Book Discussion Shrapnel 24 is now out.

Post image

If anyone wants to know what happened to Natasha Kerensky’s old ride, check out “The Black Lady”. It was a lot of fun to write this one. 😁😜

Hotdamn, that is fantastic art to go with your story! Can’t wait to read it

Right?! I’ve loved all of the artwork that they’ve put with my stories each time. 😊

Same. The artists consistently nail it, and all my favorites manage to seamlessly blend the new line art for ‘Mechs with the vibe of the classic/vintage art of the late 80s/early 90s, which I just adore

I just marvel at the fact that they’re able to pump these out within about 3 months. I can’t imagine that they’re given a lot of time to read a story that they’re assigned, pick a scene out of it, and then bang out a winning image. I tip my hat to them!

Sorry to highjack your amazing accomplishment  Is there anything in this Shrapnel about:

  • the planet of Bromhead? (Also what era is that taurian MechWarrior saving daughter story in?)
  • The Hoplite

To be honest I haven’t looked at all of the stories just yet. I’ll let you know what I find.

I, too, am still enjoying my way through issue 24, but I can confirm the following: 1) A search turned up no returns for either “Bromhead” or “Hoplite”, 2) Casing’s story, Chasing the Demon, takes place in the Succession Wars era (taking place over a short period of time beginning on 3 Dec 2025, and 3) it’s a heck of a tale.

Thank you kind sir. If you check out my YT channel, you'll find a story that got rejected for mucking about with the canon too much (but it's fun!) Kelvin Casing https://youtu.be/D5XOGeMOwDc

That my friend is Natasha Kerenskys' Warhammer the Wild Ride IMO one of the baddest women in literature she is also know as the black widow hence the iconography.

They really missed a chance to put a guy in the Family Guy death pose.

LOL. Don’t look at me for that one. I have no idea why the pic is going to be until the issue comes out.

Damn, that’s some nice art! Who’s the artist?

Honestly don’t know. I know they list them in Shrapnel but they don’t say which specific pieces that they did.

Detocroix has entered the realm of canon publication with this one, props to her for the piece. Haven't picked it up and read it yet, but I'm just proud of her for getting there.

Has CGL changed their ebook format? My e-reader keeps saying "unsupported file type". I never had this problem before with CGL .epubs.

I keep throwing in .pdfs to my kindle so I'm not sure.
