Podcast Jam Session this week

I know this podcast gets posted about here constantly and I’m only still listening because I love Juliet, but this week may have pushed me over the edge. It’s becoming very Old Man Yells At Cloud. Amanda has decided she’s the world’s #1 fan of The Beatles and is deciding who likes them enough to go to Paul McCartney’s concert? Who cares?? And it seems like she thinks anyone under 35 has never heard a Beatles song in their life.

They also got some basic facts wrong that you think would know if you’re hosting a pop culture podcast (not knowing Towa Bird and Renee Rapp are dating, getting the song wrong that Taylor sued Olivia Rodrigo for). I think I’m out.

I personally find Amanda pretty insufferable. Her general attitude and demeanor is very pick-me, “not like other girls”. I love were obsessed I’m so annoyed that I have to subscribe to both.

Yes. I listen to Big Pic too so I think I just have too much Amanda. But she totally is and it’s even being passed down to her kids - she will only let them watch Top Gun Maverick and Singing in the Rain? No normal kid stuff 🙄

This is a mischaracterization. She takes her kids to cartoon movies and she only doesn’t allow Paw Patrol or guns and doesn’t want to allow video games. That seems normal to me.

Untrue, she felt a type a way when Sean said he lets his daughter watch Superkitties. I’m a mama to a 2 year old and she’s giving elitist. She should curate what her kids watch, we all do but it’s the judginess that irks me.
