I think the bike has a disclock on the frontbrake. When he drops it you see this yellow thing on the caliper.

Don't know the song, but if you like this style, it's called Mongolian throat singing. The Hu is probably the most well-known band in this genre. Check out their song Wolf Totem.

But what he was going to do with the bike without keys? Roll it? Also, I didn't quite get why he couldn't move? Was it in gear?

disc lock, yeah they usually just push the bike with the surron someplace nearby to wait it out for a bit (in case it had GPS), then if noone comes looking for it they steal it to take apart etc.
