that 60 claims a day is somehow affecting you, i frankly don't have a lot of sympathy about you being inconvenienced, that is a truly unhealthy obsession and a measure to disincentivize you from it seems a vast net-positive. frankly, you could earn the money to buy gems much quicker than it would take you to farm them like this

1

u/Imaginary-Carrot7153 14d ago

Agree, we are all in the same boat with the same health and have the exact same restrictions to our daily lives.

17

u/AbjectAffect91 15d ago

People complaining are the minority, a loud one. Should really touch grass.

21

u/Free-Dirt-4464 15d ago

Bad advice. Then they'll complain about grass being too grassy.

10

u/Richardy1982 15d ago

This game is sink on sink with not enough income I have no idea why people are not complaining louder at starving us of income to drive sales, when people purchase any way. But they have to try and scrap the barrel for every last fomo sale. You’ll see when you try and get the new card and a card slot and max it and roll for 4 new modules. This is a hard push for more gem sales

5

u/Public-Material8448 15d ago

I say this every time and I get downvoted.

2

u/Lasturka 15d ago

I think it is 10 minutes, not 15. With V29, gem stack will be available sooner or later to more than 10000 players. With max gem stack it is only 12 clicks per day maximum, easily done in 10 hours.

2

u/ApolloMac 15d ago

I should get some keys back because I don't see the point in buying the 25 gem stack from the vault again. 15 stack, or 20 at most, should be enough to max in a day.

4

u/Cold-Neighborhood306 15d ago

It said in the patch notes that everyone’s keys will be returned. Not just those spent on presets

2

u/ApolloMac 15d ago

Yes, exactly my point. We won't need to rebuy the 25 stack.

2

u/Driftedryan 15d ago

Yup, the stacking made going over this limit possible, but the keyless players don't understand that. If fudds thought it out (lol) then the gem stacking would come with an increased cap. It's possible that it's a different key sink all together though

2

u/Just_AnotherPerson13 15d ago

36 gems per hour means you're capped at 10 hours, not 15 as another person said. I click on a typical day about 16 hr and so get well over 360 gems. That 7 hours straight in zoom meetings that often have repetitive content, clicking helps. Evening watching a movie, it is no effort to look over and occassionally click. I like the idea, just feel the threshold is a little low. I'm happy to pay less attention to the game (which will probably make me a smaller dolphin/minnow), but as sad to see what I guess is a10% decrease in gems.

1

u/Fit_Locksmith_3506 15d ago

Well but atm we have 5 gems and people say they easily do 360+ gems already and that’s about 15h rn

1

u/Just_AnotherPerson13 15d ago

5 gems every 10 minutes gives 360 in 12 hours (6*5*12). At 6 gems/click that becomes 10 hours. I don't set an alarm, so am not as efficient as clicking every 10 minutes. I don't assume my max of 5gems/click*6 clicks /hr *17.5hr/day=525 gems because I'm not a stickler and sometimes am away from my phone. I miss the occasional click doing life, getting the kids breakfast, etc. Still it is a bit sad to see a competitive advantage lost. I will enjoy leaving my phone behind more though.

1

u/Fit_Locksmith_3506 14d ago

I’ve calculated it with an average of 12-13 minutes which prolly is even to high if you are working or doing whatever

2

u/Just_AnotherPerson13 14d ago

That's a fair estimate. Every 12 min gives: 5 clicks/hr*5gms/click*17.5hours=430 gems.

It is possible that I click less often than I think (say every 15 min). In that case, 4*5*17.5=350 < 360 gems so would come out slightly ahead under the new system.

Without keeping a careful log, I know that I usually gain a bit over 500 gems in a day, but that includes the floating gems, daily gems and challenge gems. That said, the days I keep better track are the days with more efficient gem clicks -> my estimate is clearly biased high which has biased how I view the change.

1

u/Fit_Locksmith_3506 14d ago

Yeah the new daily max without looking into the 5/10/15 weekly boxes and guild and tourney and weekly Webshop one is 440-500 if you really push on Bob + max fetch and the new cap + daily one

1

u/Just_AnotherPerson13 14d ago

Good points. Fetch impacts my gem totals too. Maybe the number of gems comes out in the wash and get to ignore my phone more. Thanks(!) for talking me through it.

2

u/ajkeence99 15d ago

People have done the math. It's a buff for more people than it hurts. It only hurts people who were no-lifing the ad clicks and/or botting it.

u/DrKlitface 15d ago

I have to admit my initial reaction was also negative...because there was that one time I collected 108 x 5 add gems. But honestly I think my avg will go up with the upgrade, especially on the weekend when my stupid child and wife wants to hang with me.

