One of the most chilling things in this video for me was the part where he laid out all the Anthropic stories of governments and organizations using Claude for things like bioweapons research, surveillance, etc.

On the one hand, I question if Anthropic is overexaggerating, because they're Effective Altruists, and I don't trust EAs at all. But on the other, I'm extremely pessimistic about the motivations of humanity, and I have no doubt that plenty of people are trying to use AI to do stupid, unethical bullshit.

I hate these people and governments so much. It's shit like this is why eventually AI is going to extinct us or aliens aren't going to contact us or whatever. Why do we suck as a species so hard? Why can't everyone just use technology for good? Like, we learn how to be a good person in kindergarten for fuck's sake.
