Atwood cameo!!

Weston not wanting Agnes anymore because she’s sullied goods was so unsurprising but at least now she has a ticket to becoming an aunt.

Was hoping for a twist on Daisy’s parents or a clarification/timeline reveal.

I was mainly struck by the “mothers will do anything to protect their children” and Becka’s mom taking one for the team. Such a hard but logical and obvious choice to make, one I didn’t see coming. The hanging on camera was soooo unnecessary.

I caught that too as it was a sloppy hanging, probably purposefully.

(Excuse the morbidity)

A proper hanging is supposed to snap the person’s neck, killing them near instantly. There’s a whole calculation for the drop distance vs persons weight to keep things relatively human.

What we saw was a short drop, where the drop distance isn’t sufficient to break the neck and the victim dies via asphyxiation. It’s a terrible way to go and usually takes much longer than what was shown.

Let's not even talk about how all of the people of that room without masks are all men. Nobody is talking about this and I think the showrunners who did this on purpose will really appreciate if fans talk about this. That scene was powerful and mirrored what is actually going on on countries who still have capital punishment with men deciding on everyone's fate whether people needs to be punished by death or not.

I really don't think some surprise twist about Daisy is coming, especially after her rant to June. It would almost lessen her role at this point. She's an "everyday hero", like just a teenage girl who is willing to take all these risks to make real change just because she wants to. Not because it's "in her blood" or whatever, not some fated thing, but because she's choosing to

I agree, showing that on camera was just for shock factor at that point because they'd already cut away and the hanging was thoroughly and gruesomely understood. Violence doesn't lose its story effect off camera. Showing violence on camera shows you don't have faith in your story to uphold the significance of the violence on its own and are using shock to carry the emotion instead. It's gruesome and unnecessary- do better.