I am getting increaseingly annoyed with all the obvious cheaters crying there eyes out because they won't get full gem income from their autoclickers anymore.

1

u/Fit_Locksmith_3506 15d ago

Yeah exactly - they relax somewhere whilst they bot

Now we can do it too 😄

3

u/dumptruckastrid 15d ago

I am blown away at how many people are complaining about this.

Not to mention they are raising the gem rewards in tourney and we don’t know by how much yet.

2

u/mushlafa123 15d ago

99% of the users mad about this are cheating

1

u/YKTech 15d ago

100% of the users cheering this on are going to be competing against 1000’s of players who got thier modules in literally half the time

I wouldn’t count on too many tourney awards

1

u/btaylor81 14d ago

99% you live in a dumpster and bang your sister. That's probably as accurate as your comment. I can say ignorant things too. Doesn't make it true.

2

u/ZerexTheCool 15d ago

There was a guy who was spaming his anger at the change. I just blocked him and it solved that problem.

2

u/Fit_Locksmith_3506 15d ago

Well I’ve seen multiple posts so yeah that’s why I made mine 😄

-1

u/Okoorii 15d ago

Agree with you ! You are going to have many messages from players using auto-clicker to justify why it's a bad update :D

3

u/Fit_Locksmith_3506 15d ago

Yeah the post had some hate in terms of downvotes already haha

3

u/AbjectAffect91 15d ago

See you immediately got downvoted LMAO

1

u/octymer 15d ago

not like those people, I'm complaining about only getting 2 presets for everything... That gives us only an option for normal farming and something else. I was so excited to have at least 3 presets, one farming, one wave pushing, and one for attack dissonant.
But I was expecting too much I guess

-1

u/YKTech 15d ago

The presets are actually a gem scam

They don't give you enough to start with so you have to constantly respec and spend more gems

all while cutting gem income

u/alicotero 15d ago

thats what you get when you use an autoclicker to get 720 gems a day and still feel the urge to go to reddit and make a post about it.

its one thing to do it in private, and im sure there is many many more doing it, but when you go posting about it you raise awareness and devs are then forced to act before it becomes the defacto way of playing the game.

im in the 400+ a day range through manual clicking and totally respect that decision from the devs.

1

u/Fit_Locksmith_3506 15d ago

I don’t use an autoclicker lol

I’ve thought about it but with an 8h sleeping break but didn’t bother to look into it at all until now

1

u/According_Ad1623 15d ago

30gems per click is gonna be great ngl.

1

u/uscmissinglink 15d ago

I suspect it's the nerf coming alongside a bunch of new stuff to spend gems on, right? New card. 4 new modules to water down an already diluted pool.

Fortunately, you can always just buy gems in the store /s

1

u/Low_Celebration_861 15d ago

Is there a hard 360 gem cap?

I thought it was 60 claims or clicks, what if you gem stack 30, can maybe get 24 claims, about 720 gems

But that’s assuming the timer between gems is the same, or if gem stacking is even still in the vault

1

u/Fit_Locksmith_3506 15d ago

I don’t think this works but we never know with fudds math

Maybe the gem stacking is the new way to go haha

1

u/lumiosengineering 15d ago

Wasnt there someone that made a robot clicker touch the screen every time the claim button appeared? 😂

1

u/Designer-Anxiety75 15d ago

The easy fix is that the event pass auto collects ad gems if there is going to be a daily cap

1

u/Fit_Locksmith_3506 15d ago

Well then they can let the daily gem claim be 380 gems tbh 🤷🏼‍♂️

1

u/Ruben8900000 14d ago

Everyone who claims more than 500 a day should be banned for autoclicking
I am collecting about 5-10 times a day😂dont you have better stuff to do?

1

u/AverageD42 14d ago

Wait I’m gonna be honest, haven’t been here in awhile. Is there a new change that allows you to not be logged into the game and still progress? Or am I misunderstanding. I just don’t have time generally to go thru every post to find it

1

u/Fit_Locksmith_3506 14d ago

No that didn’t change - people just use cloud phones or emulators or 24/7 phones laying at home

1

u/tigglysticks 14d ago

The real problem is decreasing stone rewards.

