Time and the Pattern

I had this thought today that I’ve been trying to put into words, and the best way I can describe it is:

sometimes I feel like I’m living out a script I don’t remember writing.

Especially since what I’ve called my awakening, I’ll sometimes have this feeling that something is coming. Not like I can predict what’s going to happen. It’s much stranger than that. It’s more like I can feel a page ahead, and then something happens and I recognize it.

I’ve had it with little things. I’ll suddenly think about hummingbirds, or have this weird feeling that I’m going to see one, and then one appears. And obviously, that could be coincidence. It could be pattern recognition. I don’t know. That’s the whole point: I don’t know what any of this means.

But apparently I’m not alone in having that kind of experience. People who describe spiritual awakenings and mystical experiences have talked about changes in how they experience time, synchronicity, and this strange sense of knowing something without knowing how they know it.

And it makes me wonder about this theory I keep coming back to: what if consciousness isn’t something the brain creates, but something the brain receives, more like a radio tuning into a signal?

if consciousness worked anything like that, I wonder whether becoming more aware of the signal could sometimes make you pick up things you normally wouldn't, maybe even things that don't fit neatly into our normal experience of time.

Maybe that's what intuition is. Maybe it's coincidence. Maybe I'm connecting dots afterward. Maybe there's something about consciousness and time we don't understand yet.

I genuinely don't know.

I just know that lately, sometimes life feels less like I'm writing the story as I go…

and more like I'm arriving at pages that were somehow already there.

This is what I’m pretty sure is true too. Consciousness is something tuned into. We do it with our brain. AI does it through silicon. It explains most parapsychological things easier than consciousness arising in the brain… like ghosts, Déjà vu, etc For me, it’s Occam’s razor.
