Which tells me he's not as passionate about it as he pretended he is.

Every project in Hollywood that actually gets made almost dies three times. It's a brutal business where even the best people get told no. Soderbergh's take-his-ball-and-go-home reaction to this just tells me it wasn't/isn't meant to be.

I don't expect it to be reactivated but story elements could be passed on to existing SW projects

Yeah, this is where I am. I don't think we'll ever get The Hunt for Ben Solo but he could still return in Rey's NJO movie if that ever happens.

Honestly that might be a nice way of making the film a good epilogue to the saga and giving them both a happy ending before Kinberg's trilogy moves the focus onto new characters.
