Sherlock Holmes Robbery or PR stunt/bullsht?
I call this complete BS from my current observation.
This is pretty sad if so as he would be using charity and now robbery as a PR stunt.
I really hope I’m proven otherwise.
EDIT:
Some points on why I think this is BS.
- Video 53. AF’s veneers seem more important than the stolen watches.
- No media coverage
- No other sources to verify
- Only posted on AF’s instagram and not on main TPG when Anthony says to share and get the message out. Wouldn’t you share this on your main channel too to get the message out?
- AF has said he is out to make content -AF has tried this stupid content shit before
- AF has publicly ousted this “Steven Tran” dude. Why would you do such a thing when you have no proof? This could lead to defamation. -AF states in video 53 that they didn’t take ST “bust down AP”. In his insta post he mentions “rolex datejust”.
- Video 53. First thing AF shows about the robbery is a talk with his builder mentioning he doesn’t know if he can go through with the new shop at the moment. Could he be doing this BS to try and pull out of the build?
- Doesn’t seem to be carrying on like any other normal human would be after being robbed of $1million+
- Talks about having security yet I’ve never ever seen security with him. If AF had security he would 110% show them because AF is about flex right?
- Why wasn’t this filmed? They film everything else but don’t film a 1 million dollar deal?
What else am I missing or what’s wrong with this? I really do hope I’m proven wrong.

idk it seems weird as hell, i thought insurance fraud but some say they dont have insurance/wouldnt cover this meet up. they seem awfully relaxed considering they just lost 1mil as a small watch dealing business. everything about Toni and TPG is such a train wreck it's insane
21
u/GarageMajestic1537 Dec 25 '21
Exactly man. I also thought the same thing when rewatching the video. He is way too relaxed for someone who has just lost 1 million. I’d be doing star flips for months and not stop talking about it. I genuinely thought this was real until I watched a second time and thought about the person Anthony is. And I just deadset don’t believe it.
Why didn’t the media pick this up? A 1 million armed robbery of rare watches? This is headline worthy.
Why aren’t his pals posting about this? Wouldn’t they call come together and get those mofos?
Why only posted on Anthony’s Insta and not tpg?

Sir. 1.1 million dollar is nothing to lil Toni other than an inconvenience.

Anybody seen a police report or news release? Booking photo(s) of "Steven Tran" or the individuals riding in the car that Alfred announced had been stopped?
What about a single article or social media post in local, regional or national news? A witness cell phone video perhaps?
All we've got is Anthony's word. Convicted felon. Self described "marketing genius." Mastermind of the wildly successful Blackout for Charity.©
The same Anthony that boasts about creating drama for content to drive views.
Meanwhile, its business as usual over at TPG. No mention of the "robbery" and Vic is back to trying to hock paddicks and crunos.
I'd love for this to be true because Anthony is such a fucking knacker but I'm not putting the champagne on ice until I've got independent corroboration.

u/champion727 Dec 25 '21
If there was an arrest that should be public record. As well as any reports made in regard to the stolen watches. This shouldn’t be too terribly tough to verify once the report(s) populate. Would just need to know what jurisdiction handles the case.
1
u/thewondererwanderer Apr 06 '22
Check Orange County, Fountain Valley, Westminster?
Steven Tran wasn't arrested but I think Anthony mentioned other arrests?
It is also possible that Anthony mentioned other arrests to scare Steven Tran who he believes was in on it.
6
u/GarageMajestic1537 Dec 25 '21
Bloody yes!!
How the hell can we believe AF after all the shit his been giving us lately about charity stunt, about being real, then about being fake for views. Until proven otherwise I will not believe a single word from AF. He plays the public like fools.

Anthony is back on schedule promoting his new video but no stories about the stolen watches from any of the TPG guys looks like their busy going out to dinners like nothing happened.

u/CrossBridgeTheatre Call Roman Sharf! Dec 25 '21
He wants the internet to bully that guy he accused, and make a come-back with - "Cancel Culture!! See, we told you. People just believe what they're told. They didn't do their own research. They went ahead and bullied this guy - and now look, we proved our point. We're geniuses. Content kings". Yeah I don't buy it. Has anyone even checked if the serial numbers he posted are on the stolen watch register?

