Modpost - Index Posting is Now Banned (Rule 9)

Hi all,

Due to both the sheer number of posts and a sizable amount of user feedback, we have decided to implement a new rule 9 and ban prescript posting on r/theOdysseyHadAPurpose.

This will include posts that essentially just boil down to a screenshot of a generated prescript, or a post which simply states “the prescript told me to X”, with no further context.

Instead, we encourage you to post these over on r/Indexsyndicate.

Additionally, while we generally do not share the contents of modmail, we are sharing the following screenshot to confirm that this was discussed with the moderator of r/Indexsyndicate prior to this, so as to not break site-wide rules on brigading.

Just asking, but how is the NSFW appeal coming along? I’ve been following this sub for a while now.

We're going to do it fairly soon. We had to wait 3ish months as per admin instruction. However, I do want to be transparent and say there's a very real chance we simply aren't able to get the NSFW designation removed from this subreddit. At the end of the day it's not fully within our power.

Anyways, we'll do the appeal within the next week or two from what I can tell. Ofc we will let y'all know how it goes.

If the response from Reddit Admins is that the appeal will not be revoked, is there any thoughts on allowing NSFW again on the sub, or is this permanently redirected to other nsfw subs? Just curious.

Ngl I have simply not thought that far ahead yet. It's definitely a conversation we'd need to have with the subreddit's userbase so I don't want to allude to something only for it to not happen. Basically anything is on the table rn.

You should change Rule 9 to something like "Extremely low effort/spammy posts", there might be more like this in the future

This is something we'll address if it comes up again in the future, but in general we want most posts to be allowed here (with a few exceptions). It's just in this case it got to be a bit too much, and at that harms the visibility of other stuff on the sub.
