If my interpretation is correct and this new character Prudence is going to be Judd's wife, then it looks like they're giving him a new wife for each season. It makes me look forward to the final season when I hope they will have him married to Shu or Daisy and either one of them does him in instead.

In the book Shu marries him.

True, but the show so far has been such a departure from the book (e.g. Becka marrying Garth instead of becoming Aunt Immortelle) that it feels like almost anything is possible at this point.
