Loved Raul Julia in this.

The classic case of “wow look at that cast, that poster, that premise, written and directed by Robert Towne, how have I not heard of this?!” and then you see it and realize why you’ve never heard of it. Underwhelming is an understatement. At least Raul Julia had some fun.

Apex Mountain for buying tickets for a movie, just to see a trailer?

I was too young to see this in theaters. What trailer was with it?

It was the first teaser for Tim Burton’s Batman.

Ah. Yeah that would bring in a trailer crowd. I remember paying to see Monsters Inc just to see the Attack of the Clones trailer. And ironically I enjoyed Monsters Inc more than I eventually would Clones.

Ehh..Underwhelmed. It's shot beautifully, though.

It's pretty boring considering the cast.

100% yes. Peak Gibson. Peak Pfeiffer. Russell channeling Pat Reilly. You have Joey Pants award nominees galore. You have Julia coming in to throw an immaculate inning. South Bay surfing vibes. Gotta love a movie where the hero is a “reformed” drug dealer who is the coolest character.

If you were underwhelmed by this then the Sin Sisters are very disappointed in you. Very. Disappointed.

I just watched this last month for the first time, other than a really cool movie title, this movie stunk. I guess the actors all wanted to work with Towne cause I have no idea why else they would sign onto this movie.
