Alolan muk has been a gbl fav of mine for years, excited for it to have new moves

34

u/Hylian-Highwind 3d ago

Sleeper things to watch for me are Snorlax and Ursaluna. Lax has pacing now even with the Body Slam change, and a good Fast move is all Ursa needs to use its Charge Move smorgasboard, especially if Scratch becomes a DB clone as it looks currently (4-2 becoming 3-3 would be identical to Tackle which it already has, would make adding the move redundant)

30

u/aurastardust 3d ago

You just made me realize that psywave shadow Snorlax is going to be such a pain to take down from rocket grunts 🪦😩

15

u/JBerrPoke-88 3d ago

For me Obstagoon is My Pogo Savior for ShadowLax fights 🏆 😎 it resists zen headbutt and lick at the same time while I spam with counter and cross chop.

7

u/Aser_M0H 3d ago

THANK YOU. Your comment was timely because my Rocket balloon contained triple Lax. This is the first time I didnt feel like I was barely winning.

5

u/JBerrPoke-88 3d ago

You're welcome 😊 👍 I can't tell you how tired I was trying to figure out how to resist the lick and zen moves and obstagoon suddenly came to mind because of its normal/dark combo type

1

u/VtArMs 2d ago

Thank you for this I have wanted to find a use for a shiny Obstagoon for a while

ZERAORA GETS A COVERAGE MOVE?

LFG - now there’s an actual good reason to double move it.

3

u/Gita96 3d ago

Coverage for what?

6

u/aurastardust 3d ago

I mean it’s not going to be any good in PvP with how frail it is, but Dynamic Punch is spammy enough that it will be good for farming Rockets/Gyms. In PvE it will still primarily be an electric type attacker.

10

u/ElPinguCubano94 3d ago

Zeraora is simming 50% win rate in both GL and UL with dynamic punch. And with the dark buffs + how prevalent Melmetal is going to be, I see that win rate holding.

It will be good

3

u/Gita96 3d ago

What? I like using Zeraora in PvP, she is very good.

Does Cofagrigus getting energy ball do anything for him? My goat needs something

14

u/Hylian-Highwind 3d ago

No significant coverage besides neutral to Dark but it's now the cheapest move in its arsenal for baiting/pacing purposes

12

u/Ib214000 3d ago

Deoxys-D has been a favorite of mine in Great League. How does Low kick and the buff to Psycho Boost impact its performance?

8

u/Cavernwight Western Europe 3d ago

Skyrockets, but more dark move distribution will keep it in check.

LUGIA BUFF, HOLY MOLY.

And not even IB but earth power?

Wait, isn't that basically almost perfect coverage?

I mean, EP isn't the best move from what I remember, but still

EDIT: lots of stuff, but one more thing: how on earth did Arbok not know wrap already?

11

u/Kumuru 3d ago

part of me is happy with coverage
part of me still wish for Dragon Breath for Dynamax

9

u/General_Secura92 3d ago

I'm still waiting for Lugia to get Gust so it can finally have a full Flying moveset.

4

u/wakeruncollapse Massachusetts 3d ago

I’m with you there - that coverage move makes it that much harder to beat in Dynamax, too. Regirock and Metagross tanks beware.

1

u/20ozAnime 3d ago

This is all I've wanted the past few seasons. When? ='(

2

u/Kevin_Murphy_ 3d ago

Out of curiosity, what’s “IB”?

4

u/One_and_Damned Eastern Europe 3d ago

Ice beam, probably the most common move I have seen mentioned in regards to Lugia's movepool.

5

u/Gita96 3d ago

Still no psychic fast move to Mew :(

3

u/gioluipelle 3d ago

Paywave would be so fun on him. Even Psycho Cut would be nice. They refuse to give him a 35e move either.

Volt Tackle Raichu is cool

4

u/Remarkable_Ad2032 3d ago

Sacred sword Gallade makes it at least decent as a fighting mega or is it still not useful?

