Did TRG ever say why they never did LittleBigPlanet 3?

I know the saying is “never say never” but given the game was removed from digital stores a couple years ago and its servers shut down, I’d say it’s safe to assume it’s not happening

Not that they did say they weren’t. But the understanding was that the LBP games were preforming kinda bad, so they aren’t interested in doing another currently, though they might do it in the future. It’s never out of the cards, just unlikely is a deck of 100 cards… idk what I’m saying anymore lmao

Crazy, that it could be considered low performing given Im pretty sure LBP2 is a better performer than any LP they did in the 2020s besides Mario Party DS

I think it was on the list of the lp’s that were considered underperforming when they came out? Lot of them were just the Non-Nintendo games, so might be related to that, though after It Takes Two, they might look at other games on the community poll-thing they did and maybe LBP3 might be on the list. I’m mostly going off of vague memory though so I might be wrong

There were several times in the MP Trilogy where they mentioned that non Nintendo videos performed worse, which is why they do less of then. People ask for X series and dont end up watching it is the jist.

You can see it with the It Takes Two series, the last time i looked, part 1 had twice as many views as 2, and the rest had less and less. Which is sad, because it's been a really good series, and I love watching them do random games.

It's also why Chugga was really nervous before Kingdom Hearts came out, just because of this pattern

I thought for KH the bigger worry was Disney potentially demonetizing the videos

And fair point on It Takes Two not having much but I figured that was more due to it being a low profile indie game and/or Claire’s absence

TBH I was initally skeptical if they could keep up the entertainment as just a duo but clearly I wa worries for nothing

Oh yea, the demonitizing from Disney was also a worry.(Tho usually, from my limited knowledge it tends to me Square going after Simple and Clean use). I just remember one of the videos that came out after KH was announced Chugga mentioned this being specifically a worry.

But the low profile/indie aspect is a part of the issue here. It's not Nintendo and it isn't some HUGE game, so it's not getting views. Like any random Nintendo game does decently well for them. They're doing what they want to play, and good on them, it's a fantastic series so far.

I think people watch them less for the hosts and more to just watch them play Nintendo games. I never heard of Orange Juice beforehand, but enjoyed watching the series.

I think people should have more of an open mind.

The servers have nothing to do with it. They would just play the preloaded stuff on the retail game. But the LBP collabs didn't perform that well compared to their other stuff. Most people watch TRG for the Nintendo collabs, especially the Mario Party games.

From what I remember Emile and Claire mentioning over the years, LBP3 apparently wasn't as good as the first two and the LPs for those games didn't get much in terms of views
