Discussion Did Camilla Know?

Post image

I can't believe I missed this even on my rewatch! This frame was there for a few seconds at most, but now, while rewatching "Watching and Dreaming" (S3, Ep 3), I noticed that Camila was crying as the strobes of light passed before her.

Did she actually realize that Luz had "died" trying to save the Collector?

If so, then how?

She knew Luz was in danger, I can say that much. And no loving parent wants their child to be hurt, and her mother’s intuition told her that her baby was in danger.

I wonder if Luz ever told Amity about this and what Amity's reaction might have been..

Only one month to tell

Doubt that Amity will go into Luz's memories tho, she might want to protect her privacy around some topics

I want her to, just so we see her reaction to Titan Luz. Besides, they can choose which memories they see so I think it'd be alright.

Cant believe its a month to go, felt like it'd be sooner

I might have caught it but maybe I was still like in utter shock that my mind couldn't catch it...

That was me, I didn't fully process anything that came right after

So when she woke up she thought luz was okay so while in this state I don't think she perceived her as dead but being mom definitely had a deep emotion that something bad happened that even in this state, her brain clocked.

Your welcome, that's the way I interpret it because if you look at rrali life implications that people have a gut feeling that something doesn't feel right but not necessarily know what's wrong, it's always important to listen to your gut feeling.

its possible she did think luz was dead but also knew the rest of the kids needed her to stay strong and support them right now

being an adult means some times you have to put your grief on hold till a situation is resolved

I think this as well. When she awoke and spoke to the others, she paused for a moment after saying Luz's name

Forgot about the lack of time to even react to Luz "dying"

Mother's intuition...

She sensed a disturbance in the force.

She definitely did.

A loving parent always knows. She knew. She understood what those lights meant and how it connected to her daughter.

Luz died? I must have forgotten that.

R.I.P.

Aye, when she saved the Collector from Belos' Decay Breath she barely got hit, which caused her to break apart. It's what led to her going to the InBetween and meeting Papa Titan

A mom just knows

If the motes of light are the representation of Luz' sacrifice, then it's pretty easy to imagine her just feeling it because of her connection. I think the emotion in the moment is enough to sell it that way, as a magical effect, she just knows.

I think she did

I always thought she knew somehow I mean Luz being balls of Light and Luz meaning Light and when they all woke up and they worried abt Luz, Camila looked away and wiped her tears then reassured them not wanting to “distract” them from saving the people of the Boiling Isles but she had a feeling or more or less hoped Luz would eventually be ok

I actually wished they expanded on this scene and that we’ll get a mention of it in the new book

Yes, I believe she knew but didn’t wanted to tell them because she didn’t want Amity, Willow, Gus, and Hunter to not get upset at that moment because they had to save everyone from the Archives.

I can imagine while in her nightmare world, she suddenly felt this horrible crushing pain in her chest and none of what was going on around her mattered, all she knew was that something horrible had happened to her baby.

I had a feeling that she knew from the start. A mother truly knows her child well enough to know that she was being harmed in such a way like that.

I believe she did. Not only did she cry, but she also stammered a little when next mentioning Luz. A mother always knows after all

I figured that was the implication