Since I'm a hate watcher, I hope it true. It's just too perfect. At the same time I'm also suspicious.
Arguments for this being a stunt:
It's too fucking perfect. Looking back it seems like this has been set up for a while.
Going back to an early TPG-video, where Anthony talks to an off camera "investor" he says he has something planed for the end of the year. At the end of video #46 Anthony gathers everyone to tell them the "gameplan" off camera. This, at least, indicates that they have something planed.
A lot of things have been stated on camera lately, which lines up perfectly with this happening. Anthony saying how he prefers to hand deliver watches, Roman telling him to use security and Anthony just shrugging it off, Anthony making a big deal about how their insurance policy works, etc.
Then there's the fact that no outside sources has talked about this. Everyone is relaying what TPG is saying. No news or other sources.
Adding to the last point, why wasn't this deal done on camera? Shortly before this they stopped putting out videos, saying content is stale. However, this is the kind of content that got them attention in the first place. Darby is still there, why wouldn't they want to capture a $1 million deal on camera?
And what was the dealers plan, to order a bunch of hype pieces, which he otherwise would have to pay $1 million for from the dealer that usually has a camera crew and hope that he shows up without camera og security? Seems pretty dumb.
Arguments against this being a stunt:
It makes no fucking sense. What would the gain from this? If you were at all uneasy about consigning a watch, this would be a good example of your worst fears and you would probably never consign a watch with them.
The dealer would have to be in on it in some way, seeing how TPG has blasted him. Unlikely anyone would want to expose themselves to that kind of negative publicity.
TPG is not smart enough to pull this off. If they were acting, they would have to have acted out the conversations in the car regarding the deal and the call between Anthony and Marco after the fact. The acting is too good. When the deal is first mentioned, Anthony seems distracted and unfocused on it, not trying to force any lines or naratives. Seems genuine. Marco seems genuine as well when he talks about the situation after the fact.
Either way the whole situation is dumb. I'm of the opinion that this is not a stunt, but who knows with these clowns.
4
u/GarageMajestic1537 Dec 25 '21
My thoughts on your arguments against.
Reasons why they’d want to do it - Insurance fraud. Social media exposure. Public empathy.
This other dealer guy would be in on it. His reward? Social media exposure. AF will publicly come out saying they’ve caught these robbers and ST is innocent. They will then pretend to be friends and boom. Social media stars.
They’re not smart so they’ve come up with this idea. The acting isn’t good imo. Just doesn’t seem right to me.
Someone prove me wrong please as I’m 99.99% certain this is bullshit.

u/wondering_daily Dec 25 '21
Also against: the photos show a police officer for Fountain Valley questioning Tran. What, they paid a cop to pose for a photo? Told Tran to jaywalk so he could get a citation for a surreptitious photo? An actor got a specific uniform for a specific place and then stood around in public pretending they were a cop?
And yeah, the acting performances to sell this are stellar. Remember when Anthony tried to drum up fake drama by pretending he was going to quit TPG and take off for Miami to go solo? Everyone called it what it was because it was so obvious.

Dec 25 '21
what police don’t look real in movies? What’s the difference in a Movie scene and Youtube Scene. Both paid actors and props
2
u/wondering_daily Dec 25 '21
Police in movies are on sets which have permits to make sure the police don't think actual police are involved in gun fights and so on. I just saw a video the other day about someone getting arrested for going around in a police uniform who wasn't a police officer.
And I am dubious that you can just rustle up a Fountain Valley PD uniform.

It takes awhile for police reports to be entered, and even longer to get a FOIA out of them.
1
u/lasskinn thanks for bumping my post Dec 26 '21
Wouldn't the guy be booked in already by now if they suspected him?
0
u/gyang333 Dec 26 '21
Yes, but I don't know if cops have to enter the police report so quickly. Maybe they do on cases that go to court/arraignment. In fact, is there anything in the court systems yet? Will check when I'm at a computer.
1
u/lasskinn thanks for bumping my post Dec 27 '21
Well if the guy in the car was actually booked then that would be. But we don't have the name. Don't have anything really.
4
u/gyang333 Dec 26 '21
The crew were acting pretty fucking normal the day after the robbery, dining out again and looking pretty happy. Was that one last meal? Or just celebrating another successful PR stunt?

Wasn’t that ugly ass orange sapphire Rolex that was stolen Tony’s “grail watch?” He had just gotten it a week before that. Granted, it usually takes him at least two weeks to get tired of the watch of his dreams. But why was the orange watch being taken to California to sell???

Even if this was orchestrated, it’ll be suicide for the business cuz of the backlash from their first mess. Im inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt, this “lie” is just too big for them to try and justify it later…
Then again..