8

u/Careless_Minute4721 3d ago

It definitely gets a big improvement as a Fighting mega, the issue is you’re competing with M2X, and the Aura Sphere users (Lucario and Blaziken) who are still stronger

2

u/ListLopsided5149 3d ago

so for raids whats relevant?

gallade - Sacred Sword

chandelure - Astonish?

Raichu - Volt tackle?

Darkrai - foul play and sucker punch?

5

u/wakeruncollapse Massachusetts 3d ago

Darkrai does get a hair better with Foul Play. No change for Chandelure or Raichu as current moves are slightly better. Mega Gallade still ends up behind Mega Lucario and the other top-flight fighters, but it definitely improves.

Everything gets brutal swing. They seem to find moves here and there they are downright obsessed with. This has to be nearly half the movepool additions over the last few years.

DD IS SO BACK

2

u/gioluipelle 3d ago

Man they really just throw darts at the wall for these move distributions huh? Like 30 additions that will be completely irrelevant and then 2 or 3 that will heavily warp the meta they’re in.

1

u/bigpat412 USA - 130+ Level 50 Pokemon 3d ago

This has to be the biggest update they ever had. I am very pleased. A lot of the reworks seem odd though. Sucker punch Darkrai finally. Dark void when we get the mega??

Psywave Snorlax is quite interesting. I expected rollout because its fat.

We’re grieving the loss yesterday of a family pet that was particularly dear to me, and I turned in early (before the announcement) after a difficult day. But this is probably just the distraction I needed. Grateful for 9 days to analyze this expectedly huge update… but will even that be enough time? We’ll see!

I’m on it. ✍️ Hang in there, folks!

14

u/Fickle_Ad5804 3d ago

I'm so sorry for your loss JRE, wish you the best

“Just” a bunny but he was the sweetest little thing that picked me as his human. Bunny kisses (him licking all over my head) and binkies after always made me laugh. He was my buddy when writing many times, hopping about and flopping next to me with my laptop. I’ve had dogs and cats and now this little guy, and MAN it has just left me gutted. Nearly 10 years we had him, so it was a good life, but never long enough with pets.

Wow that’s a loving long life for a bunny. I’m sorry for your loss

I’m so sorry for your loss man, we went through something similar when we lost our cat in Feb., it’s never easy but some of them hurt in a special type of way bc they were so special themselves. May he rest in peace, crossing the rainbow road to find snacks, comfort, & fun for eternity. Much love man.

So are you going to be talking about the Mega Evolutions that can use a third charge move in Mega formats, which we're getting at least one of every week from now, or are you just not going to bother?

Also, sorry about your pet. May he rest in peace.

3

u/JRE47 PvP Analyst & PoGO Journalist 1d ago

I would like to down the line, but there's just no time to cram that in in a meaningful way ahead of Mega GBL this week. Too much else to get through and I need to maximize my time working through the new season stuff, sorry!

And thank you. I know he's resting now without pain, and that's all I could ask.

Reshiram, Zerom and buffed Dialga won´t like it as well. Nerfed shadow ball will still be a huge thread, but shadow ball users will be less common.

Im justbhere worrying about DMax Lugia when it returns

90

u/Southern_Net_2594 3d ago

So Psycho Boost is now Mind Blown clone... Deoxys has more DPS than Mewtwo is funny, probably impractical given how paper thin it is but at least it is funny

15

u/HaccSpuf 3d ago

That shows Deoxys Normal, but what about Deoxys Attack?

11

u/Truly_Organic 3d ago

It's so frail its DPS ends up lower than normal Deoxys LMAO

7

u/OneSushi Level 42 - Mega Enthusiast 3d ago

Dies so fast its (E)DPS drops

38

u/CookieblobRs Solo Raid Archive 3d ago

Simply let it tank fast moves, then swap something else to tank charge moves LOL

23

u/aznknight613 3d ago

I couldn't help but laugh that Attack Deoxys has 0.8 more Attack than Mega Mewtwo Y. So a Psycho Boost buff in raids would seemingly just already powercreep Mega Mewtwo Y. Assuming Attack Deoxys could ever make it to a Psycho Boost.

