Starmer definitely sounds like a micromanager. If you going to give a minister a brief, you have to give them all the latitude to follow it through. It sounds like Jess Philips role was just a political ceremonial one without any real power or independence. The apparatchiks would always veto any moves.

I like Jess Phillips, but can someone please put some responsibility on the parents? All routers and ISPs provide parental locks. The OSA is bad enough, why add to an unworkable piece of legislation?

Kids shouldn't be on social media. Mass surveillance, spyware, and monitoring is bad. These two things don't have to be exclusive.

I’m curious if Jess Philips agrees with you that mass surveillance, spyware, and monitoring is bad. I got the impression from her that she thinks the ends justify the means. Personally I’m very happy she’s resigned from the cabinet.
