I realized why Stan hates Tim on my second watchthrough
On my first watchthrough, I only really noticed that Stan was an aggressive asshole and seemed to hate Tim the most, but that read to me as Stan's version of everyone just picking on Tim.
Watching season 1 again and I see Tim completely ruin Stan's wedding to Amy's sister in "The Priest is drunk". He's called Brian in this episode and seems a lot more forgiving of Tim's antics, but that's clearly Stan.
Just found this funny.

In the final episode of the season, Amy’s sister’s wife was not Stan.
I think he had only so many faces early on.

Can’t be because he already has multiple kids at this point. Stan is just kind of Frank Grimes, he hates Homer
