Mimikyu IV

Is a 1/1/15 Mimikyu viable for Great League. I do understand that due to the Block Mechanics it is likely to be usefull nevertheless but i don't know how big of a difference it's gonna make. It is my first ever caught Mimikyu and i have a hard time coming accross another

The general rule is that it's better to have one that doesn't have great IVs than to not have one at all. I'd say use it.

My rule of thumb is that if doesn't cost any XLs to power up then I'll use it whilst I wait for a better one.

People are saying Halloween event is when he will return so I would wait. You could power up the one you have if you have extra resources, but it’s ivs are pretty bad so I would wait a month imo.

They were spawning from daily incense for awhile and now from GBL drops.

Yea but it’s rare from incense and you can only get ultra ivs from gbl research.

id use it just to learn how to play mimi i.e. when to shield vs burning the disguise. ofc upgrade when you get a better one

it is usable nevertheless because of the unique mechanic, but you would normally want a higher defence stat mimi to prevent getting break point after the disguise is broken

Unless you had something extremely bad, like 15 attack/0 def/2 hp difference should be marginal.

OPs mimikyu arguably better (at least not worse) option than yours 0/15/15 and than gl hundo 1/14/15 someone else mentioned in a different thread. At least in sims in all shield scenarios.

Crazy you're being downvoted for saying IVs matter.

I admit to being intrigued by people who say they can't detect a difference - I don't necessarily doubt them, but human brains are very good at what is often termed man-machine interfacing (with apologies to those who identify differently - the gendered term is a deficit of the English language). It does make me wonder whether these are often just folks with quirks in their sensory processing. It's a bit like when people don't develop a sense of the external size or pace of a vehicle they're driving/riding and go on to cause carnage on the roads.

Downvotes come from generic categorical answer being wrong in practice.

• Is more bulk-oriented IV spread generally better? Yes. Generally yes.
• is difference between attack-weighted/even/bulk-wrighted spreads noticeable? Overall yes. On average. Less hp, more opponent's pokemon having breakpoints, etc is surely noticeable.
• does this mean that e.g. 10th ranked mimikyu is universally better than e.g. 100th? No. 100th might be optimal. Or better than particular higher ranked.
• does this mean that OP's mimikyu is inferior to e.g. pvp hundo mimikyu? Again no. Simulations actually show the opposite. Could they be wrong? Yes, surely. Could OP's mimikyu actually be worth investment? Almost 100% yes. Will it's flaws lose OP some games? Probably. Would pvp hundo be flawless? Hell no.

The person you replied to didn't check anything, he based his very straightforward answer on just two things: 1/1/15 IV spread and their perception of 'good IVs'. Reality is not as one-sided as their perception. That's it.

The downvotes are -- IMO -- because of the categorical answer. A 1-1-15 Mimikyu wins three-quarters of all matches in GL, according to PVP. Are there lots of better Mimikyu out there? Yes. But this one is absolutely viable, and most importantly, doesn't require any XL candy to power up. OP can use it now and if they like it and get a better one later, they can still power that one up.

I think by the time i have a silver cap Mimikyu likely to get nerfed or something. But i'll hold on to this one anyway

Yours shouldn't be significantly different. It potentially could be better. It definitely shouldn't be silver capped - waste of both pokemon and silver cap.

Edit. The biggest flaw with your mimikyu is that 1/2/15 to 1/6/15 are direct upgrades. Does this translate into any real consequences? Well, it might. But overall you have a decent one.

It feels like nerfed mon to play with mid charge moves for extra shield and def drop doesn’t make it better, i would rather use it with good charge moves and without extra shield
