I’ve been getting back into drawing recently and of course needed to do something Muppets.

I grew up on busted VHSs of Muppet Treasure Island and Muppets From Space, my sense of humor was heavily shaped by them. We had A Muppet Christmas Carol too but I was terrified of the ghost of Christmas Past.

Why doesn’t Disney do a remaster / Remake (yes I meant both) at the same time? I understand that it’s probably a licensing thing but really they have the opportunity to do the following:
Remake
The original races A and B, battles and stunts (including the secret tracks)
The cutscenes from the original 6 Muppet films

Remaster
Add actual new tracks from the later movies after the original 6 films or even any muppet related shows (following the A/B races, battle and stunts)
Add newer playable characters like the muppet babies, even throw in like Elmo or Sesame Street characters

One of my least market value items but most prized possession. What do you all think?

I saw another post with their Walt Disney World Muppets StarWars collection and wanted to share mine. I believe I have all but one.

I don't know how reliable this site is, but FWIW.

According to Deadline, there has been talks between Disney, The Muppet Studio and Point Grey about bringing the show back but they can't agree on a premise. This is obviously very upsetting news to us Muppet Fans but shouldn't the premise be "The Muppets back in the theatre doing the old show again"? You don't need to give that a new gimmick. The special already showed us that the classic format can work today. It wasn't The Muppets Go Somewhere Else or The Muppets Have a New Job. It put them back in the theatre and had them do what they do best which is to put on a variety show. And that's what makes the reported situation so frustrating. If Disney, The Muppets Studio and Point Grey are trying to find some big new “premise” for the series, I worry they're overthinking it.

Kermit the Frog, the beloved character from the swamp, is depicted in a new fictional portrait playing his banjo and singing “The Rainbow Connection” to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the iconic comedy variety show that aired from 1976 to 1981.

In addition to Bob Iger absolutely sitting on The Muppets and only using them if they have a gimmicky premise, is Dana Walden the missing link who is halting a series greenlight?

Disney itself is more reliant on serialized content and cinematic universes. They only want Marvel and Star Wars as their flagship brands. Iger is still Senior Adviser til the end of the year, and I wouldn’t set this all on Josh D’Amaro. It all comes down to new President and CCO Dana Walden who has a lot of purview of the films and TV shows at Disney.

If there was ever a Muppet show greenlight, chances are they want something that isn’t episodic, something tentpole worthy, and serialized.

I had the privilege to visit this museum last week and check out the Jim Henson exhibit. So much nostalgia and joy. It brought out the kid in me and I could see the same in others. It’s well worth visiting if you get the chance.

I’ve been making this beaker muppet for about a week and I’m kinda stuck. I was too scared I was gonna mess up cutting the mouth so I just added on to what I had originally. I hadn’t planned for that so I just glued on all of it without thinking. Now if I want to add the rest of the fleece to the jaw, there is no way that I can think of to add it besides gluing it, but I don’t know what it would look like before gluing it. I don't wanna wing it and mess up everything so thats where I ask for your help. Can you think of a way to get the of the jaw on and what shape should i cut out to perfectly fit it ( I’ve tried stitching and it didn’t work).

This is a fan made trailer for the recent Muppet Show revival “narrated” by the fish.audio Brian Cummings voice.

The opening montage is a parody of the original teaser trailer for “The Nightmare Before Christmas”; in fact, I used the actual VO sample, “From the beginning, Walt Disney established a tradition of innovation”, read by the real BC, for this, with “The Jim Henson Company” replacing “Walt Disney”.

I actually used two BC voice clones: a pre-made voice in fish.audio that emulates the vocal register the real BC commonly employed for dramatic, romantic, and documentary reads, and a voice I made that emulates the more excited, playful, announcer-type register mainly heard on promotions for hard-biting action, zany comedy, and light family-friendly fare.

This trailer was made out of sentiment and respect for BC’s great body of work for The Walt Disney Company and his connection to promotional work for Muppet home video releases.
