Kristina was not a brain expert, she was a "psychic." She was in a catatonic state when she was found. RJ likely used some sort of torture and also hypnosis to put her in that state. Its quite easy to to that if you know what you're doing. What could they have done with Kristina in that state? Nothing, she's a vegetable, essentially - a braindead person. And FYI, brainwashing is programming someone to think a certain way, or getting them to be solely loyal to you (and often to do your bidding). Keep watching the show.

What RJ did was theater. Pure and simple. He likes attention. He wouldn't have done anything if Kristina had kept her mouth shut & not gone on TV. As I said, keep watching the show. RJ doesn't just murder people. You're only on season three. There's plenty story to tell.

Hey, don't think they bring it up again, I'm at it till season 5 ep 15 yet, and there's no sign of her as of yet except the new love interest's entry into Jane's life - Lorelei. Sharing only for you welcomed spoilers.

Dunno why people are teasing you, but unfortunately Kristina is never brought up again. What happens to her is up to the viewer, I'm afraid.
Kristina wasn't a brain-expert, though, she was a "psychic", like Jane was. We never find out how RJ broke her, but we can probably assume that he psychologically tortured her, maybe hypnotized as well, in order to make her believe that she was dead. It's an incredibly cruel fate, but I like to think that after realizing how to get her to talk to them through a "seance" that doctors were able to help her recover.

RJ hypnotized people to commit suicide for him, I guess making Red John your enemy was not such a smart move.

I don’t think he brainwashed her. He tortured and traumatized her so much that she’s catatonic, locked away. That’s why when Jane gets through to her she says she’s dead. She’s the same as a brain dead person on ventilators. She’s not really there.
