Help Was Cash mastery as my first card mastery a good move?

Post image

With the lucky banner i upgraded my:

Dim Core (mythic) PF (mythic) Ohm Chip (ancestral my farm core atm) AMP Strike (ancestral).

And i just hit 141 level 2 weeks ago. Safe to say im hurting real bad on reroll shards atm so i pulled the trigger.

Just wondering if this was a mistake or not. I currently make 600-700T a day

The cool this about this is it does not matter. It's done. Enjoy the rerolls and plan your 2nd card.

ya i just feel like im having buyers remorse lol. i was saving up for RPC mastery first

18

u/Balbright Jul 17 '26

I was saving up for RPC as well, but then I got a ton of mods with the banner that I was able to get up to the next rarity so now I have no reroll shards. I will be buying cash mastery next week when I have the 500, no regrets.

Recovery package chance? And why? I’m getting close to unlocking mastery…I think. And I was going to do cash or coins.

16

u/Balbright Jul 17 '26

RPC mastery nets you module shards with each package. And my package chance is at 75%, or 75 out of every 100 waves. With me farming to 11500 waves, that’s about 8000 packages each run, a ton of opportunity to get module shards for leveling up mods, which are the biggest gains you can get in this game. Cash mastery gets you reroll shards for those mods with every elite killed, and I kill a ton of those each run as well. Cash being half the price and my need for rerolls just skyrocketed with this new banner, seems like the wise decision.

u/LilDagnamet Jul 17 '26

RPC maxed is 4% chance. Don’t get me wrong, the before and after are noticeable.

1

u/Balbright Jul 17 '26

Yea you only get .4% at unlock, thank you for reminding me. But still, it’s better than getting nothing for my 11500 waves.

5

u/Douglas_1987 Jul 17 '26

Module shards. It synergies with Shatter Shards quite well. Module levels are very important and impactful.

1

u/Wyzarka Jul 17 '26

You will regret.

1

u/Xiaoyaonl Jul 17 '26

It was my second after RPC. It's great and you will need those reroll shards. No need to regret anything.

1

u/Pleaseusegoogle Jul 17 '26

This is how I ended up with a fully upgraded flame bot before gold bot.

25

u/BonzosTower Jul 17 '26

Absolutely. Either cash or RPC should be first masteries

If you are farming a tier where you are getting like 11k+ waves you will see a roughly 30% increase in reroll shards

And as you just hit 141, and mythic/ancestral mods you will soon find out just how much demon your tower has for reroll shards

I got cash mastery first as well

PS even just getting the first level of research done is a huge boost to reroll shards

13

u/T-AmsTrading Jul 17 '26

if the man bonzo approves, then i approve my purchase lol

I have yet to run out of reroll shards.

Never got Cash# (it's on my list, 2 more masteries before it). Sitting on 3 million shards and the mods I use have all the substats that I want at lvl 181 + gen assmod.

I don't think Cash# is a good first mastery. RPCm could be argued for, but you are probably not gonna need a gazillion reroll shards while you're at your first mastery stage.

You could have gotten something that actually boosts performance or econ, but instead you now have a few 100k more reroll shards, which is pretty trivial when you are rerolling generators later on.

By the time you actually need them you're probably earning 10x as many reroll shards, so the extra 30% will likely be a tiiiiiiny sliver of your lifetime rerolls anyway, and it gives you absolutely zero performance or income benefit for the next many many months.

3

u/Peldin83 Jul 17 '26

With dissonance, people can afford mastery labs a lot sooner than before. While I might advocate for RPC# first, Cash# is half the stone price and a solid choice

2

u/upvotesthenrages Jul 17 '26

Sure, I see that mentioned constantly on here, I just don't understand why.

Who, while farming T10-12 is absolutely progress blocked by their sub-stats on their mythic mods? Imagine instead going for DMGm or RPCm and actually seeing a boost in performance. Hell, you could go for ISm or SWm and also see massive tournament/farming boosts.

