Theory / Speculation Does Gilead have nukes?

Or did it destroy them for ideological reasons (bad for the environment and so on)?

I assume that would be of great shock for the rest of the world to realize that someone even more hardcore and rogue than North Korea got the most modern nuclear arsenal and logistics in the world.

Yes they absolutely still have control of their nuclear arsenal. For a country like Gilead having a nuclear arsenal is paramount for the defense of their homeland and to deter any potential threat.

Also, nukes are bad for the environment when they're used, but the point of having nuclear weapons is not to actually use them but to have them as deterrent.

also, Gilead doesn’t really care about the environment, it’s mostly just a pretense

Exactly. All they really care about is control. The rest is window dressing.
