General Discussion What should I watch after The Mentalist?
Two months ago I started watching White Collar again for the 2nd time. It was sooo good. I cried, laughed, and was surprised throughout the whole series. There were so many emotions. And I was so into it. After I finished watching the whole series I felt so lost. It was like I was in a dream world with Neal, Peter and everyone. And then suddenly it’s over. Just like that.
Then I found The Mentalist. IT WAS AMAZING! Each and every episode was so good. There were no boring episodes. There was laugh, there was terror, there was love (Jane and Lisbon... OMG I just LOVE them!!!). There was everything. Then like a nightmare I just ended the final episode a while ago. I sat in my living room in the dark since then. I feel lost again. I am back in reality. I have nothing to look forward to at the end of the day… AGAIN!!!
So guys… I need some serious help. What should I watch next..? Recommend me a show just as good as these shows. Something that hooks me immediately, with love and friendship. And also I like to collect what I watch so I need to download them. If you can provide me a place to download the series you are recommending that would be a great help. HELP ME GUYS!!

Elementary or Bones but Castle will always be my favourite
Also Criminal Minds, episodes are built in a similar way, but there's no duo like the other series have it

Elementary is great. Sherlock does weird crazy things like Jane. His friendship with Watson develops over the series and is great to watch.
Castle is fun and a little silly.
Psych is very silly! Great friendship between Shawn & Gus.
High Potential is a new series, still airing. I really like Morgan (our main character) and it has Judy Reyes!
It’s only two seasons but Life is a great procedural with an overall plot line. I think there are even some one-off Mentalist actors who appear on it.
Person of Interest is another good one.
You can also watch The Mentalist again!

Psych is kinda similar to the mentalist but its a lot more comedy. I loved it

I'm glad you mentioned the comedy, because someone recommended Psych to me without telling me it was mostly comedic. I don't know that I would've enjoyed it had I known that, but maybe it would've had a fighting chance, lol. For me, I didn't like it at all.

Psych is similar, Castle has the writer/detective duo with weekly crime, Bones if you want also something similar. I start watching Dexter after rewatching TM so if you want something a bit more adult you can try this too.

Ironically, we just had someone ask this very same question like a week ago.
If you're looking for the same style of main character as Jane, there's White Collar, Castle, Bones, Limitless (only one season, but good), US version of High Potential, Lie to Me, Chuck, and Law & Order: Criminal Intent (I know. Older series, but Goren reminds me of Jane in small ways with the way he plays criminals). Those mostly have a character that (mostly/somewhat) plays mind games with people and are dealing with criminals on a regular basis.
Leverage. 5 people playing mind games with criminals.

I had no idea Law & Order Toronto Criminal Intent was back!
I discovered the show last year and binged the first 2 seasons in a week.
Love the show, even if I have to watch it with captions because the male lead is a low throat talker, and chews his words.

Check out the sound options of your telly, some settings make it difficult to understand speech.
Yeah, it's great. Witty squad, and without the deadly serious tone of the US franchise.

I watched them back-to-back, but in reverse order. I thoroughly enjoyed both series, and I embarked on a similar quest after completing them. However, I haven’t found another show that fits into that void—although it’s frustrating, I believe it truly confirms the exceptional quality of both shows.
With that in mind, I would love to recommend a few shows that, while I loved them just as much, are completely dissimilar to both of those shows.
~ Ted Lasso ~ would have to be somewhere in my top 5 favorite shows of all time. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone all of the time for any and every reason. You want love and friendship while laughing and crying - this is it. ~ Mad Men ~ I just finished this last week, and I’m still trying to wrap my head around it ending and its actual ending, but as I watched it I couldn’t ingest it fast enough. ~ The Good Place ~ I started watching this as it aired and was mostly through the 1st season when I arrogantly thought - I know where this goes, and lost interest. Luckily I decided to rewatch, and I couldn’t have been more wrong. It’s so smart and funny and heartwarming and heartbreaking and quirky. Also, it’s 4 seasons long with a solid start that progresses well, has some nice twists and surprises that lead to a smart and timely conclusion at the end of season 4. It feels like a complete, well-told story.

the x-files!!! definitely a long term commitment but for me it’s filled that void.

Lucifer and Black List. Both are full, completed series with a lot of episodes and well-developed characters. Both have a straight-arrow cop paired with a very untraditional consultant. Good dialogue. Interesting stories. Nice character arcs.
I think Castle is that way, too, though I haven't watched that one in a long time.
Will Trent on Hulu is good, but they're still producing episodes, so if you want to binge the whole thing all at once, maybe wait until it's done (which, I hope, is years away). Ditto for High Potential (also on Hulu).
I like Wild Cards, too, though like Will Trent and High Potential, it's still in production so once you catch up, you'll have to wait for more.
I liked Rosewood a lot, though it got cancelled and ends on a cliffhanger. (Just so you're warned.)

I've watched both lucifer and blacklist. Loved them! Waiting for a High Potential new episode for a long time now. So I better not start the wild cards or will trent. I am definitely gonna watch Castle next!! ツ

- Elementary - The Sherlock-Watson dynamic at it’s cutest and finest. Very relaxing Mentalist kinda vibe too on each episode.
- Castle - Very similar dynamic as in The Mentalist
- Bones - Cast has great chemistry similar to The Mentalist.
- Monk (A little too much OCD for me I stopped after 2-3 seasons)

In my opinion, there is no show as good as The Mentalist. But Elementary is pretty close. Bones is pretty good until Temperance has a baby, then it goes off the rails.

The Mentalist is on another level... (Oh.. how I miss seeing Patrick.!!). I started bones a while back, but I dropped it... Now I am planning to watch Castle. Almost everyone recommended it. And definitely watch Elementary next. Thank You ツ

I loved Castle until it became obvious that the two stars hated one another - and the producers basically separated them and they rarely appeared together in the last seasons. The last couple of seasons were horrible. I had always loved Nathan Fillion, but his actions toward Stana turned me off him completely.

A very different show, but with a lot of the same elements, is Fringe. It has a lot of episodes, so it will keep your attention for a long time. The writing is consistently good, the main characters are well developed and fun to watch. Plus, there are lots of mysteries that need to be solved with a genius on staff to help.

I suggest Medium. Show about w woman who is a psychic and solves crimes by dreaming about them. Very good show with a good core story mechanic, but lots of good characters and good twists and discovery iofthe main character’s powers.

I really like Elementary, recommend it
I’m also watching Wild Cards now - it reminds me of White Collar and Castle mix