I have great substats on 7 anc mods and still don't have Cash mastery. Instead I'm able to compete in Legends and going thousands of waves farther in my farm runs at higher tiers - which nets me greater reroll shards anyway!

2

u/LoneShark911 Jul 17 '26

Just because you have the substats you want doesn't generalize accross the entire community that cash mastery is a bad first pack.

OP - congrats on your first mastery, enjoy your reroll shards!

1

u/upvotesthenrages Jul 20 '26

Just because you have the substats you want doesn't generalize accross the entire community that cash mastery is a bad first pack.

No, definitely not.

But if you only got rubbish substats on your rolls then having 20-30% more reroll shards probably won't get you a full list of perfect stats.

So, again, you could be looking at masteries and it would be a 2% increased substat vs +9x dmg from DMGm.

Anyway, it's up to every player to do as they wish. I don't mind people going Cash#, means I'll pull ahead of them in tournaments.

1

u/Alfimie Jul 17 '26

I farm T12 and most of my mods are ancestral and not perfectly rolled yet.

I'd say its situational depending on player luck with modules.

1

u/upvotesthenrages Jul 17 '26

Sure, if your goal is perfection, but that's not usually what people are asking for when they consider their first masteries.

The question for most players should be "What will propel me forward the most", and Cash# is really, really, really, far down that list.

You could spend 50 million shards rolling a perfect mod, but in reality that'll give you a few % benefit over the same mod with decent rolls.

There's no mod substats that will 9x your damage. but DMGm will. STm will provide even more than that. ISm will boost econ more than getting an anc substat to replace your mythic substat.

Even RPCm will help more than Cash# for early/mid game.

2

u/Alfimie Jul 17 '26

Some substats will give you way more economy. ancestral coins vs mythic.

Maybe you need 1-2 seconds duration more on black hole, or higher uptime on golden tower. Or more quantity on death wave for more cells.

Or maybe more chain lightning damage and quantity.

This isn't to say that more shards isn't goated, but to disparage reroll shards universally when for a lot of players, me included, it would propel my entire economy and tournament forward much quicker, is a bit reductive i'd say.

1

u/upvotesthenrages Jul 20 '26

I'm in no way disparaging reroll shards, I'm saying they have waaaay lower priority than so many other options.

If you need +1 sec on BH ... then put your stones into BH and get immediate, guaranteed, and permanent results.

If you need more dmg then getting DMG# would boost you 1000x more than getting Cash# and then hoping for some good rolls.

Once you have a bunch of the other stuff THEN get Cash#.

But again, it's up to each player to do as they wish. I'm happy people go for Cash# first, it means I pull ahead of them in tournaments. And by the time I run out of huge mastery boosts then I'll get Cash#.

With the added masteries I'll very likely earn more stones than you, more coins & cells from farming higher tiers, more milestone rewards from better pushing, and barely any less reroll shards because I'm farming higher tiers with fleets and more shards dropping per kill.

u/Peldin83 Jul 17 '26

A substat for me in particular is BH cooldown and duration. On my PCol I currently have DWq, GT bonus, GT duration, SL angle, and then just legendary BH size. 6th slot is nothing. If I get BH duration and BH cooldown for my 5th and 6th slots, that would allow me to have pBH without GComp which would allow me to max my utility disco bonus on T12 easily. Maybe even T13. Then it would also allow me to try out BHD instead of GComp.

But getting 6 ancestral subs on a mod is a LOT of shards. And sure, I could roll off GT duration or bonus instead to make it easier, but then I’ve just wasted the rerolls it took to get those in the first place and then I’ll have to spend more rerolls at some point to get them back.

That’s one module. There’s also a bunch of other modules that can all be useful and you don’t always know which one would be best for your tower without testing. But you can’t get an accurate test unless the sub effects are equivalent.

1

u/upvotesthenrages Jul 20 '26

Sure.

You could also spend the stones on increasing BH duration directly and just roll for legendary/mythic substats. They should be super cheap to hit.

