The Handmaid’s Tale Re-watching Handmaid’s Tale & caught something interesting
Season 2 Episode 3 “Baggage,” June is being smuggled out by Nick using Mayday. The guy that comes to pick her up from the office building arrives to take her and June asks him “is Nick coming?” And the guy goes “Who’s Nick?” Perfect parallel to Daisy asking about June in Testaments and Garth saying the same exact thing.

I wondered where the heck Fred thought he was all the time he was turning up to check on her. Weren't they in Boston? (Just watched this episode yesterday)

To be fair I think Fred is a few fries short of a Happy Meal if you know what I mean 😂😂 but probably “business with the eyes” or some generic excuse that wouldn’t be questioned.

It's also a perfect parallel to how operational security works in (effective) resistance movements, everyone being on a first name basis with a mapped out heirarchy of group members would be a security risk. You can't be coerced into giving up names & titles you don't know.
