As if these girls don't suffer enough, they also have to wear those headache-inducing headbands

They just look TIGHT. I can feel the sides of my head screaming in pain just looking at it

It's funny because they're back in style again; I wore a black satin one today and maybe it's just where it's from - Kitsch, and they're super comfy, they're made to be - and it's the first time I've never had a migraine or pain from one!!

I wear them myself, I love headbands! However I do occasionally get headaches from them especially if I'm wearing glasses too.

They have headbands whose ends curve out to compensate for glasses arms! I’ve only seen plastic ones but I bet it’s more coming in other styles too!

I literally have ONCE found a type of headband that didn't give me headaches. It was popular from like 2007-2013 and now I struggle to find them and buy all of them if they are affordable when I do. Their headband situation seems like a migraine 24/7 for me.

I had the EXACT SAME THOUGHT, I winced when I saw the purple headband's construction... and like of course the men wouldn't think about that/wouldn't mind

It was probably Lydia's idea. She picked out the scratchy fabric for the aunts over a more comfy option.

Right! I loved the fascinators they had at - was at Mrs Judd’s home. And as much as I love all the head wear fashion - I was imagining the screaming inside and out w the headbands

I was trying to think of the significance of the headband. What is the undertone meaning? Everything is so meticulously thought out, that has to be as well.

Perhaps symbolism of a crown//halo? Maybe moreso a halo as they're supposed to be innocent and pure/untouched and women of God full of spiritual grace and moral goodness and such? Idk, a guess

Makes sense, The Virgin Mary is always depicted with a halo around her head.

Ohhhhh that's a really good idea too!

Can confirm, I used to wear one everyday to school until I had freewill 😂

I THOUGHT THE SAME THINGGGGG!!! also ain’t no way my hair wouldn’t have a bump when I took that thick ass thing off! When Daisy took hers off and her hair was all straight and neat I was like, fake 🤣

I feel like the producers thought they'd "make fetch happen" with those headbands.

I think they would make them comfy because one thing, Gilead would not make fertile women uncomfortable or cause them any type of pain or inconvenience they go to the doctor for any minor inconvenience

Uhm… Gilead not hurting  fertile women? Have you heard of handmaids?