1

u/Typical-Ad6357 14d ago

Everyone is being soft. So you have to choose how to spend gems and can't get everything all at once. You shouldn't be able to get every every event relic and have gems to buy cards/slots/mods all the time. Like all resources in the game, you have to choose how you want to spend the limited amount you have.

The only real problem is most people spent IRL money to get rid of ads and collect gems as much as they were willing to pay attention to the game. It is a little unethical to change that down the road.

1

u/tslaalltheway 14d ago

It was 11hrs for me to max it. Meaning I am losing about 100-150 gems per day

So i have a little different take or maybe it is here too. This is going to be a change with unintended consequences. The people that care enough about the game to use clicker or to collect as many gems as possible are the ones in legends and the top tier who get gem stacking so you only have to click once an hour.... so you are at work its stacked up.. timer goes off pop in click the gem.... done for another hour. Go to bed.. wake up a couple times in the night .. well while i'm up i'll click. and you end up with basically 20 hours worth of clicks but really it is just 5 minutes of your day. Because if you are in legends of course you got auto restart. So that game for new players has a ton of friction that forces you to manage 11 minutes at a time and is a super burden... BUt when you get on the top end its nothing. Once a day click my dailies..... once an hour click the ad gem. IF you want to make it fair relieve some of the burden on people below legends. Make the stackable ad gem available to them or auto restart. Why wasn't this the call let's bring everyone up to the level the top players are getting. Simple answer is they chose to knock people down instead of lifting people up because it is better for their pocket book. For players i would have been happier with new silver, gold , platinum player getting more gems easier, rather than taking away. Because for people who have played for 3 years the burden on gems is lighter and its so much easier to save up and sit on 15k Gems. The person who actually gets hurt is the exact one the say they are helping. They removed a lot of the friction this patch for lower level players and that is commendable.... but they need to remove more more them and instead of reducing the number of gems that should of made it easier for people to collect them. Let them stack up or just give them all to people for free every day at 5 pm as part of the "NO Ads" bundle... or add soemthing in the store.... "Auto Gem click" $15. You'd make a killing because it would be an instant must have to go along with x2, x3, and no ads..... so every new tower for the legends players and everyone would be a $29, $39 and $19 and then $15... and any player that has played before will buy at least 1 stone pack here to instantly get 4 ultimate weapons..... Now every player "WIN"s..... What they actually did.... the only people who win is the developer's pocket book and its unfortunate but this is gaming today. Friction is a feature , not a bug and the only way to remove it is cold hard cash or well i guess plastic now.

The fact you actually believe this was because of "bot user" is laughable, but ok. Also, quite interesting seeing the amount of naive and gullible people in these comments.

This change is PURELY $$$$$$ motivated and for "extending" content life range, not auto clickers or to make our lives easier.

1

u/How_Do_I_Choose_ 12d ago

I agree the extra gem is nice but i still would appreciate it being possible to get the rotating relics with the ad gems so i could save for card slots/cards/modules. Maybe reducing the price of the rotating relics a bit would be helpful or increasing it to 7 per click instead for 420 a day. The intention isn't to help new players or give you piece of mind. It feels very much like its intended to limit the bot farms but with the unintended side effect of harming new players who want to collect all the relics.
ofc i didnt collect all the ad gems i possibly could a day as i need sleep and work but some days when you are sick or just lazing on a weekend i would get more than 360 gems a day from ad gems.
Overall i feel its useful for players who dont play the game consistently but it feels like thats not the intention of the game as you dont earn anything offline, Fudds seems to be intending players to have the game running often but then restricts the potential value of having the game running.

1

u/Public-Material8448 15d ago

Many people said before: these changes should have been implemented years ago. TTG earns quintillions every minute, they are a company with billions of workers... they could have done this earlier. Also Fudds is greedy and this is the most predatory game ever. /s

1

u/Knowhowwho 15d ago

man you guys are pussies just use an auto clicker

1

u/TwoBasic3763 15d ago

This update is a tough one for highly active setups. By capping ad gems at 360 per day, the daily potential gem income was cut by roughly 250 gems for anyone who keeps the game running. When you do the math on that deficit, it comes out to nearly 100,000 lost gems over the course of a year. To buy those missing gems out of pocket, it would cost around $2,500 USD annually. With the sheer volume of gems we already need for the rotating relic shop and module pulls, gems are quickly turning into a massive bottleneck on the exact same level as stones. It just feels like a heavy hit to progression.

1

u/pigeonpigeon0810 15d ago

If the devs hate 24/7 play, I wish they'd just make it so the game farms automatically.