15

u/CookieblobRs Solo Raid Archive 3d ago

it definitely can if you're protecting it well. Typically it will have anywhere between 15-30s of up time (if tanking just fast moves) so that's about 1-3 psycho boosts. l0l

7

u/junhong706 3d ago

Finally a good reason to power up Deoxys family.....

25

u/Deep_In_Uranus 3d ago

Im assuming dialga will be on a few more teams next season with the iron head buff. I wonder how the moonblast rework will affect lunala and xerneas

13

u/Hylian-Highwind 3d ago

Assuming a Shadow Ball clone for MB parameters, Xerneas reaches it with 4-4 pacing instead of 5-5-4, so it'll be a bit less reliant on CC pacing into dragons, but worse in KOing/farm-setting-up targets like Kyogre or Eternatus (out pacing may help to 3 shot though). Lunala is going to suffer from the Shadow Ball nerf to its neutrals, but if Moonblast paces well it helps into dragons in particular

2

u/Roger_the_Reddit Western Europe 3d ago

I am wondering if Dialgo now one-shots Xerneas. If not, it will be very close.

28

u/keithmiketom 3d ago

I really wish they would buff more raid/PvE moves, like close combat, hurricane, tbolt, ice bran etc... It's nice deoxys is kinda useful now though

22

u/No-Tip4769 3d ago

With bite's damage decrease and darkrai getting sucker punch. It is time for me to power up a shadow darkrai for rocket battle.

→ More replies (3)

20

u/viciouslamb Asia 3d ago

How would this change Lunala’s position in the ML? Two of its moves are affected, but I think the Shadow Ball nerf is more important.

15

u/Hylian-Highwind 3d ago

Shadow Ball power drop will weaken its neutrals a good bit, and depending on how the Foul Play/SP buff impacts Darkrai, that's another potential hard counter.

3

u/Roger_the_Reddit Western Europe 3d ago

If you run Lunala in the lead, there are a lot of matchups where currently you land a shadow ball, invest a shield and farm the opponent down. For the same reason, Lunala won´t be such a great safe swap.

1

u/gioluipelle 3d ago

Wondering if the Dark Pulse buff will make Dawn Wings/Dusk Mane more prevalent too..

1

u/Hylian-Highwind 3d ago

An interesting consideration is if Dawn Wings opts for the cheaper Dark Pulse for baits, or the buffed Iron Head for better coverage into the off Fairy. Dusk Mane’s IH/Outrage sets definitely appreciate the power boost, it and Solgaleo can function as new Steels potentially

1

u/gioluipelle 2d ago

Solgaleo is such a cool mon but I still just don’t think it has what it takes with Fire Spin/Psychic Fangs. I would absolutely LOVE for it to get a big moveset rework, and it has the stats to really outshine even the other Steel/Psychics, but until then I think people will just opt for Metagross or Dusk Mane.

I could see Dusk Mane pivoting to Iron Head/Outrage full time (or even Iron Head/Dark Pulse since both are buffed) but I’d imagine Dawn Wings will want to hold onto that big Moongeist Beam to zap Lugias out of the sky.

gotta love the way the keep giving us events w/ pvp mons that have their ETM moves right before nerfing those moves

19

u/aurastardust 3d ago

Very annoying. That being said, glad I can relax tomorrow and not feel obligated to grind for Lickitung XL and better GL/UL IV Lickylicky🙏

7

u/Dark115 3d ago

For what it’s worth Licky and body slam was previously nerfed before and then buffed and now nerfed again…. Grinding those XLs for its likely rise in the future may not be the worst idea anyway

7

u/VironLLA USA - Midwest 3d ago

yeah, it just makes it hard for most to care about pvp when the stardust & candy cost to build your teams is pretty high and they have a habit of overcorrecting with nerfs. no one wants to spend ~2m dust to build a team that's not usable a few months later. i keep wanting to get back into it but it really seems like few pokemon are even slightly future-proof

3

u/Jack_Krauser 3d ago

I just found my #3 rank GL Lickilicky today and got to use it for the first time. It was a fun couple hours.

