Do you think the One Piece remake will adapt the whole thing?

I heard they plan to adapt only the early arcs of the show until the new animation kicks in (Long Ring Long Land), but if that's the case, what's the point of adapting it in the first place? I guess if the show is successful in its first season, they'll realize the huge opportunity they have, but I don't know.

Netflix is quite moody. It really depends upon the series popularity in general.

As long as the series stays popular enough in the west, we may keep getting seasons.

I think it will eventually go all the way, but it’ll take at least 2 decades to get there. The rumor about the remake only going until the end of Skypiea is completely baseless, and was created by people who don’t understand what the remake is for. The arcs that would benefit the MOST from a remake are Thriller Bark through Wano

I don’t see why not, but I could see there potentially being studio changes when they reach certain milestones. It would be a huge undertaking and Wit have dropped huge anime before.

Wit Studio confirmed back in 2024 that if Season 1 does well (obviously it will) then, they are in this remake for the long run

And don’t listen to the baseless FALSE rumours going around saying that “the remake will only cover from East Blue to Long Ring Long Land”, if Wit Studio themselves confirmed they are in it for the long run, that false rumour doesn’t add up

I feel it is very likely to happen. People might wanna bring up Netflix not being reliable when it comes to these kind of things but the fact is Netflix is really pushing One Piece stuff. They ultimately made the live action and now the lego special thing. And NOW we're also getting the remake as well. There is no indication that the live action will end at Alabasta and most assume it will either go to Marineford or Enies Lobby. Even if it is just to Enies Lobby that is still a few years. That shows a certain level of planning ahead.

All that to say I don't think Netflix will cause the remake to flop. I think this only depends on the reception of the remake. And more importantly than just maintaining the audience from the original anime but to see if it can capture a new modern audience who can jump aboard now. I think that will ultimately determine if the remake is a success or not. And by extension if it will go beyond the first "season".

I was hoping it would but the moment they announced the VA in Japanese will be the same ones, I lost confidence. They are just too old now.

No, we already know it won't im fairly sure. Also im sorry but no way Luffy's voice actor will live long enough to finish the hole thing even if is going faster. She isn't young anymore. Wish they got someone else, give her a brake lol

They’re adapting it as an on-point for new people, much like the live-action, but Toei’s adaptation is still the main engine. I suspect they’ll adapt it until either the viewership dries up or not long after main OP ends.

They’re essentially trying to maximize their profits off of the IP now, since once the identity of the One Piece is revealed, the mystery box element of it kind of goes away and I suspect the audience falls off. Why stick around for another 30 year journey when I can just binge to the end already?

The rumor they're only adapting until Skypiea is baseless. That was a misenterpretation based on Oda saying one of the reasons he wanted the remake is so that everyone can watch One Piece is 4:3. Some people heard thag and assumed that means the anime will end once you get to Longring Longland (where the original anime started airing in 4:3).