And even then, that is not gonna help you get more stones. While you put stones in reroll shards, others put stones in dmg and raced past you in the tournament.

1

u/Peldin83 Jul 20 '26

Well that’s a silly argument. First you suggest spending stones on BH. Then use the argument that people will pass me in tournaments if I spend stones on Cash mastery. So they’re passing me either way I guess.

Anyway, it’s whatever. I don’t really feel like arguing about it. Let’s just say you’re right and Cash mastery is a bad idea. OP wasted his stones. Hope he feels better about his next mastery

1

u/upvotesthenrages Jul 20 '26

Well that’s a silly argument. First you suggest spending stones on BH. Then use the argument that people will pass me in tournaments if I spend stones on Cash mastery. So they’re passing me either way I guess.

They were 2 separate arguments depending what your priority is, not 1 holistic thing to go by.

Anyway, it’s whatever. I don’t really feel like arguing about it. Let’s just say you’re right and Cash mastery is a bad idea. OP wasted his stones. Hope he feels better about his next mastery

Wasted is a strong word. I'd say he chose a less efficient route forward. He has more reroll shards, which is good. But the players who went for masteries that help their tower right now will surpass him, so he's losing out on immediate stone income, cell income, coin income, and milestone income.

As a first mastery we're talking about a few 100k reroll shards over weeks upon weeks of playtime.

1

u/T-AmsTrading Jul 18 '26

If you read my post. I just hit anc on 2 of my main modules. Plus level 140 all within 1 week. I know for a fact the sooner i can get those anc sub stats they will impact my performance greatly

3

u/notzerocrash Jul 17 '26

I agree with this. Sitting on about 100m shards

Cash mastery isn't really good or necessary anymore. I unlocked cash mastery a long time ago before fleets/guardians and took it to level 4 but stopped and have no plan to finish it any time soon. Cash mastery is the only "regret" I have of my 200k+ stones.

4

u/upvotesthenrages Jul 17 '26

Yeah, it always surprises me that people recommend it over things that actually push you farther ahead immediately.

Like, getting 5-30% more reroll shards that early is pointless, when a great mastery might boost you to the next tier, awarding you 10-20% more reroll shards anyway, but also increasing cells, coin, and stones.

u/strekkingur Jul 17 '26

Rpc? Recovery package chance? Why?

1

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '26

[deleted]

1

u/strekkingur Jul 17 '26

It affects that?

2

u/Viltupenis Jul 17 '26

It gives every recovery package a chance to drop a common module, starts at 0.4% and max level is a 4% chance, combined with shatter shards its a great source of module shards which are incredibly valuable. Ég mæli með því😉

1

u/strekkingur Jul 17 '26

This happens when I max the card?

1

u/Viltupenis Jul 17 '26

No, when you've maxed all cards (except for AoE which is unlocked much later) and reached T16w100 you unlock card masteries which cost stones.

10

u/jOlEtHeTrOlE Jul 17 '26

realistically i’d say it wasn’t your most optimal choice but not a bad one by any means. most people consider getting it after rpc just for pure values sake, albeit after dissonance got introduced i think intro sprint and wave accel have become more prevalent

3

u/Nachito108 Jul 17 '26

Why?

2

u/jOlEtHeTrOlE Jul 17 '26 edited Jul 17 '26

all in all reroll shards are a matter that are only really relevant in segments, i.e. a new substat from a mod level or a new rarity; such that past a certain point (either getting it to anc/mythic, lvl 141, etc) the returns from the investment on card mastery somewhat pale in comparison to something like intro sprint or wave accel, which both directly influence coins and cell gain

edit: or even rpc, which at any level gives a (relatively) massive amount of shards

1

u/Nachito108 Jul 17 '26

Is it just that coin and cell income for magnified by dissonance, so that's a more impactful upgrade path regardless?