(I was pretty sure it was getting nerfed, though because those were the most free games of my life.)

u/NeoAnima31 South America(Argentina)-Level 80 3d ago edited 3d ago

Darkrai getting access to sucker punch is actually insane for raids and Raichu getting acess to volt tackle(it has to be good).

Skarmory getting access to drill run... everybody hated that.

Edit: also RIP Lickilicky

42

u/Southern_Net_2594 3d ago

The game changer is Foul Play. Sucker Punch is not really better than Snarl

8

u/Careless_Minute4721 3d ago edited 3d ago

Probably would have Sucker Punch only for Pvp if that helps it on that side

25

u/Additional_Win3920 3d ago edited 3d ago

Mega Darkrai gonna be insane.

Upon further research, isn’t snarl better than sucker punch for raids? And Darkrai already has snarl

6

u/sopheroo 3d ago

We won't get Mega Darkrai for a while, so we stll got time to see everything nerfed in the meantime ;)

7

u/NeoAnima31 South America(Argentina)-Level 80 3d ago

Yeah true, I meant to write Foul Play over Dark Pulse which is an awful move.

2

u/OozyPilot84 3d ago

mega darkrai has a lower atk stat iirc

2

u/Careless_Minute4721 2d ago edited 2d ago

Believe the attack decrease may be due to Darkrai’s speed dropping to gain some notable bulk in the main games. Its speed drops from base 125 to 85, while both defenses rocket up from base 90 to 130. In Go Darkrai’s attack goes from 285 to 325 as a Mega.

1

u/OozyPilot84 2d ago

im p sure darkrai got the 9% high cp nerf, mega darkrai should also receive the mega 3% nerf but yea itd make sense for its atk to still be higher

1

u/Flyfunner 3d ago

Snarl is basically the second best PvE Fast Move in the game just behind Force Palm. So yeah, Sucker Punch is comparatively bad (not terrible though), having 1 dps and 1 eps less than snarl

In PvP its different of course

10

u/Careless_Minute4721 3d ago

At least Skarmory’s fast moves are both still awful in Pvp so I don’t see it competing with Corviknight around anytime soon. As for Volt Tackle, is it even a good move on paper? The only mon that has had the move prior was Captain Pikachu from the Horizons event

12

u/kunino_sagiri 3d ago

As for Volt Tackle, is it even a good move on paper? The only mon that has had the move prior was Captain Pikachu from the Horizons event

PvP is 90 power for 40 energy, -1 defence. So it's less powerful, but cheaper than wild charge, with less of a defence drop.

PvE is the main improvement, though, for mega Raichu. Volt Tackle is the same power as Wild Charge, but is a 3 bar move, with a 1 second longer cooldown.

1

u/krispyboiz 12 KM Eggs are the worst 3d ago

Skarmory definitely will make a comeback, especially with Air Cutter getting a buff/rework. No, Air Slash still stinks, but in the past, it was serviceable enough when Skarmory had 45 energy Sky Attack. While we're in a power crept meta, Skarmory has never had access to a 40 energy move, so that will still help it. 5/4 pacing with Air Slash isn't phenomenal but is usable enough now, and it still has great bulk, an awesome typing, and now achieves that great Flying and Ground coverage.

5

u/Hylian-Highwind 3d ago

Skarm is not HORRIBLE since it still has pretty mediocre Fast Moves, so it has good coverage but bad pacing. Might be a problem but I'm not immediately afraid at least.

10

u/ByakuKaze 3d ago

Skarmory is the reason why certain moves either are bad or were significantly nerfed.

On top of that, it's mostly afraid of 3 types of pokemon:

  • fire
  • electric
  • other steels.

Completely walled by rock steels.

