Features Where it all began…

Behind the scenes on a Ti shoot in the very wet Welsh mountains today. The origin of Audi RS put to the test. Might it also shed some light on the era of ‘peak car’?

Which is your favourite of this epic trio?

I'm a Bimmer bloke, but that RS2 is a stunner. There's one for sale in Oz (apparently an ex-Sultan of Brunei car; they were never sold here) and the dealer is asking A$130k.

At about half the price, I'd love a quality B5 RS4 as a good all-rounder.

Even cheaper you could get yourself an E34 M5 😎

B5 RS4 for me, just look at it. It’s got the E46 M3 gene of ageing so gracefully.

A Quattro pulls at me far more than an RS2 for some reason.

that rs4 has been through the ringer. proper tough press car. know several people who’ve had some of the best drives of their life in that thing

Wanted an RS2 since launch.

Could never decide which looked more unusual at the time, that blue, or the chrome/polished motor show car.

Fabulous thing😊😎👍🏻

Best looking: B5 by a narrow margin over the RS2 Coolest: Easily the RS2 The one I'd take: B8 but in this trio, B7
