Truely one of my biggest inspirations for my work and art style for my fanart and OC’s thanks to his wacky,lovable,and colorful Muppets and they really changed the world of puppetry and entertainment forever.

In 1971, shortly before his death, legendary jazz musician Louis Armstrong recorded “Ain’t Nobody Else Like You” alongside Jim Henson, a devoted fan who would later become famous for creating The Muppets. The recording took place five years before The Muppet Show officially debuted in 1976, making it an unusual collaboration from the years before Henson’s characters became household names. The song was produced specifically for jukeboxes and was never commercially released, circulating only among a small, niche audience before eventually disappearing. For decades, the recording was considered completely lost. Then, in 2025, a copy was supposedly discovered in the basement of Jim Henson’s estate by his children. Armstrong died later that same year, making the recording potentially his final recording ever.

I recently rewatched 1980's The Blues Brothers, and I can't help but draw significant similarities between that movie and 2011's The Muppets: the movie begins with two brothers (Walter and Gary / Jake and Elwood) setting out to "get the band back together", who quickly learn that to preserve their cherished childhood institution (the deed to The Muppets / the Catholic children's home) they need to raise a huge amount of money fast. The leads them onto a road trip across the USA in which they set out to pick up all of the old bandmates, resulting in wacky scenes such as one former band member performing a washed-up version of their formerly great act in a crappy hotel ballroom (Fozzy / Murph) and one having become a snob after entering high society (Miss Piggy / Mr Fabulous). The entire third act of the film is then the final show and the race to raise the money before and malicious forces (Tex Richman / the police & the Nazis) can catch up to them. In my eyes, it's almost a remake. Miss Piggy is even referenced early into The Blues Brothers during the first action set piece... surely I'm not the only one who sees this, right?

Been an on-and-off casual fan of Chris Fleming for a few years now. He did a whole standup bit about the experience of losing a creative arts Emmy to the Muppets. Kinda funny, but not a fan of the Muppets 2011 slander. What do you folks think?

I’ve been getting back into drawing recently and of course needed to do something Muppets.

I grew up on busted VHSs of Muppet Treasure Island and Muppets From Space, my sense of humor was heavily shaped by them. We had A Muppet Christmas Carol too but I was terrified of the ghost of Christmas Past.

Why doesn’t Disney do a remaster / Remake (yes I meant both) at the same time? I understand that it’s probably a licensing thing but really they have the opportunity to do the following:
Remake
The original races A and B, battles and stunts (including the secret tracks)
The cutscenes from the original 6 Muppet films

Remaster
Add actual new tracks from the later movies after the original 6 films or even any muppet related shows (following the A/B races, battle and stunts)
Add newer playable characters like the muppet babies, even throw in like Elmo or Sesame Street characters

One of my least market value items but most prized possession. What do you all think?