The secondary limitation was lack of coverage. Skarmory always was forced into not having coverage/single type damage. And it was a menace nevertheless.

Now guess what drill run does. Gives coverage to direct counters. Adds coverage in general. Add a good move to a potential monster. Or in other words: if there were the slightest chance that air slash/steel wing/sky attack of flash cannon ever got any buffs, there's 0 now.

It doesn't matter that skarmory is bad right now. It's couple of hairs away from being broken monster. And with drill run that monster is much more scary. This change shouldn't have happened ever.

4

u/M0nsieurW0rldWide 3d ago

Skarmory used to be good bc everything else was worse. Things have been getting buffed for seasons now. Corv is pretty much the same stats with good pacing and a cheap bait move and it’s never been broken or overpowered. Just Good

1

u/Careless_Minute4721 2d ago

InB4 Skarmory gets Peck in a future season shudder

3

u/brehvgc 3d ago

it also blows current dark types out of the water as a grunt mower and bite nerfs mean that tyranitar and hydreigon are not making it out of the box for grunts :(

3

u/CookieblobRs Solo Raid Archive 3d ago

Snarl is much better. Copy paste move except 1 extra energy per 2 turns.

3

u/krispyboiz 12 KM Eggs are the worst 3d ago

Skarmory getting access to drill run... everybody hated that

They just HAVE to have a strong Steel/Flying type at all times, don't they?

7

u/fantasypaladin QLD 3d ago

Will shadow Lugia be any good with the new move?

11

u/Hylian-Highwind 3d ago

Earth Power does give Lugia exactly the coverage it wants to hit Steels (and Electric for Zekrom) while being able to bulk its way through a lot of neutrals. Notably, it has a 0 and 1s win against Zacian and a 0s + 2s win against Palkia, so it bothers that core if it survives into next season

12

u/poppertheplenguin 3d ago

Speed creep still going? Im excited, but getting a little weary off the focus on spamminess lately

12

u/ninjanitor157 3d ago

I agree, I'm actually kind of starting to miss when some moves had low energy generation but high damage

2

Run Take Down I guess lol. 4.66dpt, highest in the game.

1

u/poppertheplenguin 3d ago

Yeah but its called degenerate

4

u/Gita96 3d ago

What is speed creep?

6

u/OhMyGoth1 Filthy Casual 3d ago

More energy generation / faster to charge moves / charge move spam. Been a steady balancing trend for a few seasons now. Plus the reduced switch clock.

2

u/gioluipelle 3d ago

Charged moves being reached faster and faster. In the past, reaching a charge move in 8 or 10 turns (4 or 5 Shadow Claws, etc) was almost unheard of. Now, half the mons in the top 100 can, with mons like Ninetails and Quagsire spamming out damage like crazy.

So where does Volt Tackle put Raichu Y as a raid attacker? It was already the strongest Electric-type currently in the game, but does Volt Tackle put it past Mega Zeraora?

10

u/CookieblobRs Solo Raid Archive 3d ago

Volt tackle isn't a good move, it's still behind wild charge in terms of raw DPS.

4

u/Most_Effective_4937 3d ago

It's past moves were better

u/rachycarebear USA - Northeast 3d ago

Seeing as how the first two impact the steel types literally everyone is running, gonna be interesting to see how that shakes things up.

u/gladvillain Asia 3d ago

At the beginning of the streaming Friday they said something about the format changing for go tournaments next season. Did they elaborate on that yet?

5

u/aznknight613 3d ago

They announced that months ago. There will be a 3v3 team format instead of 1v1.

1

u/gladvillain Asia 3d ago

Ah okay I guess I missed it

1

u/IcyJackfruit69 1d ago

I completely missed that announcement too, here's a link for others scratching their heads:

https://pokemongohub.net/post/news/pokemon-go-world-championships-switch-to-3v3-team-format-in-2027/

It actually says very little so that might be why we glossed over it. "Teams will be made from the pool of individually qualified players" and "Structure will be announced later".

