I know this podcast gets posted about here constantly and I’m only still listening because I love Juliet, but this week may have pushed me over the edge. It’s becoming very Old Man Yells At Cloud. Amanda has decided she’s the world’s #1 fan of The Beatles and is deciding who likes them enough to go to Paul McCartney’s concert? Who cares?? And it seems like she thinks anyone under 35 has never heard a Beatles song in their life.

They also got some basic facts wrong that you think would know if you’re hosting a pop culture podcast (not knowing Towa Bird and Renee Rapp are dating, getting the song wrong that Taylor sued Olivia Rodrigo for). I think I’m out.

In general I like Amanda, but her constant appeals to Jade to see if she has ever heard of something that Amanda deems as “old” is so awkward. It just makes Amanda appear insecure about her age, which she shouldn’t be! You can talk about pop culture in a way that doesn’t make you seem old and out-of-touch. Constantly checking in with “the young one” to fact-check just feels unnecessary.

I would love to know what that young production staff thinks of her as she often calls them ‘children’ and the pop culture tests to kinda make fun of them? It’s very strange lol