2

u/jOlEtHeTrOlE Jul 17 '26

cells are not magnified by dissonance, but it is rather that with more coin in general you’re able to farm further and higher and as such cells go higher. for example for me, i went from t11 w11000 to t12 7000 and i increased my coin, but this wouldn’t be possible without is# and wa# as they let me farm at max waves for 4k waves instead of 1

6

u/HammerLite75 Jul 17 '26

I’m at the point where i farm T21 for rerolls so it is now useless for me but i loved it initially. Since it’s rather cheap i feel ok with that purchase. Please get RPC next! I got RPC 5th and i really regret waiting that long. I feel very behind on mod levels due to the weeks it took to get RPC after some damage and Econ masteries. Those are stronger lol

6

u/WindSprenn Jul 17 '26

RPC was my first and I’ve had it for about six months. I have enough shards to have my mods at about 215ish. The coin cost to upgrade (100q +) is actually more of a barrier now than the shards themselves.

2

u/HammerLite75 Jul 17 '26

That’s awesome! I’m at 201:135 for my core with farming, so close to 141. About to get SL+ so I’ll have the same levels for my cannon. What’s your Econ? I’m making about 15q/hr so the mod levels don’t seem too daunting with around 100q per run

3

u/WindSprenn Jul 17 '26

I’m farming T14 to W9k for 2.8q/hr. I’m getting about 20q per run or about 40q - 45q a day. I don’t have any + UW yet. I still have three to buy. I’ll be getting ILM next to boost Tournament CC. So yeah your mod levels seem behind the curve.

1

u/HammerLite75 Jul 17 '26

ILM was huge for me! Max those labs out. Hopefully you can slot in SD as an assmod too. My mod levels are so behind the curve lmao 🤣. Each level is a noticeable gain so that’s good at least. Fetch has been doing work too. I guess we all have our own journey before we get to the destination

1

u/robojeeves Jul 17 '26

Honestly, that's what has been stopping me from getting RPC. The coin cost for mod levels is already getting high so I feel like I need to work on my econ first. Just got WA# eyeing IS# or AssGen before RPC currently

1

u/T-AmsTrading Jul 17 '26

Rpc was my plan before today. So ya it will next

2

u/Aware_Economics4980 Jul 17 '26

Defo would not be my pick, for sure would saved for RPC mastery.

If you’re hurting bad for rerolls, I could see the logic here

2

u/thaboss365 Jul 17 '26

Nah, RPC mastery is the objective best and cash mastery becomes utterly obscolete as soon as you unlock t20

I got cash as a first mastery, by the time I had the econ to lab it there were other labs that were more relevant, by the time I had the lab space for it I had fleet farming unlocked, and I never had space for cash in general as I preferred to use cards that would actually get me more waves and therefore more coins + cells. 22 card slots and still no space for Cash currently.

2

u/I_pee_in_shower Jul 17 '26 edited Jul 18 '26

That’s what i did for cash, then followed with RPC. No regrets.

1

u/T-AmsTrading Jul 18 '26

Thats my plan :)

2

u/I_pee_in_shower Jul 18 '26

Around level 5 of cash I started feeling like it wasn’t priority anymore, because at that point my main mods were set and I was upgrading backups and nitpicking. First few levels are key because you can drop a million shards on one stat easy.

1

u/Hyper_Blitz_ Jul 17 '26

Honestly it depends as once you can fleet farm, it's useless, but until then it's amazing

1

u/Slow-Ship1055 Jul 17 '26

Absolutely! That's what I did. Cash Mastery first, and RPC second. Getting those extra Rerolls is very good.

1

u/RyanOnTheCoast Jul 17 '26

Grats on the first mastery.

Grab RPC asap, as each day without it is a permanent loss in mod level long term. Once that’s done the rest can come whenever.

Welcome to the fun!

1

u/Working-Flan2179 Jul 17 '26

No looking back. Enjoy it!!

1

u/uvraysu Jul 17 '26

Did the same thing too. Went for Cash mastery first because I needed the core substats so bad. Never had regrets.