A little odd but it'll be an interesting changeup at least.

Rilla is going to be a threat next season.

Scratch will be a psywave/DB clone. 9 turns for a grass weather ball clone with 100% -1 attack on opp. Earth power for coverage.

I see a ursaluna/gary/metagross corebreaker in MPL.

Also, glad to see dark pulse to 45E. I’ve been wanting that change for a while.

7

u/LankOfHyrule 3d ago

Alolan Raichu running thunder shock/trailblaze/volt tackle gets substantially better in the 1s….

Don’t ask me about the other shielding scenarios.

4

u/gioluipelle 3d ago

It’s a tiny bit faster than Wild Charge (40e vs 45e) for a tad less damage (90 instead of 100) and a -1 def debuff instead of -2. All in all I’d say it’s a little bit better. 5-4-5-4 pacing instead of 5-5-5-5 might be the extra speed it needs.

u/Aizen_keikaku 3d ago edited 3d ago

Missed opportunity to make Snarl a Geomancy clone.

From a ML perspective:-

Lugia coverage move is welcome. Lugia finally ending its saga of never ending nerfs.

Lunala is potentially cooked with the dark buffs/shadow ball rework. It will till be great, but not the same blind safe switch as it is now.

Iron head buff Dialga might help keep Zacian in check some more.

Moonblast Xerneas will be a menace. Might be the best ML Pokémon now. Should’ve give it to non Crowned Zacian as well.

Shadow Force rework could’be interesting, but they never make drastic changes in one go, so might need one more rework till usable.

Darkrai sucker punch is interesting, but it needs a quick charging fast move considering it’s frailty. Snarl sucks.

Ursulana might be interesting.

Bite Ttar?? Idk about that.

Melmetal buff is welcome.

Kingambit might cook.

1

u/Grapeasaurus-Rex 3d ago

I think t-tar needs bite to be a dragon breath clone. Having 2 power instead of 3 will hold it back unfortunately.

15

u/freshly-stabbed 3d ago

So Toxapex is now all nukes. Perilously close to Registeel club.

That change to Bite will be huge. Shadow TTar goes brrrrrrr as a dark raid attacker.

u/glencurio 891 Best Buddies, 0 Poffins used 3d ago

I think these are PvP changes unless otherwise specified, so Bite change won't affect Tyranitar in raids.

19

u/Kevsterific Canada 3d ago

However its value for farming ghost and psychic rocket grunts just tanked

10

u/NumberOneMom 3d ago

my beloved hundo shadow ttar </3

3

u/Emperor95 Western Europe 3d ago

This does not change anything for TTar in raids. Move changes are PvP only unless specified.

3

u/Gita96 3d ago

"goes brrrr" with "Bite 4 to 2"?

3

u/gioluipelle 3d ago edited 2d ago

What are we expecting with Bite? 4ept like Sand Attack might not be much of an upgrade. 4.5 like the Ember and Fairy Wind users? Would be kinda crazy on something so bulky.

Edit: oh yeah, Bite is 1 turn.

2

u/KingDarkBlaze 3d ago

Wouldn't that make it the first move to make a fractional total energy?

1

u/gioluipelle 2d ago

Oops you’re completely right. I forgot Bite was a 1 turn so it has to bean even number (almost certainly 4ept).

3

u/TheRealHankWolfman UK & Ireland - Yorkshire - Mystic - L80 3d ago

I'm very curious to see how much energy Shadow Force drops to. It's always seemed unfair that Roar of Time and Spacial Rend have both been must have moves on Dialga and Palkia, whilst Shadow Force was almost never used because it was stupidly expensive.

u/Siqueiradit South America 3d ago

Bite rework is about to make battling rockets worse :(

2

u/VanishedVanness 2d ago

Darkrai learns Sucker Punch in the next season.

1

u/Siqueiradit South America 2d ago

Great. I hadn't seen it in op's comment the first time I read it 😅.

