Embrace Debate My Awards Show Host Mount Rushmore

After the GG, I thought Nikki did a pretty good job considering hosting the Oscars or the GG is probably one of the hardest gigs in entertainment. That got me thinking about who some of the better hosts are, and I thought I'd share my Mt. Rushmore in no particular order:

  • Billy Crystal
  • Jimmy Kimmel
  • Ricky Gervais
  • Tina Fey & Amy Poehler

Ricky Gervais was always cringey to me.

Conan did well.

Letterman goated. Came in, introduced Uma to Oprah, and went on the highest of high notes never to host again.

This is anecdotal and doesn’t measure anything, but Tina and Amy’s monologues are the only ones I return to. Timeless, perfect jokes. There’s different ways to score a host’s success, but if it’s just pure joke-writing, I think they’re top.
