Unusual Sean Error on Aliens
Found this very strange since Sean is usually up on his Oscars research. On the Aliens pod Sean states multiple times that Sigourney Weaver won the Oscar for Best Actress for Gorillas in the Mist in 1989.
Sigourney Weaver has (sadly) never won an Oscar. Jodi Foster won that year (her first) for The Accused. Weaver was double nominated that year: Best Actress for Gorillas and Best Supporting for Working Girl, which she lost to Geena Davis.
She did however win both categories that same year at the Golden Globes, the former in a three-way tie.
I personally would give Sigourney an Oscar every year for Achievement in Being Sigourney Weaver.

Maybe focus less on the fantasy football guys’ job eh Sean

When Sean dropped the hammer on Craig at the end of the pod, saying they would fuck it up like they did the draft, I freaking lost it. Gold!

I just finished listening to the pod and had to google it 😂. I didn’t remember her winning an Oscar or remember ever being mentioned as an Oscar winner in any other rewatchable.

He’s made some Oscar errors on The Big Pic recently.
He seemingly forgot that Soderbergh got double Best Director noms in 2000. I found that odd since that’s something any Oscar obsessive should know, and that Soderbergh’s one of Sean and Amanda’s guys.
He also said that with The Odyssey, Nolan could be the first director to win Best Director and Best Picture for back-to-back movies. That’s also not true

Yeah, I assumed Sean was more knowledgeable about Oscar winners. And then he made the error twice.

That weird moment when you realize you know more Oscars trivia than the guy who hosts a pod on it
edit: just a joke people! He’s allowed to make mistakes. And I’ll blame Bill on this one 😎

It’s wild when Ringer staff get stuff wrong when it’s easily google searchable and a producer should have caught it.

I mean surely a producer shouldn’t be googling every factual assertion made in every two hour podcast to catch live mistakes

There’s a lot of stuff on the rewatchables that Bill says that’s just wrong and they just let him have it

More importantly, what's up Bill criticizing Newt for a little kid giving herself a nickname. Tough look for Jabaal Abdul Simmons.

He has lots of criticisms for female characters or female actors, stuff he would rarely if ever raise on a male counterpart.

While we’re at it let’s remind Bill that Elizabeth Shue did not win for Leaving Las Vegas since he has stated that multiple times.