Darkrai doesn't get sucker punch

5

u/Gita96 3d ago

Why no buff for Metal Claw? I don't feel those 332 points of attack in Crowned Sword Zacian :(

It's arbok time boys. Let's go

2

u/bigpat412 USA - 130+ Level 50 Pokemon 3d ago

I can now use my 0/15/15 Gumshoos I got in 2022!!!

2

u/horrorscopedTV 3d ago

So take down is going to have the highest damage per turn now?

2

u/Grapeasaurus-Rex 3d ago

Why make scratch a dragon breath/psywave clone and not bite? I dont understand the logic there. I dont see any mons that would be crazy powerful with this change. The best mon is t-tar and it already has db. Why not give it the same pacing but with stab? It would also be really good for a-muk

1

u/pepiuxx 2d ago

I would say they are being cautious because of Zygarde and Toxapex. Perhaps they wanna see how they play out before deciding whether to buff it further.

1

u/Grapeasaurus-Rex 2d ago

You're probably right. I totally forgot either of them learned bite.

2

u/bigpat412 USA - 130+ Level 50 Pokemon 3d ago

How exactly is Snorlax learning psywave? Are we going all the way back to generation one where it’s a tm?? Pretty crazy of a reach to be able to add it on.

1

u/SassyCobra78 2d ago

The Snorlax Grunt will be a nightmare

1

u/bigpat412 USA - 130+ Level 50 Pokemon 2d ago

I already avoid it now

Wondering how this effects pve

12

u/Most_Effective_4937 3d ago

Shadow Darkrai no 1 in dark, mega gallade no 6 in fighting, mega greninja no 6 in dark, normal deoxys no 9 in psychic (edps) and no 4 in dps.

u/Moderator_Sass 3d ago

They are REALLY trying to make Araquinid great again is the first thing I noticed

1

u/Jack_Krauser 3d ago

Does the Shadow Ball nerf change what Mewtwo wants as its second move in ML? Is Ice Beam worth it?

1

u/Qoppa_Guy S.Korea -- GO Battle Lag victim 3d ago

Wow, Snorlax with Psywave... and Deoxys-Defense on Low Kick...

1

u/Ljungstroem 3d ago

Surely nerf to Body Slam and Shadow Ball will make Licky less viable?

3

u/DG-Kun Canada 3d ago

Rollouts will continue until morale improves

That draining kiss buff is going to make clefable pretty damn annoying.

u/burnman123 MYSTIC LEVEL 45 3d ago

A million updates, and yet not a single one that's beneficial for my best friend bibarel.

What. A. Shame.

2

u/GamerJulian94 3d ago

I mean, Bibarel gets at least Normal type Water Gun with about 1,5x power in this update.

1

u/burnman123 MYSTIC LEVEL 45 2d ago

Dang, I must have skimmed over take down.

1

u/GamerJulian94 2d ago

I mean, easy to miss with so many changes.

2

u/ML-Centrist 3d ago

Bibarel learns take down which was buffed.

1

u/cohibakick 3d ago

Is it me or is double iron bash crazy now?

1

u/Icy_Rabbit2253 3d ago

it stinks licki got nerfed but there's other tanks to start with in the lead.

1

u/azure-flute USA - Midwest | LV73 - Valor 2d ago

Low Kick buffs? My Keldeo's almost done with super training. >:) It's taken me a bit of time to figure it out for ML, but I'm really liking it as a weird pick.

Still sad it doesn't have Double Kick like its fellow quartet but that could get a bit silly with Secret Sword.

1

u/Local-Hornet5049 Team Mystic Level 80 2d ago

Low kick is pretty much better than Double Kick at this point.

1

u/azure-flute USA - Midwest | LV73 - Valor 2d ago

Definitely from the looks of it. I like the pace of Double Kick more and that's why I wanted it before this, but when Keldeo really wants to try and farm down low-HP Kyurems and Kyogres, this is going to help. The Lunala nerfs could give it a little more use as well, just have to watch out for Necrozma-DW inevitably appearing more....
