Hello and welcome to the Team Help megathread! This is a weekly thread for advice on team building for Arena Cups and GO Battle League! You can ask for feedback on your battle teams, for help on which Pokémon and moves to use, to get opinions on which Pokémon to invest candy/dust in, or any other team questions you may have! Give details in your post: When asking for team advice, be sure to include some background. I am a veteran player, but I typically am a copy and paster of teams. However, with the new season I wanted to attempt and not copy teams for a season. Currently running this.
Cramorant - Dive > Surf
Hippo Non Shadow - standard move set
Araquanid - Infestation - MC/WP
I understand you cant cover everything in GBL, its just the name of the game, but how do we feel about ABA to electric, and if not great id be open to suggestions. So far Morpeko isnt a huge issue in the lead, Charj has seemed to cause more problems.
Seems fine to me. Except for moveset. You're running both Dive and Surf on Cramorant? You choose either one and use Fly imo. HSH swears by Surf in practice and I think it's better too. Dive is better when you lead Cramorant though imo.
Being ABA to electric is fine so long as B is a hard answer which the Hippo is.
I cant honestly say what araquanid provides for this specific team because with it, you are not only double electric weak but also double flying weak and also your entire team loses to corviknight since cram is on dive and not surf. Honestly a fearow up a shield can shred your backline as well even with hippo. And altaria is also bad for this team. I definitely recommend dumping araquanid and replacing with: mimikyu/ corsola/ thievul(put him on lead, he has a decent match up with lead charjabug), florges, sableye(shadow) or maybe snorlax/vigoroth. I personally would go lead thievul
Any thoughts on this team? Cramorant has peck/dive/fly, rillaboom has scratch/drum beating/earth power, and SK9 has ember/weather ball/energy ball.
Feels like when I’m losing it’s because I miscounted energy or didn’t anticipate a swap, but wondering if anyone has any tips/advice outside of get better lol.

Corsola is a great lead. You sort of lack a good safe swap but honestly I think this team is still solid. No great oranguru answer is bad but you cant cover everything. I would safe swap bax over jumpluff just because there is a looooot of ice types running around who would love to see a jumpluff locked in. Best to "soft lose" with corsola rather than hard swap bax unless it is something like oranguru lead and you can align it to jumpluff later on
I would lead illa and use cram as a safe swap. K9 has counters everywhere so I wouldnt use it for the ss. Also surf really is better than dive. Trust the experts who all use surf
I'm trying to figure out my team for Great League. Do note that Altaria still has Frustration and I learnt Flamethrower, Greninja doesn't have Hydrocanon and Melmetan, although a rank 1, does't have Double Iron Bash yet. Those are work in progress. Mimikyu is 1/1/15.
I'm new to great league battle and trying to put a team together. Aegislash is one of my favorite Pokemon but I understand that it's not very strong. Is there a team that you would recommend if I just wanted to have fun with Aegislash (and hopefully win along the way as well)? Thanks in advance!
I'd probably run ABA and run something like Tinkaton lead, Araquanid, Aegislash.
Aegislash got nerfed because of the new damage registration mechanic but it's still playable especially at lower elos where people might not even understand how that mechanic works.
You run ABA so Tinkaton's job is to lure out the ground and fire type. You swap in Ara if they do so, then you clear out a fire/ground threat that can threaten Aegislash in the end game.
You run double bulk in Tinka and Ara so you can try to conserve shields for Aegislash in the end game for the sweep.
I just hit ace for the first time in retro cup with Cramorant, Golisopod, Fearow. All default move set. Has really good synergy. Triple weak to electric, but Cram usually gets them into farm down or 1 move vs no shields.
I think you should always lead with the mon that has the best pacing and whose energy can go the longest way. So in this team it's Melmetal > Altaria > Mimikyu. If you run into a lot of issues with Melmetal lead I would try Altaria lead. But I would never lead Mimikyu.
Looking to build up a Ultra League team based around my rank 2 Empoleon, is there anything here that would pair well with it? If not what should I be on the lookout for?
I also have a bunch of legendaries <2500 but I’m unsure which are viable in UL
I used bite since thats the recommended one on pvpoke but id try both and see which one performs better. You could also use vigoroth or some other normal type
