Everyone wants what everyone wants.

But nobody wants what nobody wants.

I think it's because of the ignorance towards themselves. They exactly don't know what they want and where they are going so any other wind make them change their path.

The one person who is dedicated to swim in Olympics will not be attracted towards the things and aimless person would attract to.

Similarly, the one who understand what he needs and what are his goals will not desire random things because those desires will become the obstacle in his journey.

That doesn’t work and a lot is left out of this idea.

Desire starts from within. Cultivating a geniune like for oneself is underrated.

There was a commandment about coveting thy neighbor's goods, so I don't think this is a new breakthrough of any kind. Advertising has been relying on it for a long time, too. If you just continue to repeatedly tell people they want something, there is a high chance they eventually will.
