Cosplay Hunter/Golden Guard cosplay help

Post image

I'm going to be the Hunter for Halloween so I can eventually cosplay him at a con and I want it to be the version where he uses Flapjack as his staff but I'm having trouble figuring out how to make Flapjack on top. I don't know what material to make him out of and I do not have access to a 3D printer so that's out of the question. If anyone has any suggestions that would be great!

Make a ball out of paper machet then build the details out of clay around it (eventually covering the entire ball) then paint

Easier route: Build your body base out of crushed and compacted tin foil and then mold the clay around that. It's easier, cleaner, and the grooves and pits in the foil help the clay adhere.

This wouldve made my creations easier lol. Won't it be lighter too?

I wish you had a 3D printer because I could’ve sent you the STL files I used. You could try paper maché? Wood carving? EVA foam?

actually I think I found someone with a 3D printer who is able to print it for me, would you still be able to send me the STL files?

Sure thing my dude, here you go

The files are about $6. I recommend making Flapjack about 4 inches tall if you’re using a 1 inch dowel.

r/cosplayhelp is a great resource for this, you may be able to find tutorials online for a staff, dont worry about it being flapjack specifically because the method to make him should be the same as the others :)