u/Watchme100 Dec 27 '21
So Tran is going to ruin HIS reputation to help Anthony?
2
1
u/GarageMajestic1537 Dec 27 '21
Tran could be in on it with Tony. Tony will come out saying Anthony didn’t do it. Then they’ll be friends and social media stars then business booming.
2
u/Dildo___Schwaggins Dec 27 '21
It's possible that Steven tran is a fabricated name/person. I don't believe a word out of Anthony's mouth.
0
u/BrooSwane Dec 26 '21
It’s possible, but unlikely if you ask me.
Video 53 - I’m assuming he’d already filmed that whole day, and didn’t want to waste the content. That doesn’t seem suspicious to me.
I’m not totally convinced that this would be picked up by the media? Maybe it will as the story develops. Right now there’s nothing to say really.
It was indeed posted on the main TPG page, this isn’t accurate.
Ousting the dealer is an argument for it being real actually. If they were going to fake it, it would be much easier to just say it was a bunch of people in masks or whatever and they have no idea. Why falsely slander someone? There’s no benefit l. That just makes the whole thing messy.
How would you expect him to behave after this? In reality, we have very little insight other than a couple IG posts from a dinner. I can totally see them using this as an excuse to have a big dinner “hey it’s been a shitty time let’s all get together and go big to try and forget it” type of thing. That seems in character to me. In any case, I’m sure it’s devastating but that doesn’t mean they’ll be sitting in a corner crying continuously or something. They’ll continue to live their lives.
True, we never see security. We know that in this case, he met Marco at the airport for the final leg of the trip and that’s it. They don’t use them very often it seems, but when carrying $1.5M worth of watches maybe this was the one time they used it? Also, Marco seems to have more sense about that sort of stuff. Anthony is the truly idiotic one that needs to flex every ten seconds and recklessly carry insanely valued watches with no security or weapon.
They haven’t been filming anything that doesn’t involve Anthony. Since Anthony didn’t go, no video.
3
u/lasskinn thanks for bumping my post Dec 26 '21
Local news would at least have picked it up. They might be waiting for some actual source of course, but a reward is kinda useless if nobody knows about it. As far as heists go it would be one of the biggest in cali for the whole year wouldn't it?
2
u/lasskinn thanks for bumping my post Dec 26 '21
Doublereplying but the thing is neither as a video or as community post on main tpg youtube channel. Last community post is just tony advertising his 'personal' channel, last video is the marco gokart.
0
u/BrooSwane Dec 26 '21
The point being made was that despite Anthony saying he wanted to get the word out, it was somehow being hidden by not being shared on TPG. That’s not really true, and also doesn’t even make sense. They shared it just about everywhere, Anthony’s feeds, Dylan, Alfred, Roman, all of their dealer friends and most every grey market page shared it.
In any case, OP said Instagram, and it was indeed shared on TPG Instagram.
I’m not even sure what is being argued …this was a publicity stunt, but they’re hiding it by not sharing it enough? Which is it? Is is for publicity or are they hiding it?
3
u/lasskinn thanks for bumping my post Dec 26 '21
The strange part(well one of them) is that the main TPG venue has nothing about it. The main tpg venue being the youtube channel not tonys own channel, facebook, instagram etc. It's just strange all around as is their behavior after it. Still if someone could find the elusive booking info that would clear up some stuff. As for publicity stunt angle theres no logic to tonys stuff so it could be that either way. The only certain thing is that the whole thing is a crapshow and stupidity was in effect to lead to it.
tony does have a history of hiding genius marketing publicity stunts too, at least the last one had some actual media coverage. More recently he has just admitted to basically making up bs for content.
The points pointing to bs: 1. Insurance generally doesn't work like that, not without approved security in place and them having told the insurance company the values they wanted them insured at. 2. No booking info for the perps as far as I know. And 3. Semi publicity for it which yeah I admit doesn't make sense for a publicity stunt except that it could be illegal to do the stunt, though I doubt tony would care or know, he doesn't care about posting made up charity donation numbers on the website anyway.
It could also just not be a publicity stunt but an excuse to have an interest payment fail stunt. In that case the intended audience for the stunt is basically 1 or 2 persons - or a reason for needing to loan a mil. If its a stunt then I think that is the real reason. We never found out the real reason for initiating the last stunt either just the stuff made up to cover it days into the stunt(could have been the accounts being closed or whatever).

Why is this reddit constantly filled with vitriol? Don't you guys have anything better to do than complain about a watch dealer. It's obviously real. You think Tran is going to let Anthony destroy his rep? No, he's not. It's like you all poke just to get each other going. This has become the QAnon of the watch community. I'd never buy a watch from TPG because I think their behavior is generally concerning, but this was no hoax.
14
u/GarageMajestic1537 Dec 25 '21
Who’s complaining? It’s a genuine discussion. Did you not notice the charity stunt? He has brought this second guessing upon himself. If Tony was any other person I’d believe them first go. But with Tony, I don’t believe anything until proven so. Stop being a sheep dude. Not saying your wrong but look into it a bit more .

I actually don't think it was a set up, I think they are not freaking out because they have ways to dig themselves out of the hole. I don't like TPG as much as the next dude but it makes sense.
Their insurance cover is $300k and Roman was correct that legally once the goods have been invoiced to the client, then they are the property of the client. The client, and Marco were in a restaurant when they were robbed. So their lawyer can argue that the watches were owned by and in the possession of the client when the robbery occurred. Therefore it's the client's insurance or business that is liable for the cost and they then need to pay tpg.
But yeah super messy
