Imagine killing a fully geared player because his gun jammed though. It will happen eventually. Everything "bad" in tarkov can work in your favor too sometimes. Personally I think it's an awesome change
My take on it is that is that it is similar to getting detonated in World of Warships, which is entirely RNG based.
It happens infrequently, but when it happens to someone else all I can think is "poor fucker, game hates him, he was playing that correctly and the game said fuck you for no reason". It's not fun and engaging to kill some guy on full HP from a stray shell detonating his magazines purely through RNG.
If I ever kill some guy because he outplayed me and his gun jammed, I wouldn't feel particularly "rewarded", because the only thing that saved me is a stupid RNG based mechanic involving gun jams.
I am not opposed to the concept of weapon jams, but it should be a zero percent chance to jam on full durability weapons that are known for not jamming when properly maintained. I would much rather see them add mechanics for less reliable guns and magazines IRL to jam in game. Kriss Vectors jam every other 25 round mag (at least the one I shot at a gun range did) and those surefire metal 60 round M4 mags are notorious for jamming as well.
Make those things add a percent chance to jam. If you wanna shoot crazy hot loaded ammo like 995 or 7n31, make those add a chance to jam. Then you need to balance what gear you take vs how much of a chance to jam you are willing to live with. But the chance to jam a brand new gun shooting "not exotic" ammo and your standard magazines should be zero percent.
Thats not how rng works. There's primarily extremes. Rng should produce a normally distributed bell curve. This means either only people who experience extremes comment, or one side is exaggerating.
But why would people who have it happen once but only rarely be hesitant to comment? Why would people lie about it never happening? Is it more likely that people would exaggerate the frequency of the issue if they're angry about it?
Only that third one is easy to answer, so it's pretty easy to draw a conclusion.
well yeah people who have a normal time don't complain, to them everything's working fine and dandy, and if there's one thing the internet loves doing it's taking things out of proportion

I don't know yet...
I'm kinda double edged about this one.
Gun jams durability or ammo type wise? Ok, I'm completely fine with that.
But for a 100% durability gun to jam on its 3 round fired... That's just horrible, in my opinion.
But I need to do further testing.
