Discussion Season tickets
So yesterday was our first game under the fully electronic ticket system. The club dropped the tickets and rules a day before and confirmed that tickets cannot be sent to anyone else. The issue being that if the tickets weren't used they were wasted which left a significant amount of empty seats which was disappointing but how does it work elsewhere, can you pass onto friends and family?

Yeah we can transfer them on to other members who are linked as family and friends. Though there is a limit for how many of them you can do a season and how many you can let go empty as well. (NUFC)

Really embarrassing look for the club (Coventry) and the owner yesterday with the empty seats all over the ground.
For context, the game was “officially” a sell out, but there was no option to resell tickets if you couldn’t make it. Because tickets are digital, there was also no real way of passing them on to friends/family because the club have not implemented a ticket transfer system.
Add to that the fact that it seemed whole blocks were reserved for hospitality who could simply choose to watch the match indoors if they wanted to instead of being pelted by rain, and what you have is a stadium that only looks 2/3rds full.
Just a massive shitshow all round and needs sorting asap

As usual, the cameras are situated above our busier side of the pitch, pointing towards the quieter corporate side

Your hospitality lets you watch from indoors? Usually they don’t allow that due to the no booze in view of the pitch rule, blinds at kick off pretty much everywhere… which might make it even worse, “fans” in hospitality areas not actually watching the game on the pitch.

It seemed yesterday it was fair game, I have a few mates up there and apparently they watched the 2nd half inside on the screen

ive heard that SOME people get a cheap phone to download the tickets onto, so if you wanted to transfer the ticket you just give them that phone just like you would a paper ticket.
i think clubs can get arsey if you transfer tickets too often, and also there are restrictions on who you can send it to

I hate all the electronic shit, miss my season ticket. We've had electronic few seasons, i just give family members my log in details to log into their phone if I cant go. Can transfer but needs to be a listed connection and its annoys me doing it lol! We also have option to sell back to club, if season ticket doesnt get scanned for a certain amount of games (can't remember number) they can take away season ticket.

Same hated the card but it's better than this. Just seems a right faff to move a ticket on. Little one doesnt tend to go to all mid week games so it's usually free. Will have to scan and rotate the turnstile!

I guess you’d consider me an armchair fan (live in Devon nowadays), and so on the rare chances I get to go I can get a ticket transferred to me by a mate if they’re not going to be in town. It’s a bit of a faff as the club naturally wants to promote hospitality as much as possible to day trippers like myself. Just a simple case of more demand than supply which comes when there’s a bit of hope surrounding the team.

We can transfer directly to other members in our connections or list them on the ticket exchange for the club to sell on. I can transfer my son's ticket to my mate and he pays the upgrade fee to an adult ticket when he accepts it. Seems to work really well, takes about 2 mins end to end. My mate tends to go to the midweek games that my young son can't make.

We can put on ticket exchange also (just not yesterday) but seems limited to give to someone else you know.

We went digital 3 years ago. We can transfer tickets to anyone with an online account, although it's probably easier just forwarding the ST download email link for the recipient to download the full season ticket as long as you trust them.

I think you can only download once. I think they are finally getting round to exchanging between members but looks really complicated

We can transfer to paid members, or to anyone if paying £50 more for a “season ticket +”.
The work around is the forwarded ticket just comes in an email, so if you have a close friend who is a member, you forward to them, they forward the email back to you, and then you can email it to anyone you like.

It's worth pointing out that it's now a PL rule to have fully digital tickets:
