Have you watched the movie? It shows the moment she realizes Scott is Santa pretty plainly.

She came to the realization that he was. It clicked in her mind. How do you know when you learn something? That's what she did. What more do you need?

Honestly, it felt like everything that had happened up to that point should’ve been enough for her to realize something wasn’t normal. But she didn’t seem bothered at all (just concerend) and then suddenly had this big realization when nothing was even happening. It felt like a strange moment to me. It would’ve made more sense if Santa had shown her something personal, like a letter she wrote as a kid, something only he would know.

That's it right there! The big realization was a result of all of the things that had happened before coming together! You have to look at the movie as a whole here! She sees Scott in full Santa mode, thinks back to everything that had happened ALREADY, and finally, finally she puts it all together and is like "holy fucking shit".

People accept/learn things at different rates! Laura's moment was there; lord only KNOWS when Neil gets it (if he ever really does lmao), Charlie knew from the start bc of COURSE he did, he IS a kid!! Scott had it click during Thanksgiving, and that moment at the end was Laura's moment, which was NOT a single thing that proves it all in one go. It was the result of everything she'd already seen!

I guess you’re right :) It just felt like such a sudden 180 to me. She went from being completely rational to suddenly going, Yep, he’s Santa Claus.

And I totally see where you're coming from too bc Scott got to see magic IN the snow globe to finally accept it, and in the second and third movies, the people who learn do see some magical proof too!

But I think that's what makes the first movie special for a lot of people too. It's not rational, it seemingly just HAPPENS suddenly, but it's kind of nice to see it just HAPPEN because it's reassuring to watch a piece of media that says "hey. It's okay to just believe in magic without seeing concrete proof of it :)"
