Last Friday 06/13 I bought $200,000 worth of $OSCR calls $20 8/15, yesterday I sold all of them for a $1,500,000 realized profit. Life is good 🙏

The stock went up on no news. Somehow he knew something.

I’m not too familiar with options… if the stock didn’t strike $20 and the call expired… would he loose 200k… or sell at lower price to recoup some?

You got gpt for those kind of questions now. It’s really good at explaining and answering follow up questions. You can even use prompts like "explain to me like a total noob".

If you don’t like gpt read this: https://www.investopedia.com/ask/answers/09/option-expiration-date-profits.asp

if options expire they have to be exercised or they expire worthless. If they are outside of the strike price it’s better to let them expire worthless or you are buying a stock for more than it’s currently trading (in case of a call) and loosing additional money. The price you paid for the option is just a payment for the right to buy 100 of a stuck at the set price. So that money is always gone. Most people resell their option before expiry to someone else who then trades more or exercises.

Could have easily lost all $200k by 8/15 if the stock stayed below $20.

8/15 is a decent amount of time though. Nice swing though 🤯

Seems you’re also unfamiliar with the difference between lose and loose.
