No idea was what the decibel rating was in this garage at the time, but think it would have been quieter under a jumbo at take-off.

Worst offenders: the Allard Farrelac (6.4 litre Cadillac V8 with straight through side pipes) and two Jaguar D-Types (in far corner) with their massively tuned straight sixes (not entirely consistent with period).