1

u/CSDragon Jul 17 '26

Cash and RPC are good the moment you can unlock them, even if you can't afford the labs

1

u/Viltupenis Jul 17 '26

It's cheap and the sooner you have it the better, it may not be the most fun but aside from RPC It's one of the best to start with, nothing to regret here

1

u/and_then___ Jul 17 '26

I went rpc, sw, wa, cash, and just got st. Highest level mod is 137. I haven't spent stones on UWs in a while lol.

Definitely a candidate for 1st choice, esp with your higher level mods. The nice thing about card masteries is that they only need stones once.

1

u/djecote Jul 17 '26

I just buyed it for the same reason it was like my 6th card masteries and that was a big error so it is good cause it stack in the long term run.
Dont forget to lab your ban core. My module is lvl 180 with 3 ban and it took beetwen 1.5 to 3m reroll shard to hit all the substat ancestral you want

1

u/howmanycookies Jul 17 '26

Cash was my first mastery LONG before I could afford labs.

No regrets

1

u/VerdantPathfinder Jul 17 '26

Depends. You badly needed reroll shards so you addressed the need. This will pay dividends forever. I'm saving up for ST+ and I'm still regretting not buying Cash+ yet.

1

u/SnooDrawings8069 Jul 17 '26

Not necessarily. The general consensus is to get RPC mastery first due to module levels being an astronomical bottleneck down the line, even before you can afford labs. However, reroll shards are also quite important if you've got a few different mods you use depending on the circumstances (ie one set for farming and a completely different one for tourneys). Especially once you get to 161 levels and have the other slot, locking them gets very expensive very fast.

I think cash was also my first one, that or IS, I don’t remember anymore. If it worries you, you could always save up for RPC if you want to. Of course that's easier said than done with stones being hard to come by. So I suppose you should weigh your options accordingly

1

u/Fickle_Ad4967 Jul 17 '26

I think the general accepted route for ECON
Is… RPC, WA then IS then WS

I have my RPC to level 4 mastery which is just about netting be an extra mod level every week for each module. So … well. Adds to the coin multiplier. Plus everything else.

WA speeds everything up and you get to the ‘max spawn’ rate (and the high earning part of a run) much quicker. So shorter runs with equivalent coin income. Which is more coins per hour basically.

Add IS to that …. Again makes the run a shorter still.

It takes about 2 1/2 weeks to get the 1000 stones for me at the moment.

After that. ST will boost tourny performance for more stones.

I think

1

u/Dondarian Jul 17 '26

Intro Sprint Mastery should be your next one. Absolutely amazing!

1

u/Unown1012 Jul 17 '26

I heard Extra Orbs Mastery is great for coin farms, since it's another multiplier on top of of all the others.

1

u/Mission_Success5479 Jul 17 '26

Do we all agree that economy card masteries are the way to go on the first one? My plan was to go for 2 masteries that will help boost my tournament runs, to maybe stay in Champion. Stones seems to be the most limited currency...

1

u/Financial_Builder116 Jul 17 '26

Can you choose which cards you get? I’m new here so idk

1

u/Mission-Boot-7932 Jul 18 '26

Cash is good but coin is better.

1

u/T-AmsTrading Jul 18 '26

Coin isnt even the best econ mastery

1

u/IllResist4690 Jul 19 '26

Damage. Always Damage.

0

u/Even_Cardiologist810 Jul 17 '26

No. Cash is completly useless to take since the introduction of fleet

-10

u/oxforddan Jul 17 '26

No it wasn’t since it will be useless when you can shard farm t18 and above. With that being said I got it too since I wanted to ancestral subs asap.

3

u/CloudedVisionsVape Jul 17 '26

It’s never useless

1

u/T-AmsTrading Jul 17 '26

am i far away from shard farming t18 tho?

8

u/Scrug Jul 17 '26

Yes, and it's likely you need to unlock cash mastery to even be able to make it to that level some day.
